Also fansubs for Thunderbolt episode 3 are out, though some people say that the translation is a bit wonky since it's Japanese -> Spanish -> English with some lines just ripped from Zeonic's translation of the manga.

wait so thunderbolts is over now?
As far as I'm concerned it never even began....wait so thunderbolts is over now?
Such as?
Goddess they had such a great design with Ultra 78 Magnus and then to have this ugly as hell thing breaks my heart. Just eww.It takes place 6-7 months after the Battle of A Bao A Qu, but the mechanical design for the Atlas Gundam doesn't look like it's from the same era. The in-narrative justification is that it's a wacky prototype that uses limbs that are reverse engineered from Zeon's amphibious suits.
Personally, I think the cockpit area kind of reminds me of the GP0X series of Gundams from Stardust Memory, so it could kind of lead into that.
The 2nd arc also introduces a new faction called the South Seas Alliance which seems to be an extremist religious faction that is trying to break away from the Earth Federation after the war. They use a mixture of Federation and Zeon mobile suits, sometimes mixing their parts together, because their job during the war was to go into areas where battles had taken place and salvage what they could. They end up in possession of the Psycho Zaku and recover the scientist guy who told Karla to cut off Daryl's other arm as well as Claudia, the Federation commander/Io's girlfriend. Because of this, both the Federation and the Zeon Remnants want to recover that tech from the SSA, and start sending special units there.
Speaking of the Zeon remnants, Thunderbolt says that half of Zeon's forces refuse to recognize the Armistice and are still fighting on Earth. Their main base is a space battleship that has been converted into a submarine motherbase.

Why is there an Orbital Frame in my Gundam?
There's no COCKpit though. Looks like something out of Full Metal Panic. Why is there an Orbital Frame in my Gundam?
Sahelanthropus was the least of MGS V's problems though.Worked for MGSV.
I like Thunderbolt.

Oh wow gotchaAll 4 episodes are technically out in Japan. I do hope they continue it since the manga is still ongoing, but some diehard UC fans might be put off by some of the liberties they take in the second arc.
I like Thunderbolt. It feels like a Gundam fanfic by a big military otaku with great production values. The manga art is great.
Yeah, it kind of is in fan fiction territory.
Couldn't you say that about any derived work that isn't by the original creator/author? Though from an interview with the author, it seems like Bandai gave him a lot of free reign which is kind of surprising
sameMy Gundam intake has slowed down dramatically after finishing my MG RX-78-2 and IBO. I haven't made any progress on G-Reco. I'm in the process of trying to figure out what kit I want to build next. GundamGAF help me decide. Currently I've build a GM Custom, Ez8, and RX-78-2. I feel like I need some enemy mobile suits so I'm thinking either the RG Zaku II or the Gouf Custom. I want to build an IBO kit, though I wish they had an actual MG Barbatos.
Anyway, I think my list is:
RG Zaku II
HG/MG Gouf Custom
MG Ball Ver Ka
1/100 Barbatos
HG Graze (of some sort)
Further down the road I really want to build the MG Nu Gundam and Sazabi, but I'm not feeling those yet.
I can't decide if the Gouf or the Dom is my favorite Zeon suit. The Gouf is a cooler Zaku and the Dom. I haven't read The Origin, but I saw the kits for the prototype Dom and Gouf and those look great. I really like seeing the Zaku influences in the prototype Dom.
Build a Gouf. Eveybody knows the manliest of Zeke men pilot a Gouf.

Who is Zudah and how is he manlier than Ramba Ral and Norris Packard?Too bad the manliest Zeke pilots a Zudah.
The Gouf Custom is still a super solid kit, so I'd recommend that over the RG Zaku. Unless you really want a RG, in which case I'd go with a Mk. II or an Exia. RG Zaku still had some kinks to work out, but it's not as much of a frag grenade as some other RGs. I'd also get the MG Gouf 2.0 over the Custom. MG Custom has trouble with its gatling.
MG DX is fun but simple build.Definitely the HGUC Gouf Custom. The proportions are absolutely perfect, the build is enjoyable, and the gimmicks are pretty great. If you'd rather a MG kit, I'd strongly suggest the MG Gouf 2.0 over the Gouf Custom, really one of the highlights from the MG line, and with eight years of engineering advancements over the Custom. It really shows during the build, especially the energy cables, they're tedious on the 2.0, but they're not the nightmare on the custom. But between the two, definitely the HGUC Gouf Custom.
I myself am itching for a new MG kit, most recent kits are the Wing Zero, Hi-Nu ver. Ka, RX-78-2 Origin version, and Hyaku-Shiki 2.0.
Anyone have any suggestions for a really fun build?

Well that's a cool suit with like no armor on it. I have never seen that before, in anything.Zudah is manly because it is basically a Zaku with more fast but the added drawback of blowing up if it goes too fast. It's in IGLOO, but it's cooler in the hands of Wolfgang from Mobile Suit Gundam: Hunter of Black Clothes. It also just looks cool.
The HG has a neato huge anti-ship gun that it can actually hold in a firing pose.

I always heard IGLOO was bad so I just kept ignoring it.

gotta bump this on repeat when running Gouf teams in EXVS
Oh my fuck that thing is sick.So I believe when we had that discussion before about RGs I had mentioned 00 Raiser was my favorite. Not only did it come with a whole mess of accessories and looked just amazing, it was a pretty fun build.
Well it just got beat.
(Well, aside from the build, since basically 80% of it was building Wing Zero EW again but in different colors. And the panel lining is a bit thick due to my marker issues but I managed without it looking horrendous.)
Maybe I just never fully explored the articulation of Zero aside from that kneeling pose. Maybe I honestly just love the design. RG Wing EW, when completed, just blew me away. Hell, I have the MG but it can't hold a candle to this.
One note, yes the hand droops when holding the Buster Rifle. But you can sort of cheat it by having the arm positioned upwards a bit so the rifle will droop right where you want it to, like I did in the above pic.
Have some more pics. And a few shots together with the HGAC Wing.
Oh, and Bird Mode just looks, to use an age-old phrase, fucking sick.
