The ideal scenario would be to dump/farm Magnussen and pair Alonso and Button for the next two seasons. The Stoff can dominate GP2 in 2015, then live and breathe McLaren in 2016, learn from two of the best before he replaces Button.


Why did McLaren dump Paffett? A place for Magnussen or are Honda bringing Kobayashi with them as a test driver?

It's too soon. Give Honda a year to get the engine down and give Stoff all the in-season testing opportunities and bring him in for 2016 if he wins the GP2 title next year.

There was no shakedown for Fernando in Fiorano with the f2012, it was snowing that day, and they went straight to the first test with the car if I remember correctly.


The Italian press is going to write a lot of BS.

Italian press are in panic mode, they have lost their minds.

So looks like KMag then, sad to see Button go bit ah well. If this brings more Danish investment (remember Ron is trying to raise cash to buy more shares) then so be it. I don't believe Alonso would prefer Button either, he would want to be the de facto number 1 after his last McLaren experience.

Read a quote from Button that he is desperate to stay, he knows the car is going to be good.

Last time he thought the next car would be "good", this ended up being McLaren's worst car since the mid-1990s.

Yeah but things are a little different now, whole new design team with Peter P as the boss, works team status, new management structure. Lots of optimism going around.

Didn't Prodromou get there like two months ago? He will have no influence at all on the 2015 car. That thing was designed almost a year ago.

I would have thought that too but look at the front wing they have knocked out in 9 weeks, an exact replica of the Red Bull. I'm am convinced the MP4-30 will have plenty of Prodromou influence.

Seems Sky F1 was talking shit with the Wednesday McLaren announcement - Button is doing some street demo on Thursday with Hakkinen and Magnussen in Edinburgh.

The Jense getting whored out to the day they dump him in the gutter :(
