Thanks for that!! I thought they were two different models.
Edit:
I can't get off Gundam Planet...Why is Wing Gundam Ver Ka so fucking sexy? It's a bit boring on the show, but holy shit that MG is sexy as fuck.
I think I'm in the minority but I don't like most of the ver. Ka Wing redesigns. I think I liked some of them at first but the more time passes the more I realize I like the Okawara designs best. On the Wing, the color scheme doesn't seem to have any particular purpose and it's too bright, the design itself seems like largely an afterthought, stealing 90% of the Wing Zero EW's body wholesale, the accessories don't have the personality of the original (the original Wing's shield opens up and a burst of steam or cold air or something shoots out along with the beam saber - awesome!), and the wings are these big, blocky things which aren't as coordinated as the little 'feathers' of the original Wing. The Okawara design has this '90s charm to it I love like those yellow vents right near the chest gem, and it has some other nice touches not on the Katoki design like those thrusters on the back of the legs.
The only Katoki redesign I definitely like more than the original is Altron. Altron TV is an overdesigned mess. As a kid, I thought it was kinda cool but I didn't really process everything that was going on with it because there was so much going on. Looking at it now, it has way too much and the elements don't all really mesh. It kept the Shenlong's shield but it's kinda like a useless appendage now. The twin dragon fangs and double beam trident are fine, a pretty standard upgrade for a Gundam. Cool. But the wings are just too much. No reason for Altron to have wings or a tail laser for that matter. I guess Okawara was going for a dragon motif but he lays it on too thick. It's the same reason I don't like the Deathscythe Hell EW. Deathscythe Hell TV tries the same idea of "Death" as a MS but doesn't lay it on so thick
and has that awesome beam cloak which deflects everything. Cool! (and because the cloak isn't always in the TV version whenever it is open it gives a feeling of "it's time for business")
