It lends to the idea that the accelerator explosion isn't the sole cause of Meta-Humans coming about, just as it wouldn't have been in the original time line where the particle accelerator wasn't build until 2020 and there was no "accident".

I'm assuming the metagene exists without the accelerator, and all the accelerator did was create the conditions for activation on a wide scale across a city. Other metas could activate without the accelerator, but it cause a massive spike in active metas in Central City.

The Invasion! mini-series provided a concept for why humans in the DC Universe would survive catastrophic events and develop "super powers." One of the Dominators discovered that select members of the human race had a "biological variant" he called the meta-gene (also spelled "metagene"). This gene often lay dormant until an instant of extraordinary physical and emotional stress activates it. A "spontaneous chromosomal combustion" then takes place, as the metagene takes the source of the biostress--be it chemical, radioactive or whatever--and turns the potential catastrophe into a catalyst for "genetic change," resulting in metahuman abilities. It should also be noted that DC does not use the "metagene concept" as a solid editorial rule, and few writers explicitly reference the metagene when explaining a character's origin.

A thought that occurred to me- anybody else think Tina McGee will take over the "Harrison Wells" role going forward?

So will Barry ever become "DOFP Quicksilver" fast ? It was pretty disappointing he couldn't outrun bees imo

EDIT: welp, I guess I'm not the only one who thought so.

Did everyone (including the writers) forget the episode with the gas guy? Barry was literally moving so fast that everyone around him was frozen while he was checking out the elevator the woman was killed in.
Easily quicksilver levels right there.

Have to tone down those powers sometimes to make certain villains seem more threatening.

The only reason Iris doesn't know is because it gives the writers something easy to waste time on. Quality of the rest of the show be damned.

Bad episode this week. Just some next level corn.

As a reporter I wonder how Iris will feel when she has a secret source and needs to hide it from Eddie. Unless she is happy to betray every single one of them.

I mean, they've cast non-Wells Reverse Flash. It's entirely possible that Flashpoint shenanigans will leave us with the original Wells and the other guy as RF.

I'm conflicted on this because I want Cavanagh To stick around but I really enjoy the way he plays it now. He's also said being the reverse flash is the big reason he took the role because he said no at first when they just told him he'd be a scientist. Still I see no way for him to stay on as a regular if he continues to be the reverse flash after this season.

Legends I can see as a a temporary internal title. Calling it "Untitled Arrow & Flash Spin-Off" all the time is probably a little wordy.

13 episode order is a bit intriguing but not surprising. They seemed to be doing their own thing outside of pilot season anyway. A lower episode order would imply a mid season to show to fill in over the break like Agent Carter. But 13 episodes implies mid season that would run (at least partially) concurrent with Flash & Arrow. It'd be interesting if it gets a new time slot to compensate and we get a big crossover at the end between the shows. That would be cool. I need to check out The CW's current schedule and episode orders but TVD's Thursday at 8pm slot would probably be the best place for it. Superheroes at 8, Tuesday to Thursday.

So, what will be the name of the season two |OT|?

The Flash |OT| Gotta Go Fast
Rewind

The Flash |OT| Gotta Go Fast
Forward

The Flash |OT| Gotta Go
Flash Back

13 episodes is a standard season order. If it does well then they can order a back 9 (or 10). Could still be mid-season also, but I wouldn't assume that yet.

I'm aware it's a standard season order, but we know it's airing next year and John Wesley Shipp also said mid season so a back 10 order is unlikely.

New episode today:
Season 1: episode 19 "Who Is Harrison Wells?"

Joe and Cisco head to Starling City to continue their investigation of Dr. Wells. While in town, the duo enlists the help of Captain Lance, and Cisco meets the Black Canary, who asks him for a favor.

Remember when Catlyn(sp?) and Barry had a moment in an episode about two months ago? I just was reminded of this and I think CW forgot, too.

It is simple, Barry X Caitlin is popular amongst shippers but it doesn't fit the current timeline for the characters. Barry has to get together with Iris and Caitlin rediscovered her fiancee a couple of episodes later. They didn't forget, it is just they can't do anything about it for the moment.

You know what would be a great change for these shows? Relationships that last longer than 2 episodes and without much unreasonable and badly written drama.

That would be great.

Iris and Eddie have lasted the whole season so far and the only 'unreasonable' part has been the last episode.

The Reverse Fucking Flash. I need an Injustice 2 with this version of RF as a character.

I can't wait to see different variations of him throughout the series. It's going to be great.

Yeah it's an incredible design. I also love how they have him constantly vibrating in the show. Makes him seem otherworldly. It has me kind of worried that when the character potentially appears in a future movie he wont look nearly as great.

No thanks, NRS fighting games fill a niche. Not every fighter needs to be ultra competitive fighting game scene caliber
I'll settle for Bandai Namco's people who do Naruto and Dragon Ball, then. I feel like MK's animations haven't improved since the original. For sure that's by design, but that is ugly as hell when you bring in non-MK characters, like DC's line up. Flash should not move like he's Johnny Cage.

By Capcom, please. Take it away from NetherRealm and their stiff-ass animations.

I know this will never happen, though.
Like you said, it'll never happen. WB Games has no reason to outsource a DC fighting game when they have a competent fighting game developer in-house. Granted, their games don't last very long in the FGC, but they still get the job done.
