So this is an odd thing I was told about. Apparently If you type Eobard Thawne into google translate and translate it from spanish to english you get professor zoom.

How odd

Let's not abuse the Speedforce gif too much.

can anyone explain why the difference in the symbol colors? future flash has the background of the symbol white while present one is red

That Barry is from a different and probably future timeline. His costume is slightly different to show that. It's also closer to the traditional look from the comics. Brighter red and white emblem.

I really hope the cgi doesn't look cheesy. It's going to be tough putting him into scenes

What they'll probably do is restrict him to carefully controlled lighting, like with a lot of the more ambitious effects. Think Barry on the train, or Flash vs. Zoom in the flashback. Goes a long way.

Talk began about Caitlin's villainous alter ego from the comics, Killer Frost, and Panabaker said, “You’re going to see her sooner than you think.”
Are we ever going to see alternate Flash Wally West? Kreisberg said, "I wouldn’t be surprised if one day you saw Wally West on the show.”

Neat.

Huge amount of spoilers, unsurprisingly.

But this here should be encouraging for most people here:
"He said DC and Geoff Johns opened up everything to them for the show; nothing is off limits. If something exists in the Flash universe, they can use it."

So there's no nonsense like with Smallville (or Arrow?) going on.

But I do dislike how they see Eddie.
"Should we by sympathetic towards Eddie? Kreisberg said that he's just a dumb blond cop getting by on his looks more than anything"

Because he really doesn't feel "dumb". Probably not the brightest mind on the show, but so far I've always seen him as one of the more reasonable characters.

Future villains:
Mirror Master, Doctor Alchemy, and "one that hopefully people will lose their minds over."

Last one sounds a hell of a lot like
Grodd as the big bad
.

Surprised we haven't seen Doctor Light yet. He was already hinted at. Maybe he's reserved for Titans.

Interesting, I think WB is also using the show as a sort of advertisement for the character. Flash is one of the most popular DC characters but it's mostly because of his iconic design and powers, not because of his stories, so I guess WB would like for people to familiarize with the character in this show before the movie.

To me it's a win-win for them, good for the showrunners and the audience that follow the show, and good for WB/DC for the exposure the character gets on a weekly basis.

Eddie is total bro. That moment when he was like "I'll help you, but leaving Iris out is fucked up." Props, Eddie.

Man that secret villain. Is it Neron? The Top? The Thinker? The Turtle?!?!

Oh believe me I'm excited for Daredevil but I won't have a week or more between each episode to become even more hyped. Still I expect great things from it.

Edit: Or did you mean Daredevil is here to fill in the blanks while Flash is on break?

THe second thing :) It's nice think to squeeze in before all the regular shows return.
But yeah...I think the Netflix model will kill the community aspect of the show. Probably also will be less of "holy shit" moments, because they don't need to torture you into waiting for next episode.

Wozzly is going to have fun with Ray, especially if/when they give him the shrinking powers.

EVERYBODY SAVE YOURSELVES, THE BABIES CAN'T SURVIVE BY THEMSELVES

To be fair, the baby wasn't in there, notice the woman behind him holding something awhile running away.

Let's see if that's still the case two or so years from now when the film division really gets rolling on the movie.

I wonder if Reverse Flash will be the first major villain for The Flash movie franchise. It'll be really hard to top what they've done with him on the show because they've had so much time to develop him and make him a legit threat. Hope they get someone good for the movie.

Well..they can now go crazy and use all the biggest bads. Flash's lore is so rich that beyond them there's still a lot of amazing material. So they use the big stuff now and if there are any restrictions once the movies start they can then move to less known stuff.

I'd actually do the first flash movie as a sort of a history lesson Thawne is giving at the Flash museum in the 25th century. Basically he's telling Barry's origin where Barry would be fighting a small enough scale villain, maybe the rogues or someone like that. All the while we'll see glimpses of Thawne trying to be more and more like Barry, ending with Thawne getting Barry's powers and travelling back in time.

Then second movie you could do Thawne's descent into madness and becoming the Reverse Flash.

What kinda sucks is that we'll have already gone through this with The Flash TV series. I mean, I know we love us some reboots and retellings, but I think in this case one time should be enough, no? Hopefully they do something fresh with it.

To be fair we have no clue whether Thawnes origin on the show will be the same as in the comics with the fanboyism and even if it is then well villains origin's staying the same doesn't mean you can't tell a different tale after the origin. I doubt the movie will adapt flashpoint for example.

Candace's response about Iris not knowing Barry is the Flash is weird. I'm still not sure how she's supposed to have figured it out. Almost everyone who knows he's the Flash knows because someone, usually Barry himself, told them.

The STAR labs team were told by Barry and got to study him.
Barry also told Team Arrow.
Joe saw him use his powers.
He told Girder.
He told Plastique before she went boom. This is also how Eilling found out.
He told Firestorm.
Cisco told Capt Cold and the Rogues.
Barry and Joe told Eddie.

Barry's dad is the only person who figured it out, and that's because Barry took actions to protect him specifically while he was in jail. You could say that the Flash choosing to talk specifically to Iris is a clue, but from her POV, he only talks to her because of her blog.

This just seems like one of the stranger complaints to levy at the character. Her not knowing is a problem, but her figuring it out based on nothing would just be bad writing.

Eh.. Iris grew up with Barry. She would know his mannerisms, speech patterns, etc... By that alone Flash would seem familiar. Flash taking a personal interest in her over a blog is actually a huge clue. It's a blog. I could understand writing off Flash talking to her if she were a reporter at that point but it was just a blog.

I mean, it shouldn't be egregiously obvious to her like say, Captain Lance over on Arrow, but she should already have a decent suspicion. Enough for Barry to pull the classic two places at once cover.

She even has a clear picture of his face with his mask on, it should be blatantly obvious if she stares at it. It's just bad writing.

As long as she doesn't Keyser soze his identity. Like Barry goes "sorry Iris I gotta leave in a Flash" and she like drops the coffee and starts remembering all the clues.
