Spent a week in Hokkaido and came across a few neat items.
I've definitely seen the Gundam Converge Capule figure at shops in Tokyo, but this one was considerably cheaper. Seeing as how it's one of my favorite mobile suits, I couldn't pass it up. Unfortunately, while the box clearly shows the Capule from ZZ, the one inside is from Turn A. I love Turn A too, so it's not so bad that I'd try to get a refund, but it's still disappointing since I was excited to get the blue one (don't think there's an official gunpla of the ZZ version).
This Hygogg (another favorite MS) is from a figure series I haven't seen, and was maybe 500 yen. Due to the age of it, the plastic packaging came off the backing board cleanly, and almost by itself while removing the plastic wrapping from the shop. It doesn't have very good balance, but damn if it doesn't look great! It came with a really old piece of chewing gum in the package (same as the Capule above), which my wife explained as being included in these toys in order to be able to be sold in the candy aisle at stores. It has a left hand, a closed missile for the left hand, and then the open/firing missile for the left hand.
Finally, the Japanese CD maxi single for the 08th MS Team opening, and the opening for the Miller's Report OVA. I've never seen a CD form-factor like this outside of Japan, and have been meaning to pick one up just out of curiosity.
