The Gundam |OT2| Another 5 years of Gunpla, Origins, and GUNDAMUUUU!

Finally got around to Island Wars.

I think you guys were a little too hard on it. I mean, it's not great but it's not bad or terrible either. It had its moments.

Finally caught Island Wars as well. I'll preface this by saying I don't really like the original Build Fighters or Try, so I think that's important going in.

It wasn't good. It was far from the worst things I've seen and I think it was on par with some of the mediocre episodes of the BF franchise, but there wasn't really anything special here. The characters still mostly suck and no one really did anything interesting in this. It doubled down on the horrible stupid alien dimension lore that dragged down season 1 so much, which was sad to see. I was mostly here for the animation here, and though that had its moments, on the whole it honestly didn't even look great.

The new models weren't even that good. The ZZ-II was cool, but other than that I felt nothing towards the new kits. The new Quan[t] had potential, but it felt like a lazy custom overall and the cat ears on it were terrible and ugly. I was really sad to see there was no new Winning Gundam upgrade as that was far and away the most interesting Try custom. The Gyancelot was lame as well despite the hype and i think it loses a lot of the charm the original Gyan had, not to mention that Gyanko is still super fucking annoying. I was happy to see the Kamiki Burning get some extra screen time just so we can get a sense of what it can do. I wish it had use that giant sword it was carrying around and its special attack was the most stupid thing imaginable, but it still was a good looking upgrade to the Burning.

Yeah, overall I was not enthused. Like I said, I've seen worse even just within the Build Fighters sublime, but there was nothing here that was super interesting. At least this episode was self contained and we didn't have to suffer a whole season of manufactured stakes before the heroes won. Assuming we get another Build Fighters series after the OVA from the original show, I hope they get some better mech designers working on it given how lazy most of the Island Wars designs were.

Finished rewatching Gundam Wing (thought this time subbed). I think I prefer the dub but I do like the JPN voices still everyone felt as I knew them already. I just couldnt ever get the Lady Une, didnt they say her name differently in the dub.

Final episode of Wing is still one of the best, Heero so epic and everyone just smiling and acknowledging him. I need more.

Look wise it's a beauty. White Zeta 2.0 is maybe the best MG ever released look wise.

Great piece to go with Shiki, ZZ, Queb, and MKII.

Just don't trust it to stand on those ankles.
Oo nice I am going to look into those. Shiki is an obvious buy for sure

Definitely get the Shiki 2.0, it's honestly one of the best MGs and my favorite after the Nu ver Ka.

The Zeta 2.0 is pretty decent besides the ankle's, and maybe the torso is a little fragile. Other than that getting it to hold the hyper mega launcher is a pain, but that's a pretty minor issue really.

I hear the PSP game(s) were pretty good, and do a much better job of telling the same story.

AGE's biggest problem, to me (besides how bad the second half of the Kio arc) is how rushed the pacing is. The Flit (who is a pretty awesome character, especially as an adult) arc and ... I forgot what the son's name was... arc felt WAY too brisk and didn't have time to really develop like they should. Especially since they throw in so many characters in each arc.

The fights are also pretty boring.

The MG Marasai looks great as well, especially if you throw in a LED.
Extra fun if you give it the Ballute from one of the many Hyaku Shikis:

Gundam 80(war in pocket) episode 4

So fucking good. I haven't that much blood in a gundam series in while if I don't count thunderbolt.

Also it is was my first time seeing the kampfer in anaimation.

the kampfer needs a 2.0/ revive mg kit right now.

Wouldn't say it looks terribly good on the Hyaku-Shiki either, but if I remember, it's the one that's just yellow plastic:

Gimmie an Alex and a Kampfer 2.0 and I'll be really happy. Probably pretty unlikely, though. Wouldn't mind a Zaku II Kai either, the proportions on the HGUC are pretty iffy. Pie in the sky wish: MG Mass Produced Guncannon.

