Did you miss the entire stint after the first safety car, with absurdly worn tires and a charging Alonso? SMH at the Vettel hateAdamm said:How was that a champions drive?
Agreed. Made no sense to give a free pitstop away.kitch9 said:I'm sorry but allowing them to change tyres is the fucking stupidest thing I've ever seen.

Yep, 4th place and more or less forgotten about for the entire race...paskowitz said:I am happy for Webber. He raced well after getting screwed.

I know it's frustrating but the rules are there because Red Flags are caused by big accidents, so they allow teams to change tyres to make sure there's no punctures caused by debris on the restart.kitch9 said:I'm sorry but allowing them to change tyres is the fucking stupidest thing I've ever seen.
You have to admit, the guy just seems destined to win, it all just falls into place for him no matter what.S. L. said:*fasten for massive vettel hate impact*

was he lucky when he got poll, sure he got lucky with the safety car but so did button on the first one.
vettel had a 18 second lead and it turned out to be only 3 after that safecty car.
lets stop saying he is lucky, because only luck wont let you win races.

I agree, it ruined the race.kitch9 said:I'm sorry but allowing them to change tyres is the fucking stupidest thing I've ever seen.

Why not let them pit in the first lap behind the safety car?RomanticHeroX said:The tires were changed for safety reasons. There was debris all over the track before the red flag, anyone could've picked up a puncture. If someone had a puncture and were allowed to restart on those tires, with the drivers so bunched up for the restart it could've been yet another massive incident. We have one driver in the hospital this weekend and Petrov narrowly missing out on serious injury himself, it's dumb to complain about taking necessary safety precautions.
slow start, and then RBR messed up Vettels and Webbers pit stops bothShaneus said:Anyone able to give me a rundown of everything good and shit that happened? What happened to Webber?
I missed the whole race
It's better to be lucky than good.Versipellis said:We will never know if Alonso/Button would have passed Vettel, but it must be said that being lucky is just another "skill" of a champion.

If he gets a time penalty? Could lose points....

It's racing, the rules are there to protect drivers because they will always, always try to be as competitive as possible. A blanket tire change during the red flag period is fair for everyone because no driver in a competitive position would opt to change again under racing conditions. It's not always obvious when someone has picked up debris, it could only show up under racing conditions when it could cause serious damage.brotkasten said:Why not let them pit in the first lap behind the safety car?
