Alonso: I give up, I give up!

That's really not like him. He's pushed like mad to get up there and now he's saying that? I like the DC/Brundle banter over the message.

As DC/Brundle said, this could eb a coded message to the team saying "Keep me behind Massa again and I'll cut off your nads"

Anyway, Vettel wins! RBR Constructors champions, Hamilton 2nd, Webber 3rd, Button 4th and Alonso 5th. 6th for Massa, 7th for Alguersuari (!), 8th for Rosberg, Buemi 9th and Di Resta 10th.

A good race all in all, but Vettel shows again why he is WC this year!

I understand Ferrari wanting to let their drivers race, but Massa cost Alonso a possible podium finish or even a battle further up. Why is Felipe still with Ferrari?

Rosberg runs out of fuel on the in-lap, as does Alonso, who walks away like he has just been told his favourite dog has just died.

I thought so too. Seems like a while since Mark had a decent drive, too.

So, can someone clarify on his start and his race?

RB7 is thoroughly deserving of the WCC. Congratulations to Newey and his design team.
Achievement unlocked: chassis god mode.

They were so reliable this year too.

Yep, when other cars fail the RBR stays together.

Usually Newey's cars are marked by combined brilliance with a tendency to explode half the time. If he has cracked reliability too, the rest of F1 may as well give up now.

Everyone has been amazingly reliable this season, I can't recall many, if any, engines really letting go this season.

Really enjoyed that, great driving by Hamilton and Webber. I just hope Ferrari gives Alonso a damn good car next year and keeps Massa the fuck away from him.

Indeed, I expect to lose the top spot now. :(

There was a lot of overtakes in the first corners of the first lap, he lost a couple of spots firstly, but then overtook his way to third...so he won a spot from his starting position, an improvement from his recent crappy starts, I suppose.

The potential of what F1 could be continues to get held back though. It may be good to limit the cars now in this climate but if the world economy starts booming and more truckloads of money can be poured in I want to see no restrictions on revs and see how far these cars can be pushed. 1200 hp v12s please :)

He had a great first lap, and it was the race you missed the start of. Clearly you are a jinx. ;)
Ahaha. Awesome. Rest of his race was good then, I take it?

I actually have high hopes for him next year. So long as what Foliorium said about Webber preferring cars without the blown diffuser is true, then we should see a much closer fight between the two RBR drivers. To be honest, he really hasn't been THAT far off Vettel, just that the German has been able to get better starts and basically control the pack from the front.

YES, ACCEPT THAT TROPHY YOU MAGNIFICENT AUSTRALIAN.

Entertaining race, Hami defended 2nd pos. well enough from Webber, still I can't find out what went wrong, I mean all weekend pre race the Macs were much better cars than the rest, in race they were not !!

If Vettel keeps winning 10 races each season, for the rest of his career, he could make it...
He's only 24. He could have another 10 plus years in the sport, so even 5 a season would be enough theoretically.
