So why was it that Vettel choked on the last lap during the Canadian race? Has he said anything about it in interviews?
pushed as hard as he could? with DRS you are fighting for the 1 second gap and not wheel to wheel.
another reason why (the current implementation of ) DRS sucks balls

I think Lewis would be a fool to leave, especially given that he's two championships away from winning this...

Wait, thats the story behind this?

Mclaren have a huge amount of money and resources. I don't think Red Bull can compete in that area. Of course they don't have Adrian Newey, but that doesn't guarantee they will have the best car next season.

RBR is just a phone call away from Dietrich Mateschitz's checkbook. The guy has clearly spent a lot of money to make this team competitive and it shows.

And for all the praise McLaren gets for having a state of the art facility, they're sure not putting it to good use. Their last championship was 3 years ago, and another 9 years prior to that. Hell, they even had Newey and Raikkonen at one point and still played second fiddle to Ferrari.

Lewis moves to RBR, Raikkonen comes back to Macca with a competitive car, Lewis gets jelly :lol

I see, I had to google DRS during the race to see what it was. It seemed like he would have lost anyways because the guy that past him had DRS and an extra straight away to catch him.

Lewis needs to stay put imo unless the atmosphere at Mclaren has become completely unbearable and against him I don't think it would be good to leave in the long-run. It must be tempting to drive a Newey car but at the same time he's not unbeatable by any means. I think chances are moving would work more against than for him, even if he won another 2+ championships with Redbull.

Basicly this. I can understand he is frustrated and McLaren has been lacking in something since 2008. But the cultures of how the teams are run is so different between McLaren and Red Bull, especially in Lewis' case. I think he'd struggle compared to Vettel and maybe even to the rest of the field even though he'd be driving a Newey car. Just take a look at Webber. The car isn't everything.

It would be a perfect recipe for another massive rivalry in Formula One though. I want another Hamilton vs Alonso-like rivalry.

It would be boring if Hamilton stayed with McLaren for more than a decade. He has many seasons to come. He could jump to Red Bull now and eventually join Ferrari before his career would be over.

Hamilton and Vettel in the same team would be a show to behold. It would be intense as they would constantly push themselves and take more risk to beat each other. The current pairings in the top 3 teams are just not any fun to follow.

Yeah but you know what, every time I talk to someone who doesn't care about Formula 1 their eyes light up when I tell them about KERS and DRS. The idea alone gets people interested in F1.

And risk missing out when there's a clear #2? You saw how close it was last year when Webber and Vettel were neck-and-neck, they almost lost it. Now that Vettel has pulled in front of Mark and there's an obvious distinction between the drivers, RBR have a clear shot at the WDC.

Newey not ruling out other teams after Red Bull project finishes

He'll most likely remain in the UK as he stated before that he'd prefer to stay here. So, if he does decide to carry on in F1 after his tenure at Red Bull, then who could he join?

I'd say Lotus.

"I'm slightly baffled by it because it's been declared legal forever until this race," he added.

"The obvious parallel is when active suspension was banned at the end of '93, where there was no regulation change. Ferrari couldn't get their active to work and suddenly it was illegal for the next year.

"It's easy to fall into the Machiavellian conspiracy theories. Whether that's true or not, I don't know and I can't comment."

Adrian Newey has refused to completely dismiss suggestions he might end his Formula One career with Ferrari.

:lol

Am I the only one who is always annoyed by this sort of "news"? So Newey has refused to deny he wouldn't end up at Ferrari, because he honestly doesn't know where or even when his career will end? It's even worse with the drivers. Most often that sort of news is worded in the most vague way possible. Case in point above.

I find the constant hamilton to red bull nonsense more annoying. I mainly just read the bbc f1 news but every day when there's nothing new to report the headline is "Hamilton's great aunt's gardener says red bull switch bad idea" or whatever.

Yeah, the news about Hamilton to Red Bull is the worst offender of this. Older drivers have a nasty habit of mixing in this too. I remember Whitmarsh saying something completely spot on during the time that Hamilton got blasted by either Lauda or Stewart for his driving style. He said something along the lines of that people like that are extremely quotable and that they more often than not just say something like that just to be quoted. This is offcourse also happened again with what you're referencing. I believe it was Jacques Villeneuve that said that he thinks it's a bad idea that he'd switch to Red Bull.

And only now I just realized that I even fucking remember all this drivel.

Aaaand thank you Hamilton!

Webber must feel great about this Horner quote re Hamilton / Vettel...

History dictates that two world-class drivers in the same team has not always been the best pairing. You only have to think of Senna-Prost, Piquet-Mansell, or even Alonso and Hamilton.
Ice cold.

Chili Con Carnage!
rofl that's so mean!

Goes to show how bothered they are about keeping Mark this year, I bet they have some new young guy next year.

Top Gear this week where they got to drive around Monaco.

Never have i ever been more jealous of those guys.

Hamilton should stay, it'll take him a season to settle in and by then RBR might have lost their edge.

haha, wow. Please explain. I don't care much for Ferrari/Alonso, so I don't pay attention to their latest drama/feuds, but I was under the impression that they're working together as a team to bring the car where it belongs...

He is not at all like Schumacher. He is petty jealous and does not inspire confidence. He's a great driver no doubt, a great tactician as well but I don't believe he will deliver long term results for the team. Lewis, if he cares about his career will seek to have at least one spell at the biggest team of them all and quite frankly so does every driver whether they admit it in public or not. I'd bet big money he will one day drive a Ferrari. However first things first, they need to sort out the mess Luca has created post-Todt.

See I wouldn't mind Lewis saying things if he wasn't using double standards and it was delivered in a calm and rational manner. His saying things and retracting and plus just seemingly uneasy nature lately kind of worries me. If he doesn't calm down soon he will end up damaging his career by himself he's way too spontaneous with his actions sometimes. Plus they actually were being nice to him (minus a few harsh comments) so I don't think this was entirely necessary. I dunno anymore.

Is there any reliable weather forecast for this weekend?

Meanwhile, Jonathan Neale from Mclaren downplayed their abysmal Valencia race pace.

Jonathan is usually trustworthy so I think this might actually be news worth listening to

Alonso is staying at Ferrari until 2016. Ferarri wouldn't put on an extra three years for no reason, LDM probably learnt from his mistake with Kimi.

You mean the guy they fired for Alonso right?

Is there no bonus question on the league this eek?

Also, does anyone have a good rundown of the changes they did to the GB track?

Hamilton is nothing like Schumacher in that respect either. He's a fair weather fan towards his own team. When he's winning, it's "yay team!" but his attitude and communication is lacking during down times. A recent example his "I can't go any slower" "I can't go any faster" comments. There are certainly much more "PR" means of delivering that information.

I want Hamilton in a Ferrari sooner or later. I don't expect them to keep Alonso for that long.

I am a McLaren-fan through and through, but Lewis driving for Ferrari would somehow be very, very cool.
However, I don`t believe that Fernando is going anywhere anytime soon. He`s found His Team to dictate/build around him as he see fit, so I do believe that he will see out his career with the prancing horse

Lewis to Ferrari seems unlikely as Ferrari seems to be going through a bit of a slump in a way. Right now, I would guess all the champions would have to stay or have nowhere to go but RBR for the next 2-3 years.

Well atleast in your case it's social events and vacations. I haven't been able to watch a full race live since China. :( For some reason my boss decides to give me early shifts on a GP weekend. The annoying bit is that I always seem to have the day off (or get an evening shift) on the weekends when there's no GP.
