i dont get it, what is so lucky about this.
was he lucky when he got poll, sure he got lucky with the safety car but so did button on the first one.
vettel had a 18 second lead and it turned out to be only 3 after that safecty car.

lets stop saying he is lucky, because only luck wont let you win races.
Say what now?

The tires were changed for safety reasons. There was debris all over the track before the red flag, anyone could've picked up a puncture. If someone had a puncture and were allowed to restart on those tires, with the drivers so bunched up for the restart it could've been yet another massive incident. We have one driver in the hospital this weekend and Petrov narrowly missing out on serious injury himself, it's dumb to complain about taking necessary safety precautions.
Race would of been better if they would have kept thier tires, but was still great. "ruined" lol sometimes your guy loses. Vettel just wins and wins...

So, how was Webber's and Vettel's pits screwed? What did Hammy do that was so shitful? What luck was thrown Vettel's way that gave him the win?

Again, apologies for the questions, hated missing Monaco... but Jon Jajoie was beckoning.

get over it, he hold off alonso while he was on the older tyres.
he had a big lead on buton before the first safecty car and his pitstop got fucked by red bull.

nvm the fact the race should not have been restarted with 75% done.

I don't think you really understood the race

Button had over a pitstops lead on Vettel, the first safety car killed that lead, then the second safety car stopped Alonso & Button overtaking him.

Vettel's borked pitstop only cost him 3-4 seconds.

There's nothing to get over, it's clear evidence.

he needs a one race ban for punting off drivers, accusing them of cheating and causing a pile up.

he should be disgusted with himself today.
WTF?

Lewis punted off one person today. The pile up was Sutil's fault completely.

Any racing fan should be annoyed by that finish, not just Vettel haters. 3 cars in reverse order of pace separated by less than a second. It was shaping up to be one of the greatest finishes in a long time.

Wrong tyres out for Vettelk, then Webber pitted right behind him and had to wait for his tyres, 15s pitstop. Ham crashed into about 4 cars, and drove away from each one. Vettel got lucky with the timing of the safety cars.

Mix up with tyres meant that vettel had a 9 sec pitstop & webber was 15 seconds

What did Hammy do that was so shitful?

Crashed into everyone!

What luck was thrown Vettel's way that gave him the win?

He had 60 lap old tyres with alonso 0.4s behind him & Button 1.0s behind him then the race was red flagged which meant he could get new fresh tyres

Haha Vettel sprayed the guard and he didn't even flinch!

LOLOL yea, need gifs of this asap

Race was ruined by the 2nd safety car. :(
Vettel's tires were going off a cliff, and we would have seen an amazing finish, but the idiot backmarkers couldn't keep it together. So much promise, so little reward.

Best thing about Monaco GP is seeing Charlotte Casiraghi at the end.

Did Webber pit during the safety car? When he went for what I counted as his third stop the BBC commentators were saying it's his second stop but I'm sure he was one of the first to go in during SC.

Not at all because Vettel won and he didn't get lucky at all

RB pit stops were in a way chaotic and took ages. So Vettel lost a lot of his advantage.
Reckless Hamilton manoevres galore.
Vettel had ancient tyres he couldn't change without losing top position, but in the red flag phase he was allowed to get new tyres 'for safety reasons'.

Loved that race. Brilliant stuff. Shame for Button though, and for fans in general such a let down of an ending, still, the health of Petrov is more important.

It's quite ironic that Hamilton probably caused the most excitement today yet people are slamming him left, right and centre.

Just two actually. Massa and Maldonado. I don't think he made contact with Shumi on the pass. Schumacher and Alguersuari actually ran into the back of him.

Definitely one of his worst races.

Eddie trolling?

[BBC F1 chief analyst Eddie Jordan: "This had drama from the very start. Today was a remarkable day. Sebastian Vettel is the luckiest man on the planet. Everything is falling into place for him."

Bullshit. He got gifted 8 laps of holding out on worn tires against a 2 hard charging guys on tires about 20 and 40 laps younger. That's lucky.

In a racing spectacle point of view, we've been robbed of an epic finish. Would've been the same if it was anyone else leading.

A sour end to what was a rather memorable race, one of the better days at Monaco in recent times.

Congrats to Vettel once again, defended well at the end but I don't think he would have won if it weren't for the safety cars but that's the way it goes sometimes. Button got robbed which is a shame as he was immense today, one of his best races. Hamilton drove like a twat and was all over the place, his "Massa drove into me" radio message was hilarious.

Shame Petrov got involved in the mess at the end, don't think he could have avoided it really and I hope he is ok. Feel bad for Maldonado as well, that must be an extremely depressing way to go out.

Thanks for the updates, gents :)

Sounds like the changing under the red pissed a few people off and gave undue advantages where there shouldn't have been. Can't imagine how pissed I would've been had I watched it live. Also sounds like Webber drove like a champ again.

Guessing we can pretty much write this season off and pen Vettel in for the championship, then? Fucking sucks.

Edit: At least one Aussie kicked arse today :D

I was being sarcastic.

Button deserved to win today. He was the best driver out there today, no one can argue with that (no sarcasm).

What a race what a race.
One of the most interesting Monacos ive watched.

Some things of note:

1. Charlotte Casiraghi finally looking maturely beautiful
2. Webber fastest lap......again......no win?
3. Vettel skill plus luck = unbeatable
4. Clean up crews at Monaco are frikken awesome
5. Vettel sprays guard in the face with champaign funniest thing ive seen this week
6. Hamilton two investigations one race....awesome!
7. Alonso and Button good drive.
8. MSC.....sad, just sad.

Indeed he was. McLaren are just seriously getting unlucky with their strategy and general luck this year.

So vettel has a 58 point lead after 6 races (could be more if hamilton gets a penalty)

Could mean a very boring end of season

Yep. They have awesome race pace and it will be even better in Canada with loads of new stuff coming. Also, Button is still close to 2nd place, so even if Lewis get some penalty, they can still push with Button.

Mercedes and Renault are horribly off pace in the race.

Unfortunately so. The off-throttle exhaust fumes ban is going to come too late. They should've forced that stuff right there in Spain and not listen to the weak complains from RBR and Renault.

Yes, I am incredible bitter about the fact Button didn't win it today.

Both Merc's were horribly off the pace. I think they got their race setup wrong. Too much focus on qual.
Schumi was complaining of graining and it looked like Rosberg was having the same problem, I think the car was just chewing up the tires.

Sutil, Kobayashi & D'Ambrosio are all under investigation.

Hope KK doesn't loose any places =/
Koba is being investigated for running into Sutil at Mirabeau.
Sutil is probably being investigated for cutting the chicane and coming back onto the racing line, causing the pile up.
No clue what D'Ambrosio did though.

I saw that as well, freakin hilarious. He didn't even move. Vettel has a lighthearted personality.

Exciting races. Boring championship. Pretty much the opposite of last year.
Perfect conditions for a competitive championship with DRS and Pirelli tyres, the only problem is one team is dominating the sport at the moment.
