Race ruined for Button twice by safety car and tire change under red flag. What kind of idiotic rule is that?

Championship drive my ass Horner. The punk got extremely lucky today.

If it keeps up like this, I've got plenty of other things I could be doing to fill up these 3 hours every Saturday & Sunday.

Did you miss the entire stint after the first safety car, with absurdly worn tires and a charging Alonso? SMH at the Vettel hate

Let's be honest, it was quite clear that the tyre wear here was akin to the Bridgestones last year.

I am happy for Webber. He raced well after getting screwed.
Yep, 4th place and more or less forgotten about for the entire race...

... Which was a great one for the neutral. Hopefully the RBR dominance can be broken, if only to keep the championship interest high.

Thanks GAF, it's been a pleasure watching F1 with you tonight!

I do not think anyone is denying Vettel's skill, its just is luck with his skill that is making him just about invincible... which turns out to be kinda boring and frustrating if you root for other teams.

I'm sorry but allowing them to change tyres is the fucking stupidest thing I've ever seen.
I know it's frustrating but the rules are there because Red Flags are caused by big accidents, so they allow teams to change tyres to make sure there's no punctures caused by debris on the restart.

Vettel just got another massive break at the best possible time.

*fasten for massive vettel hate impact*
You have to admit, the guy just seems destined to win, it all just falls into place for him no matter what.

Kind of like how no matter how hard webber tries, hes destined to be a cock.

Lol accept vettel as your lord and savior mclaren fans. Might as well of stopped the race cause new tires made the last laps pointless. Vettel is lucky, but that was nice driving come on now.

How can anyone stop Vettel when he keeps getting this lucky?

i dont get it, what is so lucky about this.
was he lucky when he got poll, sure he got lucky with the safety car but so did button on the first one.
vettel had a 18 second lead and it turned out to be only 3 after that safecty car.

lets stop saying he is lucky, because only luck wont let you win races.

Vettel shit win. It should have cost him to stay out like that.

Hamilton pure frustration. Fucked yesterday and today by his own crew.

I think the incident with Massa could easily have been avoided by Massa, and Hamilton probably shouldn't have tried. On the first lap Schumacher pulled the same stunt on Hamilton but he let him through.

Very exciting race ruined by a bullshit safety car ending.

How many times do we have to explain this?

It's a streak, yes. But there always can happen a sudden change in your luck in the next couple of races in F1.

And let's not forget, that his car, his team and his abilities aren't too bad either. So his luck isn't completely undeserved imo.

Anyone able to give me a rundown of everything good and shit that happened? What happened to Webber?

I missed the whole race :(

The tires were changed for safety reasons. There was debris all over the track before the red flag, anyone could've picked up a puncture. If someone had a puncture and were allowed to restart on those tires, with the drivers so bunched up for the restart it could've been yet another massive incident. We have one driver in the hospital this weekend and Petrov narrowly missing out on serious injury himself, it's dumb to complain about taking necessary safety precautions.

Why not let them pit in the first lap behind the safety car?

get over it, he hold off alonso while he was on the older tyres.
he had a big lead on buton before the first safecty car and his pitstop got fucked by red bull.

nvm the fact the race should not have been restarted with 75% done.

Tenacious-V

Thinks his PR is better than yours.
He deserved the win. He pitted on lap 16 ffs. And held off everyone even with tires hitting 50laps used. Held off Button on SSs and made no mistakes other than his pit crew.

It looked even before the SCs and Red flag that he was going to hold off Alonso. Button wasn't putting pressure on Alonso either.

Too much undeserved hate.

Could wreck hamilton's next race as well if he gets a grid penalty

If he gets a time penalty? Could lose points....

he needs a one race ban for punting off drivers, accusing them of cheating and causing a pile up.

he should be disgusted with himself today.

It's racing, the rules are there to protect drivers because they will always, always try to be as competitive as possible. A blanket tire change during the red flag period is fair for everyone because no driver in a competitive position would opt to change again under racing conditions. It's not always obvious when someone has picked up debris, it could only show up under racing conditions when it could cause serious damage.
