OMG it's Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller teaming up! As a big fan of Prison Break this tickles my fancy. And I like the over the top nature of their characters.

What the hell is up with Purcell's accent though? He sounds British, Russian and American at different times.

I liked the episode but the fighting with the police doing nothing was dumb. Also, when Cap Cold first appeared in this episode he said "Told you it would break", it made me want to watch the first season of Prison Break again, sogood.gif.....
It's almost like the show isn't about the police.

Any last minute additions to make?

I need on this train!

I think it was implied that they only wanted Flash, or they were going to kill Caitlin? Make sense for the police to not get involved and stand by the sidelines.

Enjoyable episode, but if Cold is such a planner he would tell Heatwave the plan before they execute him. I hate it, when people break in somewhere and just then starting to ask what they're actually doing. I mean, there is absolutely no reason other than exposition dump to not tell Heatwave what the plan is. Same with the escape at the end. Why not tell him beforehand?

Other than that I am looking forward to more of the rogues. I think they're more exciting than Reverse Flash because they're just human and have to get smart to match the Flash.

YEEEEAAH FLASH IS BACK! Plenty of good stuff this episode, some bad stuff too.

- Miller is perfect as Captain Cold.
- Joe is the heart of this show. It's going to be awful when he's killed off.
- C'mon Barry, you've got super speed. Punch them out, take their guns away. No need for the crossing the stream bullshit. This is why I was all for Cold and the Rogues getting their DNA re-written to incorporate their weapons in the New52. They're just too underpowered for my taste in this day and age, and it's harder to suspend ones disbelief for live-action tv.

This is the threat the Flash deserves:

- Anyway, if Flash isn't going to speed punch them or take their guns away, why bother with the police perimeter if a couple of snipers don't just blast their kneecaps and call it a day? I know, I know "It's TV, show would be over in 5 minutes". But then just don't put the fucking police on the scene and invite these kinds of logic holes.
- Caitlyn and Barry need to fuck already.

Gonna have to wait for the entire team to be assembled before they decided to rewrite their DNAs with that machine. Hoping Mirror Master will be a member on the show.

Mirror Master is probably the most unrealistic one. Even Abra Kadabra is more likely than Mirror Master in terms of realism. But I'm sure if they did something with extra dimensions they might be able to explain it.

They were using it to highlight Cold's arrogance and his eventual pecking order as leader of the Rogues. And then to juxtapose their personalities as Heatwave as the hothead, somebody who may not be use to being a part of a plan.

Finally watched an episode last night, and I really thought it was the most ridiculous thing I've seen outside of reality TV.

So this Cold guy and Fire guy are just marching down an empty street with their heat/cold guns, while the police just sit back in the distance and do absolutely nothing. So it's up to the Flash to take these guys out, and...do these guys have super speed themselves? Because as super fast as Flash is made out to be, he could've just flew up and knocked the shit out of both of them when they were busy flapping their yaps. How could they even have time to pull the triggers of these weapons if Flash is so super fast?

I'll have to try and catch an episode of Gotham. Hopefully it's not as lame as Flash.

If you're a fan of nitpicking, you are going to love Gotham. A multi-episode plot device was the idea that shooting a criminal in absolute self defense would get them kicked off the force.

I think I'm too much of a DC Comics Flash fanboy not to like the episodes. The fact is I had some criticism, but I had to give it up due to "thank God we have a good DC show" feeling I still have. Of course I missed the latest episode. Sometimes these timeoff periods help me to see more clearly :)

Well, they do have Lisa now. One could say the same for how they would do Glider's astral projectionesque ability. I dunno, I just feel MM is too much of a staple member of the group to not include him on the show. =|

Mirror Mater is my favorite Flash foe. Depending on which powers/gimmicks he actually uses (he has had many, many over the years) they could be explained.

Golden Glider is also a favorite, although I don't know the New52 version. I loved the sadistic ice skater version though.

But we have a handful of good-great DC shows on the air right now

That was fan-fucking-tastic.

Who is Cold's sister, I was thinking Frost, but its not, is it?

EDIT: Ah, it's
Golden Glider.

Episode was so good. Welcome to the fast age. Can't wait for the next

Wow, this episode was really good. Surprisingly good. Miller and Purcell are killing it in every scene.

Urgh Laurel.

I really don't buy her in this new role.

Agreed. Fuck Laurel. She ruins the whole show. I hate the actor.

The episode was okay with a few strong moments, but honestly, I didn't like Cold and Heatwave. Miller and Purcell obviously have lots of chemistry and charisma, but the over-the-top cartoony villainy felt like a departure this show didn't need. Yes, this is a comic book adaptation, and yes it's not supposed to be realistic, but what I found praiseworthy about this show, prior to this episode, was that it made an admirable and somewhat successful attempt at remaining grounded in realism. The metahumans were all pretty human, realistic to a considerable degree with their conduct and ambitions. Cold was like a cooler Clock King; prices, meticulous, focused. This episode, and I realise getting captured was apparently a part of the plan or at the very least he had a contingency in place, felt like a completely different depiction of that character.

Also, idc this is a show about The Flash. The show runners gotta make at least an effort in not leaving major gaps. Cold and Heatwave are humans, they're susceptible to bullets. Without any hostages, why the fuck didn't the police open fire? Makes no sense. I can only suspend my disbelief so much.

