The Game ft. 50 Cent - Envy Me

You heard West Side Story.
You heard Higher.
Of course you heard How We Do.
The next single off of The Game's Documentary album is entitled "Envy me". This has a somewhat of an old school vibe to it. Warning... you might just like it.

Listening to it now......50's verse at the beginning is good....games second verse is good.....Like the style of this song a lot. Hey do you have links to download those other songs as well.... i have the Games - Untold Story album and have not been to impressed with it but this is a lot more promising. Thanks.

"Untold Story" is not all that impressive. You're able to see the difference in Game's style, presentation, and lyrics between the tracks on the new album (that have been released as of yet) and the old one courtesy of Dre's mentoring.
"The Documentary" is coming out January 11th from what I know. It hasn't even leaked out onto mIRC yet.

Game is wack.

Wack

Dre has no eye for talent whatsoever.

You need to be up on that Slim Thug [Advance]. Heavy rotation around these parts.

Dead serious.

All is lil' protege's have never even come out! Snoop was the only one. What was dude's name that featured on the Chronic 2001? Hitman or something...

He didn't discover Eminem, so don't even use that example.

You guys never saw that episode of that blind date show (forgot the name) w/ Game on it before he was 'The Game'? B!tch ass had a tongue ring. A tongue ring!!

And why is there a 'The' in front of Game.

WACK!

yeah he hasnt really discovered any really good talent but that doesnt distract from his producing skills of course which are excellent.

Okay. Whethere they've put out records or haven't been heard fromin a while isn't the point I'm trying to make, but hear me out.

- N.W.A. (he's the one who put them together after the World Class Wrecking Kru)
- Above the Law (I could be wrong about this one though)
- CPO (can't fuck with "To Hell and Black")
- The D.O.C.
- Lady of Rage
- RBX
- The Dogg Pound
- Devin (largest exposure he ever had was on Chronic 2K1)
- Eminem (no he didn't discover him, but what was he doing before him? Winning Skribble Jam and putting out tripe like "infinite" isn't what made him a household name)
- Last Emperor
- as you said, Snoop Dogg
- and yeah, the God got fucked, but Rakim WAS signed to Aftermath for a while.

Damn, I was just about to start a thread about that album. Pretty great isn't it?

Great? Nope. Entertaining? Yup! Well produced? Yup!

I've been listening to it for almost 3 months tho... Kind of tired of it.

I don't feel like itemizing that list for the sake of correction, but you have it all fucked up. Devin's first album was very well known and received. It came out 2 years before the 2nd Chronic.

Also, naming a bunch of people that were on the OG Chronic doesn't mean he discovered them. C'mon now.

That said, even if that were the case, compare all those cats to 'The Game', and the disparity in talent is laughable.

His cell phone commercial song (Whole City Behind Us) is better.

OMG! We agree on something. He killed that verse on the full version of the song.

Well, if you want to get technical. :p Seriously though I just listened to it for the first time today that's probably why I'm praising it so highly.

I don't know anymore... rappers are more real and creative when they don't have shit. They often peak coming up, but they slowly go down hill. Eminem sucks ass... He totally lost his passion. Fifty topped before he became famous. Power of the Dollar shits all over whatever he's done since. Whatever...

Production is tighter than ever though. I love the beat.

Wrong. "Devin the Dude" - the one with him sitting on the toilet, smoking a blunt - came out in 1998. Two years before the ORIGINAL chronic. And before that, he was in "Da Odd Squad". Very well known and received for being Rap-a-Lot releases, but he REALLY blew up after The Chronic II. Source

Wait, wait. If nobody had ever heard of the people on the original Chronic before, what exactly constitutes a "discovery" to you?

But that isn't what we're talking about. Are we talking about discoveries or measuring peoples' talents?

I may not know a lot of things, but I know my damn hip-hop.

Your reading comprehension is on 'E'. I said exactly that! 2 years before The Chronic 2001.

In regards to discovering talent... Yes, it's implied that the discovery has at least some talent.

I wasn't wrong at all. I never even mentioned who Devin was w/ before his albums dropped.

Stop going to the Sauce for knowledge on the topic. The Sauce is garbage.

It's all good man but just so you know, I'm more than happy to have an arguement with you about anything as long as you don't talk down to me. As Duane would say, PEACE.

You're kidding me right?

We're all entitled to our own opinions.

Personally, I think Game has skill.

And of course Fifty's best was in Power of a Dollar. His slur really fucked up his flow.

And why is there a 'The' in front of Game.

Pretty Good but not his best. I still think his best work so far is on The Game - Live From Compton (2CD). Hope it gets better on the retail album.

I still love Slow doe... is better than no doe...

His whole style,charisma,flow... all rocked. Anyways getting shot in the mouth complicates things.

The Game ain't wack... he comes of pretty tight some times. Why did whoever have to mention he had a tongue ring? That changes everything...

Wait, you own a hip-hop label and you've never heard of anyone saying "hold your head"? It's like, when you get frustrated and all you can do is put your hand on your head.

LOL, I just read it too quickly, and thought you was like "Oh no, not them again". I guess I should take my time to read more thoroughly.

Honestly, the only track I like here is "Dreams" - and that's due more to Kanye West's production than anything else. "Higher" slaughters all of these tracks, though.

I heard Envy Me when leaving the drive-thru today and had to turn it up. It's tight. Could someone PM me a good site for hip-hop torrents? RIP Suprnova. Certain search sites I now have to use don't find shit for some of this stuff. Where can I peep the Lil Thug Advance? PEACE.
