He's won 4 races in which he didn't start pole (based on a quick glance at his wiki). Which on the face of it looks odd, but when you look at how many races he's actually started on pole...

Oh wow, Petrov is the same height as I am. Thought F1 drivers were smaller.

Petrov, Button & Webber are the tallest drivers iirc.

But it's the smaller drivers that are better :p Alonso, Hamilton, Vettel, Kubica :lol

12 wins from pole
3 wins from 2nd
1 win from 3rd

Well, I wont make any comment on the BBC fiasco now, but instead concentrate on quali.

I think this may be a time where Lotus (The green ones) may just pull off a shock, especially as Trulli is now happy with the power steering.

As for the Q1 dropouts, if it is still the "usual" 3 teams to go, I probable expect a STR or Williams dropping out.

I still don't understand the excitement Brundle has in Q1.
He's yelling and screaming like they're driving for pole already.

In Q1 and Q2 all I care about are the 7 drivers who don't make it.

This is starting to be really strange - I'm ok with Rosberg being consistently better than Schumacher during practices and quali, but it really seems that EVERY time they've got near identical times, Rosberg has the tiniest edge. Just look at the way it is now, Schumacher has a 1:23:024 and Rosberg 1:22:996

(I'm sure the times'll change, though)

Do you think Mercedes will go for the s-soft for this session?

Yeah, there's still a second to come out of that top time from Lewis and Seb.

Even so, I think RBR haven't got the same advantage as last year.

Probably.

As they always seem to do, they indeed have went out on the super softs.

Could have been a gamble that could've payed off for Mercedes to not use a set of the super softs. Sees the time could be enough.

EDIT: Rosberg went back in - yeah, they backed out of it. Good for them.

Ok, that was close. Kovalainen is just a few tenths off 17th (Or he was until Maldonardo just improved his time). While the usual lot and Buemi leave Q1, Lotus have made significant progress.

Yeah, that power steering update has helped with handling. I really want them to see some success next season.

Well onto Q2 and a potential battle between Force India and Renault for entry into Q3?

Anyway, on a side note, the 107% for Q1 time was 1:27.288, easily cleared by all of the teams.

"Only second" Martin?

He was on the prime tyre, Vettel was on the option. Not a Hamilton fan by any stretch, but it was pretty damn impressive.

And on Button, "Where did that come from?"

The softer tyre maybe...