The Flash has always been one of the most inconsistent comic books in terms of powers when facing normal speed villains.

That part I was laughing at. All of the cops just staring at the backs of these two enemies causing a rampage throughout the city. How easy would it have been to just shoot them?

I guess it would have made more sense if one of them were attacking the police while the other attacked Flash as he was trying to save them. I'll go ahead and blame it on budget and resource constraints.

Man Captain Cold and Heatwave have such great banter. The same with Barry and Joe. Cisco also seems to be stepping up in terms of responsibility.

The biggest thing though has to be the Flash becoming known to the world. How will that affect the show in the future? He's obviously more of a hero than the Arrow so will people begin praising him? Will there be a Flash Day and a Flash Museum in the future?

Dude is patently top tier Obi-Won. Sadly his days are numbered. You better be cherishing each of them as much as you can.

No! A world without Barry & Joe bro moments is not a world I can live in.

It's totally going to happen, I haven't gotten around to the acceptance phase yet.

It was a fine episode but I thought Purcell was way too over the top. "God you're so beautiful" as he stares into his fucking zippo :lol

I liked Wentworth as Cold more, though, and really like Eddie now.

Flash with a series low 1.3 not surprising since that tends to usually be the case but, bleh. Still better than anything else on CW.

I think it was implied that they only wanted Flash, or they were going to kill Caitlin? Make sense for the police to not get involved and stand by the sidelines.

Yeah, they had a hostage that the police didn't know where she was at, Flash was there and it looks like Eddie was in charge so...... Opening fire on them probably wouldn't be the best of ideas in that instance.

Due to work, I couldn't watch the episode and but I listened with divided attention and this sounded a bit over-the-top and cheesy.

I was intrigued by Barry's priorities being challenged, but kind of disappointed that shift was undone and all wrapped up in one episode. It's not going to happen, of course, but if Reverse Flash appears tomorrow, Barry's reversal wouldn't be as clear cut... not that I want the writers to back him into a corner like that.

But if they're going to raise issues like that, I'd rather they let them play out a little more.

Obviously, wasn't watching full on or getting any of the visuals of the performances...

THey canceled themselves out?

Before they crossed? Half of his body should've shattered and the other half should've vaporized. Also those weapons being fired at builds etc should've caused tons of damage, and two cops getting a little burned? Those things were really weak given the stated power of the guns.

"You know, I think I'll be totally fine getting hit by 1.416785(71)×1032 kelvin."

Unless Flash can control himself at a molecular scale...

They goofed by describing the fire as that hot. Just silly.

Fantastic episode.

The rocket reversal was damn good, but what got Wells all riled up and ready to break his cover?

Loved the rogues. It's great to see the brothers back together.

Why do they call you people the heat. I'm the heat. - I laughed my ass off at the delivery.

The rogue take down was pretty sweet, loved it.

And a rogue sister appears! Exciting stuff...

I wonder though, will we see any more of Grood this season?

Wells was about spring into action because he thought Barry might be in trouble from the drone and he needs Barry to be alive. Since they're now deep in the effects of changes caused by him he doesn't necessarily know what is going to happen.

Seeing as, based on the leaked set pictures, Barry & Iris are gonna get together and Caitlin's fate to become Killer Frost, don't count on it.

Pls, I'm not asking for them to date. At this point in S1 Oliver had probably boned 5 women, Barry needs sum honey.

Crossing my fingers! It just looks too dopey when Flash doesn't just take away their guns in the blink of an eye. With powers, Cold would be able to generate an aura around himself that would effectively cancel out Barry's powers, he'd be a threat that Flash can't just run up to and punch out.

Don't you bring that sort of evil in here. Don't you do it.

Seems like we were lied to and another Flash/Arrow crossover will happen later this season, but similar to ep 4.. with a secondary character or two showing up...

Felicity and Ray

And here's link

Wait till Iris falls for Barry (come on, this shit is gonna happen), he is going to become Tommy 2.0

Woah that's awesome.
They're really taking the slow burn with Ray if there's 9 more episodes and his ATOM suit still isn't completed.

Wait till Iris falls for Barry (come on, this shit is gonna happen), he is going to become Tommy 2.0

Eddie's mister nice guy. They'll probably write the fallout in a way that makes Eddie seem like the good guy in it all, because they really want the audience to love him
before he Zooms
. Or he'll hate Barry but love The Flash.

With the level of effects that we've been seeing in the Flash, there's a really good chance that the ATOM suit will actually look fucking baller when it finally makes an appearance.

Not a bad episode but I was disappointed by Dominic Purcell. For all the chewing of the scenery he was doing, his character didn't make much of an impression. At least Captain Cold had some decent one-liners. Neither of them are particularly intimidating and it'll be interesting to see how they can be fleshed out to be threats without their fancy guns.

The best scene in the episode was Barry and Joe at the end. Wonderful unforced chemistry there.

If Flash/Barry were to woo Iris away from Eddie, would that mean Eddie would like one but hate the other? Or hate both?

Eddie seems like a swell enough guy that he'd be like "Long as you're happy, Iris" and then he'd go find some other model or something.
