Vettel just too good again. Good to see Webber get another good result. Some pretty good and exciting racing throughout most of the race.

Fantasy related: Damn you Di Resta, I knew I should've stayed with all STR.

Vettel really needs his team mate to step up with equal machinery or have Red Bull lose their car advantage soon or we'll have this Championship decided by Hungary.

Another incredible race. Full of action and not a single crash or safety car. I think today was not an example of DRS being 'cheap' but rather an example of getting the activation zone wrong. It's still early days though, so I'm sure we'll find the sweet spot in time.

Finally, Michael Schumacher. I'm honestly loving watching the man who made Sunday afternoons so boringly predictable in my childhood get humbled every single race weekend by the new generation. I think it's time to let go now, Schumi.

EDIT:

I feel sorry for all the true Spanish F1 fans, who have to deal with all the Fernando fanboys giving them all such a bad reputation.

This. I fucking HATE them. They ruin otherwise a fantastic fan base who we all seem to respect each other and on the whole are very knowledgeable bunch.

Good race today, but Vettel needs to stop winning. DRS was a tad too easy, but hey, I rather see too much overtaking than none at all.

I hope the other teams get their act together so Vettel can actually do some fighting, everything else behind him was much more exciting.

Vettel has this championship in the bag!

He has a nearly 2 race win point advantage and could nearly cruise the rest of the season and win.

Yep. Today was far better than your average Tilke procession but it would've been better if the DRS frame didn't make overtaking so easy.

Who's zipperhead?

edit: Google tells me it's a racial slur. smh.

Vettel is getting his level of lap precision down to near perfection. Newey has designed the most dominant cars in many years. Vettel enjoys a car for the 2011 season that has been tailored for him - the car seems not to be able to accommodate KERS for his tall Aussy teammate. So maximizing the performance for your number one driver and botch it for the second driver seems like a perfect solution to win and stay free of garage battles all at the same time.

The Ferrari looked to sport some serious race pace today. Let's hope McLaren brings some insane upgrades very soon, or we'll have a shit boring season with a champion that wins with such a great advantage that he has time to get out of his car and watch the second fastest car pass the finish line from a lawn chair with an icecream in his hand.

this race didnt need zipperheads gearbox to crack his head wideopen again.

We don't need that kind of language in this thread.

Stop It

Perfectly able to grasp the inherent value of the fishing game.

And as I thought this thread had become all too friendly, an idiot appears.

Anyway, something must be done to stop Vettel, can spike strips be introduced for Catalunya please?

I hope you get fucking banned.

Anyway, that was a great race. I'm a big Alonso fan and that was great driving. Hands down Webber beat him fair and square. Good driving from everyone and yet another exciting race in what's turning out to be a really fun season.

Mclaren did bring some upgrades, but they did not used them due to wet FP1. Why not in FP2, ask Martin Whitmarsh - much larger package is planned for Barcelona. So their car was identical to that from 3 weeks ago - Mercedes brought new stuff, as did Ferrari (new FW,RW, other aerodynamic stuff)

They had balance problems all weekend + their car suffered a lot on bumpy sections. Also, Lewis did stupid mistake in first lap, cooked his tyres and lost lots of time behind his teammate. We will see in Barcelona, what lies ahead for Woking team. Other teams are brining new stuff too.

RBR gains a lot when they are low on fuel, simply dominating on later stages. Their pit crews are blazing fast (3 to 3.5 seconds for pit stop!).

Zipperhead is a racial slur? I thought it meant 'idiot' (head zips up at the back). Learn something new everyday.

While we're not there yet, this championship is starting to look very 2002. Hopefully the other teams start putting on the pressure soon, otherwise we'll be done by Hungary.

If Vettel gets pole in Barcelona which is a given as its the track where they do the car development & testing, he will equal Mika record of being on pole at every race in a season (5 poles in a row).
Total domination by Vettel.

Much better race pace from Ferrari, quali is becoming less important so it is a good step forward.

Just need a few more tenths and I think Fernando could again take the fight to the red bulls.

Also I hope to see Schumacher on the podium this season, I was a Mika fan but it is sad to see a 7 time world champion struggling in the mid-field.

Thankfully with the low level of innovation on the car, the only way is up for Ferrari.
Targeted win by Canada? based on todays push on sheer raw pace, it may be possible.

Ross Brawn said the exact same thing after the race. Qualifying is becoming less important now.
Race pace and tyre management is far more important as you can lose places so so quickly.

Kobayashi is testament to that, he had 2 prime and 3 option sets and managed to gain 13 places to get a point. I don't think we will see many top teams doing two runs in Q3 now and saving a set of options for the race.

While it's really great to see a Ferrari driver on the podium again (lol Massa), I'm wondering when RBR will bring their upgrades. Just to destroy the efforts of the other teams, you know?
