I seriously cannot get over how good Tom Cavanagh is in this show.
In the pantheon of great TV anti heroes and villains that you almost struggle to do anything but like, some of my more modern favourites have been Ron Rifkin as Arvin Sloane, David Anders as Julian Sark, Michael Emmerson as Benjamin Linus, and James Callis as Gaius Baltar. They're different to villains like Joffrey Baratheon, who was just an out and out dick, there's humanity and greatly flawed humanity in a good villain - and Wells / Eobard is exactly that. We're not even a full season in and I can tell I'm going to love him as much as those guys.
This show has moments where I begin to question it - Cisco asking Joe why he suspected Wells in this episode was an example.. they've been over that together in several episodes! That was more a transparent reminder for the viewers about wh. suspects whom.. but cheese and writing snafus aside, the showrunners are doing an amazing job here. Amazing.
Can you imagine being a kid and watching this? It's fucking magical!
