For those that want it, this is a screen grab of the final scene in the episode:

Wasn't sure if it would be a spoiler if I just posted the image.

The easteregg being a different text and darker really makes it stand out.

Finally caught the pilot off DVR. Outstanding. Loved almost all of the speed scenes, and that's the toughest part to get right. Looking forward to the rest of the Rogues.

I like how Flash seems to have a more "fun" and upbeat tone than Arrow. Should be nice to watch them in contrast each week.

I loved this part. The Flash and Arrow are just wonderful.

I'm gonna ask this in here to avoid Arrow spoilers. How long do episodes of CW shows stay up on their website? I'm trying to figure out how long I have to watch Arrow season 2 on Netflix.

Season 1 is still up, and I haven't heard anything about them pulling the show from Netflix. I imagine you've got a while to watch it.

Crap. I just read my post and realized I did a really bad job of clarifying what I meant.

I'd like to catch up and start watching season 3 of Arrow if I can. Is there some sort of time limit for how long the season 3 episodes will stay on the CW's website?

Flash was like 5th overall on broadcast TV for the night in 18-49 though #1 in a couple demos. Kind of low for the "big four" but not low enough that it wouldn't have a chance for a second season with how TV ratings are these days. If it goes down to Supernatural or Arrow's numbers it probably wouldn't make it past its initial order.

For the big three, FOX would be more than happy with these numbers.

Most everyone seems to be loving the premier.

And I still think that scene with Oliver was great. It was only cheesy if you think he's always supposed to be super stoic, scowling or depressive.

Spider-Man 2002 vs The Dark Knight

Oh, and as much as I thought Gotham fucking sucked, I've watched all three episodes so far. I think I'm completely done with that show. I watched the third episode last night after watching The Flash.

I wonder how the second airing tonight after Arrow will do.

For the big three, FOX would be more than happy with these numbers.

Fox still has stuff that does better numbers though so their expectations would still be higher, I was including the likely drop off that the Flash will experience as most shows do after the premiere.

can someone confirm that these are the only changes from the leak?

because someone mentioned a 3 minutes extension or something

It wasn't extended from the leaked version that came out, it was just three minutes longer from a normal TV show these days, especially on the CW, they just didn't want to have one less commercial break or cut three minutes from the pilot. I guess maybe they could've been counting the preview for the season or whatever.

I don't know anything about Flash or his villains or his comic universe stories, but...I'm in after that pilot.

Gotham, Agents of SHIELD, Arrow, Flash? Comic book TV is AWESOME right now.

Yeah, this was really good.

I feel that this and Arrow are gonna balance themselves pretty well with the different tones. A nice contrast.

I'm glad CW had a re-run tonight after Arrow's season premiere, even though I had watched the leaked version. Great pilot and even better in HD!

Question
Are they hinting that Dr. Wells has the same powers as Barry? He looked to have sped off at very end of the episode.

I'm assuming he's
Professor Zoom
. It should have been a dead giveaway that he was
a time traveler at least
.

Just watched the pilot and I'm in. Really liked it. As someone who thanks to Netflix just started watching Arrow I thought the scene with him and Barry was great.

I wish I could also watch season 3 of Arrow as it airs but I'm only up to episode 14 of the first season and season 2 isn't up on Netflix yet.

I liked the speed effects they used for Flash, thought they were cool. The girl who plays Iris was gorgeous, I couldn't take my eyes off her. Also I know I'm imagining things but I thought the actor playing Barry's father was the actor on the 90s Flash tv show.

I hope they put iZombie in thursdays, because it will mean that there will be DC show on air every single day from monday to friday :D

Oh look, Sark is back. I always like to pretend David Anders was never a part of the abomination known as Heroes.

Also I know I'm imagining things but I thought the actor playing Barry's father was the actor on the 90s Flash tv show.

John Wesley Shipp, the actor who played Barry Allen in the short-lived TV series The Flash on CBS in the '90s, has been cast as Henry Allen, the superhero's father in the upcoming CW remake starring Grant Gustin.

That's awesome

As for the pilot, the scene with Ollie was the best

I enjoyed it. Only issue I have with the speed stuff is the up-close shots of him running. It's hilarious.

Rest of it was great though and I loved the scene with Oliver. Such a lad.

I didn't even notice Barry's costume taking on the traditional look in the future article when I watched the leaked pilot. Yet another thing to love. :D

Is the background story (Barry's mom dies in a mysterious light show and father is framed) consistent with the comic books or is it something unique to this tv series?

I think at the start Barry didn't really have an origin story and was a pretty dull character and so to spice him up he receives this backstory in the comics which leads to Flashpoint and the whole rebooting of DC comics with New 52.

Okay, CW. With Arrow you had my curiosity, but now you have my attention. The pilot was awesome
except for that scene with Oliver, I didn't care for that
