The Gundam |OT2| Another 5 years of Gunpla, Origins, and GUNDAMUUUU!

Those two died bitching about Lalah. Something they never once discussed in Zeta, they just lost their marbles during CCA.

Uh... no? They mention lala all the time in zeta. Quarto is definitely not over her in it, judging by the fact he consistently hopes every new type he senses he hopes is lalah, and amuro refuses to go into space because he is afraid of sensing here.

Not to mention amuro blaming char for allowing history to repeat itself when four dies.

My god my memory is bad. Damn those guys never got over her, no wonder why all their relationships fell to shit. Didn't he think Kamille was Char in the first episode?

finished making HG Dreissen, the last two gunpla I've made have been the one that I find weird and unique, I know nothing about them since I haven't watch any UC shows, but theyre pretty fun to made. especially Ashimar, the way it can transform into plane is cool.

I think I'll make Guren Type-02 from Code Geass next, I've been saving this for quite some time. :D

Grimgerde Jehuty Custom

Grimgerde seems like it got plenty of custom. I've seen these grimgerde custom that looks cool also.

Are we still not posting scans? Because apparently that Astaroth comes with a sword that looks exactly like Cloud's Buster Sword.

Actually, it has the shoulder pauldron and armor on the forearm too...

Astaroth is Cloud Strife Gundam confirmed.

Nope. No scans.

Wanba see this weapon though.

Just saw it.

Aside from the color its much closer to the serrated blade in the Fusion Sword Cloud carrires in Advent then the Buster.

i just got in... Oooooo those are nice!!!!!
Lol thanks :) The biggest issue is that while Wing Gundam EW/Ver Ka has two MGs as regular releases they are exactly the fucking same aside from VERY slight color changes and are EASILY the worst Wing MGs but I love it so much I keep buying them.

I hope whenever Wing Zero EW eventually gets a 2.0 the Wing will follow as a regular release instead of a P Bandai so I can have a MG that can easily hold its weapon.

i see i'm not up to date w/ the variations of MG or wing. so that's informative.

you're crazy about Gundam Wing =D!!!!

Well I am for parts of it.

Katoki is a deity of mecha designers and his work on Wing was and is the pinnacle of Gundam design (weirdly I think Okawara's Wing TV designs are some of worst mecha ever) though his Unicorn work is also fabulous.

My roommate and I have been binge watching Gundam and now we are both super interested in getting into Gunpla. We have experience with modeling from miniature wargames, but where would you guys recommend we start? Is there a good tutorial site, or a good introduction page somewhere? Should we just pick up a couple HG kits and assemble them or could we start with MG?

HG and SD are the easiest to start.

Yup out can go straight MG though, I'd suggest something from Wing (Not Wing Ver Ka/Wing Zero EW) Gundam X or SEED Line (Strike RM, Blitz, Duel, Buster) as they are all good starter MGs.

I am very strongly leaning toward getting one of the Talgeese line in MG and my roommate is more leaning toward the Wing Gundam line. Which kits for those two would you recommend for beginners?

The Wing Gundam Proto Zero is awesome for beginners. It's an improvement of the Wing Gundam Zero - EW and will be a great way to get into the hobby.

Sadly, no clue about the Talgeese. :(

Tallgeese only really has Tallgeese EW as Tallgeese 2 and 3 are very expensive cause they where online exclusive. Its an okay suit, still pretty simple but not as much as the Gundams from Wing.

As far as a Wing Gundam? Master Grade Wing Gundam TV (which was touched up by Katoki) is going to be far better starting out then Wing Ver Ka, Wing Zero EW, Wing Proto Zero, or Wing Fience Renasicita. It has almost no small parts to concern with and it has less gimicks then the others.

If you like Sandrock EW i would say its probably the best as far as starter MGs go.

Sigh, I've made quite a few Gunplas until now and the first time I got a SD one, I broke a part. What's worse, it was Banshee's horn, which can't be bought on Bandai's Gunpla site selling parts... If glue doesn't work, I think I'll just throw it away, since it wasn't that expensive.

In more positive news, Gundam Breaker 3 is coming out this week and I couldn't be more hyped for it!

Look on the bright side, it could have been a leg.

Honestly, any Gundam that's got a lot of white parts is probably easiest. I would say it doesn't really matter whether or not you go with a MG or HG, the biggest difference for beginners getting into Gunpla is that MG takes more time to build (and may be offputting if you're not into that modeling). Just choose a Gundam you like and you'll do fine. I suggest you buy clippers and a xacto knife to start off in terms of tools

I really want that shenlong hhhnnnnngggg.
I had a little bit of time last night while my SO played some Captain Toad and so I started it.

I've built the XXXG frame so much that I'm just flying through the kit, the head and chest are already done after like thirthy minutes with a full clean and panel lining.

I'll make sure to post picks of both it and Rouge once I have them done :)

Go to Barnes and noble and pick up some of the hg kits of your choice. You won't need anything to build them since the runners/plastic is weaker than mg. they have a Barbatos, freedom, and rx-78 usually in stock. Avoid real grades till you built a mg. next thing you will want are you some hobby pliers or w.e because you won't be able to use your hands on mg runners and a hobby knife to trim parts.

Lawd have mercy I would not recommend non of the wing kits for beginners but eh wth believe in ourself

Well you're in luck, my daughter was working on her SD Knight Zero so I got in some more time while I was sitting with her and finished off the arms and legs. So the whole body is complete aside from Waist, so I'll get that finished up with the accessories and post them up for ya

Sweet thanks. You build these things quickly. I just got my Tamiya basic set. Time to open the box...

Lol well when you don't decal it's not hard to go quickly.

Plus MG Wing stuff is super simple with almost zero gimmicks to them, so that makes things a breeze.

Damn need to slow down on typing, or better yet use my pc when on Gaf so I can cut back on those typos.

Well I just finished the first half of the chest piece easy enough.

HG Revive OG Gundam. Which colors for panel lining go with what again?
Hmm.

I think that Grey for white parts, blue for blue and orange for yellow is what most would say is best.

I love high contrast though so I go black on white and I know many hate that, you'll get a good view with how white Shenlong is.

Grey for white parts, black for everything else (though you could use brown for red/yellow pieces if you want)
Ok, This isn't too bad, it's kind of fun watching a bag full of plastic shit turn into something, though a pain in the ass if you get some small thing wrong. Had to separate the torso because I put some grey ball thing in upside down, lol.
