The Gundam |OT2| Another 5 years of Gunpla, Origins, and GUNDAMUUUU!

So the Crossbone special announcement was...

*drumroll*

Crossbone Gundam Dust will begin serialization in Gundam ACE in September. "The story of the new manga series occur after Mobile Suit Victory Gundam in the Universal Century 168"

Sorry for those hoping it was an anime.

Metal Build Destiny main body done with lining and decal, just weapons and wings left, which may take even longer because they looks huge.

Maybe the main character is adult Karlmann.
Though I would imagine adult Uso to be pretty messed up. Bruh has seen some shit.

Actually, that would make more sense. UC 168 would mean that Karlmann is 16 now, which is pretty much perfect Gundam main character age.

Uso has gotten 15 years of healing and comfort. Unless there were more side stories in-between, he's might be alright by now. But it would be interesting to see what his reaction would be to piloting again.

Amuro and Char proved that all the time in the world ain't healing shit.

MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM UNICORN RE:0096 Episode 4 – Full Frontal's Pursuit

Okay they had another very abrupt ending that felt so awkward, he had barely just finishing saying his line before the credits rolled. Surely they could have made the scene longer or had the music cut in slightly before that, instead of line->credits?

I liked the summary at the start as it was a great way to get caught up and review things
guess I missed when Banagher had actually acknowledged and called Cardeas "Father" before he died

Audrey Hepburn is kind of selfish, she would really want to run away with Banagher (sacrificing everyone on board their ship) and then hide away and destroy the Gundam? Didn't she realize how awesome it was and how it could be used to stop war? Hopefully Banagher tells her his mission to protect everyone so she can see the light. Or perhaps she will see it as she realizes how epic the second coming of the Red Comet is, it was moving like three times the speed of everyone else and practically untouchable.

I kind of hope Riddhe survives though, he was a good addition to the cast and voiced by OIKAWA's va!.

Unicorn has a good fleet of characters, Banagher, Takuya, pilot of the green mobile suit with the wings and bits, and now Riddhe. Continued prayers that all survive to the end.

I really wish we could have a late-UC series where the earthsphere isn't a total mess. Victory really painted a bleak picture.

I love futuristic stories that aren't completely dystopian. The few scenes where you see characters going about regular daily life stuff in 0079~0093 are some of my favorites. Something that tends to happen a bit more often in the Macross shows that take place in the colonization fleets.

But Macross is a more optimistic show than Gundam. Imagine the fan reaction if after Hikaru finally declared his love for Misa he got turned into a vegetable.

True, I guess I just would like an optimistic UC Gundam show. I've loved Macross Delta so far.

Or at least, be optimistic for a while and go full Tomino in the last few episodes.

Holy shit. At least you don't sleep on Gunpla boxes then. Why are the Japanese Transformer toys better than the American ones?

they're not, takara is the company that makes them, then hasbro brings them over to the U.S. either untouched or with a few color differences. the only issue is hasbro may or may not bring certain ones to the us and when they do, it's like a year later. so people reason, why not just grab the import?

You do realize most of the Earth's topography is destroyed, right? Macross City is the only major city. Gundam's Earth is more intact.

I know the planet has been essentially nuked a thousand times over but they still find the time to go to a nice concert of all things, and have relationships that aren't verbal boxing matches like with Kamille and Fa.

I had no idea, it's been awhile since I've looked at Transformer toys, those look really nice.

But that kind of sort of was ZZ.

I'm holding off on my ZZ rewatch until the BDs are out, but the first half of ZZ isn't really what I'm going for. From what I remember it was 10 episodes of messing about in a junkyard to start off, but it has been a while.

Stuff where the characters are just in the environment on a colony, or a city on the moon, the civilian transportation stuff I've always thought was neat, a big contrast to the big robots and shit going down in the background.

They used to be significantly cheaper when they did come out. You'd pay like $70 for MP Grimlock when he was like $150 in Japan. With the weak yen and Hasbro raising MP prices, that benefit has gone away. The only reason to wait this point is if you really prefer a toy style deco for some character, like Soundwave having a yellow visor.

I am making the bet that Hasbro will put out the other MP Seekers over here that are exclusive in Japan for a significantly lower price, so in that case I'm hoping the waiting will work out. I can't see paying $200+ for Skywarp and the Coneheads.

The MP line is amazing. The only figure from the whole modern series (Post Prime Ver. 2) that'd I call bad is Star Saber. He's a rushed QC mess, but the rest has been one of the most consistent toy lines I've ever seen. So good.

Takara also typically brings out the stuff Hasbro creates for the US market as well with alternate (And sometimes significantly better) paint jobs and a premium price. The Combiner Wars line Hasbro has put out here has also been pretty awesome for the price. It's a pretty great time to be TF buyer.

Was debating buying some of the MP transformers before I moved to Japan, and now when I visit a major city hobby/anime/figure shop and see them I'm always tempted when I see a Starscream or other favorite jet units. They are hecka expensive, especially after they have been out a while.

Random question, anyone have a decent idea of what color paint to use for MG Aegis gundam? Not going to paint the whole thing just want to cover up runner cut/nub sanding. It's an odd color of not exactly red lol. Maybe... pink and a darker color? brown?

All this is true.

Plus I have to reiterate how fucking awesome some of the Takara repaints are, like Ultra Magnus looks 100000x better then his NA release.

So good news and bad news. The bad news is that apparently the runners on the Freedom 2.0 are specifically labeled "Freedom" although whether or not that's all or some of them I have to see. The good news is that creepy Athrun bust is still a sign that I'm taking to mean we've got another Athrun MG - Hopefully the Justice - On the way. Posing the Freedom and Aegis together is too odd, I say!

Turn A is my favorite Gundam series. I'm due for a re-watch.
I need to rewatch it and then finish the god damn show. I stopped at the last 10 last year.

Those idiots were faffing about doing bullshit for more than just 10 eps. The show is fine on a second watch, but my god the first watch is painful. Zeta may have a fuck ton of melodrama and bitch smacking, but at least it's consistent.

Got four episodes left in Turn A

Can we talk about how Harry is FUCKING AMAZING

THIS GUY
Coincidentally I'm only about half way through Turn A right now. Though he's finally getting more screen time and I'm enjoying him.

Turn A is really quite something.
