Watching the race now, the BBC front page spoiled the result but I'm not too bothered. Sounds like a good race and the best forum ever?
It didn't.

Oh and Senna for Ferrari is a lock. Massa is being fired after exiting the car during pitstop, waiting for Hamilton to pit and blowing a load over Hamilton's helmet, thus jeopardizing Hamilton's race with cum vision.

Someone need to gif the uncensored version. PM me the gif for you might get banned for showing Massa's massive mass-a.

Can't say you didn't see that coming.

Neither could Hamilton for that matter. Should've checked his mirrors.

Man, this season has taken its toll on me. :( Hamilton just can't catch a f**king break. 3 second lead over Button, then puncture out of nowhere, followed by a pitstop with atrocious tyre set. He's had all like 4-5 races in the whole year without any gremlins (either his driving mistakes, team's fuck-ups, atrocious luck, etc). Dude has been trying too hard too often in order to compensate for said gremlins, with very little success.

I'm about to have a meltdown. This is the same kid who lost a WDC by 2 points as a rookie, was more than a match for a 2x WDC, won his at the time youngest WDC in the most dramatic fashion the following year (last corner, stuff of legends), and overtook anyone anywhere anytime. All that without a massively dominant car, and with some of the strongest competition I've seen in over a decade...

Then it's all been downhill from there. And it's been incredibly hard to watch it happen for me. Got big hopes for 2012, but who knows really?

Just felt like venting a bit. *flame suit on*

I don't think the tyres were atrocious, they're the same as everyone else's. I think it's pretty much the case that his driving style wore them out too early.

Sets are different one from another. I won't get into the tyre-eater debate, as I am sure Hamilton has shown multiple times he can make a set last longer than others (except for button and Perez). Pretty sure he was on his 2nd set longer than vettel for instance.

He was turning out slower times compared to the rest with his 2nd set, and progressively fell backwards in the field. It wasn't just dirty air and stuck behind slower cars out of the pits. Something similar happened in Malaysia too, and he just said that the tyres were just bad. It does happen, and it's not just excuses...

My bad, not a bad set of tyres as I suspected, but this explains very well what happened.

"Lewis had a more difficult afternoon. We weren't immediately aware that Lewis appeared to suffer a slow puncture to the right-rear in the first stint. That created a growing pressure differential across the rear axle, and potentially led us to add too much front wing to compensate for the lack of balance at the rear.

"In hindsight, that may have led to Lewis fighting to find a satisfactory balance for the next two stints as we attempted to restore the set-up he'd enjoyed during the previous two days. It was a challenging afternoon for Lewis, but he never gave up, kept pushing and scored some strong points for the team. He had the pace this weekend, so I'm sure he'll be as tough as ever in Korea next weekend."

2011 season can't finish soon enough. Ughhh!

The more on top you are, the less unfortunate shit seem to fall on you. Formula 1 is a couple of balls hair between glory and complete shit.

Hamilton will bounce back. His spirits seem a bit weakened at the moment, but a win or a fresh start on a new season should invigorate him. And let's not pretend that he is not still faster than Button... Hamilton would have snatched that pole yesterday if shit hadn't gone as it did.

In terms of raw pace, such as Qualifying, Hamilton is certainly faster than Button. But in terms of race craft and consitency Button has clearly been ahead this year, 9 podiums to 4, 3 wins to 2. I'm not saying Button is the better driver I'm just saying for me he has demonstrated that he is in that league of top tier drivers with Alonso, Hamilton and Vettel. Which means if Mclaren do get a race winning car at the start of next year it would be hard for me to call who would win out of the two.

A season where Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren are matched must be awesome to watch.

Next year could be one of the greatest if that is the case unfortunatley the BBC will only be covering half of it :(

Watching the Forum made me sad today, I don't care what the production values might be on SKY they will never be able to replicate the atmosphere and coverage the BBC have on their forum.

Vettel, Button, Hamilton and Alonso are all equal drivers in my opinion.

Hamilton will win my vote if he could get a better peace of mind and a little controlled temper behind the wheel.
If not then he is behind the others and you can see it reflected on the 2011 FORMULA 1 STANDINGS!

1. S. Vettel 324 15. S. Perez 13

Alright guys, I'm watching the pre-race coverage now. I didn't read or hear anything about it, didn't spoiler myself, but it seems obvious who won.

I still hope I'm in for a good race.

Jenson has entered the lion's den. It was madness of him to move. He thinks he's going to be able to eat his steak, and that's not going to be the case - I think he's going to get murdered!

Code:
Button - Hamilton

  34 Races 34

  5 Wins 5

  16 Podiums 13

  424 Points 418

totally murdered...

Just better hope he isn't causing the 'McLaren effect' - Start beefing up your car, then watch it fail on race day.

On a side note, I would like to say congratulations to Robert Wickens who today won the Formula Renault 3.5 title. He is also currently a reserve driver for Virgin. I hope he gets an a chance at F1 someday. Would love to see another Canadian in the championship.

It was a mighty fine race.
I can't believe the outcome I'm seeing right now.

6 laps to go
1. Button
2. Alonso
3. Vettel

Completely unexpected for me, even though I doubt Alonso can keep his second place.

e: 3 laps to go. AVANTI ALONSO! AVANTI!

Was a great race, Button deserved the win and gets props for an awesome season, as does Vettel for winning the WDC.

Webber and Hamilton both need to stage a comeback next year, Alonso has shown how dangerous and how much of a contender he still is, Massa? - not so much.

Looking forward still to the last four races.

It was the reverse Monaco. These 3 drivers are something.

Does anyone think Jenson shouldn't be regarded as a top tier driver now along with Alonso, Hamilton and Vettel? I certainly feel that he's transcended the second tier of drivers and joined the aforementioned drivers as the (to borrow an expression from MotoGP) 'aliens' of F1. He's like a fine wine, maturing with age. Mind the cliché.

Should?

...and yeah, for me he's certainly getting there. It's amazing really, he's found a whole new level in the last few months.

He's been there since Brazil 2009.

Man, I'm going to miss the BBC coverage so much. The guys, the pre-race coverage and videos, the post-race interviews. It's amazing.

I changed my mind about him this season.