I think the final episode trumps that one for me, but 0083 is pretty damn great in general.

So what's the over/under on Mika being unable to move by the end of season 2?

Also I like how these new Tekkadan guys look so far (pompadour, lmao)

So, that Build Fighters manga suit I posted last page: name is Lunagazer. Base is the Hyaku Shiki and Stargazer Gundam. Apparently Lady Kawaguchi's mech before she earned that title.

I don't care if it's P-Bandai, if it gets a kit, I WILL get it.

6 months later, MG Aegis has arms now! Weirdly complex kit, but going to try and finish it in the next week, legs, weapons, some water slides, and finally matted top coat. And omfg its stiff in places. Like struggling to raise the arms.

that giant fuel tank is crazy. I know it will be able to pose on a stand if you lower it some.

also this kit is going to be the most expensive one on the market starting at 95 bucks.

the real question is what will be the p-bandai exclusive? hangar bay?

Welp, I put down for the HGCE Blast Impulse. I was worried because I'd waited a while and all my usual outlets had sold out, but I found them still in stock at USAGundamStore. I didn't know about this place but they've got some decent prices.

MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM UNICORN RE:0096 Episode 20 – Laplace's Box

We endured this for twenty episodes and then they reveal the the box is an charter and a prayer. This was really a huge let down. Why couldnt it be a newer and more powerful gundam, something that would lead the world to peace like the Justice and Freedom did in Seed???

Conversation was still very good and Banagher too. Especially when we got all the answers and the broadcast to the Earth Sphere. I want next weeks episode already.

Because that can not exist?

Unicorn and whatever they had would fall short of the monsters that are Xi and Penelope from Flash.

You do realize the point of the box is that it was a conspiracy 100 years in the making, right? The first mobile suits were only about 22 years old. The first gundam was only 17. Why would the box be a gundam?

Not saying that the reveal of the box was great. It's problematic in a lot of ways. But jeez man.

The box was right in front of DTL's face the whole time in the ED. Donald Trump wishes he had Riddhe's pivoting skills.

I just wanted something tangible, not an "idea" :(

Ideas can become tangible. It's a problematic retcon anyways. It basically doesn't affect the universe in anything other than maybe a Unicorn sequel. We already have a lot of stuff that's takes place after Unicorn (0096) that's been around for decades.

Why can't the passage to peace be just another more powerful Gundam? Lol DTL wants Celestial Being to pop up. I kind of sort of want DTL to watch Macross 7.

To be honest, if Laplace's Box really was some ultra Gundam, that would be fucking hilarious despite being completely nonsensical.

Basically, it should have been the Turn A.

I actually really like the reveal. Usually the hype behind something so big doesn't deliver but when that was revealed I thought, "Wow, yeah, that really would turn the world upside down. No wonder the people in power didn't want it coming to light."

I can't speak for it making sense in the whole continuity because I'm not familiar with post-Unicorn stuff, but I like it, if just as its own thing.

As some super Gundam? Come on, man. That would be lame. The show really does a good job of messing with your expectations. The whole time these head hanchos are talking about how Laplace's Box could upturn the world as if it were a weapon, and in the end it's a legal charter and a hope for the future. It's all rather positive in a setting filled with selfish powerplays and I'm glad Unicorn could finish on that note.

As others have noted too, an MS would make no sense at all in continuity (even looking at just Unicorn by itself), and a weapon might have been acceptable if suspect unless it's handled very well.

My problem is thus.
1~In the context of the franchise, Zeon Deikun's new type philosophy and his discourse on the reformation of man was supposed to be such a revolutionary concept that it sparked an uprising. Having a fairly conservative government dream it up 60 years prior is kind of weird.

2- the phrasing of the article is so odd. It feels awkward. No legal document would have something like that on there

I'm perfectly fine with it beine an idea. In fact, that ties back to the conversation that full frontal and banagher have in ova 2 about how am idea can change the world. I just feel that it could have been executed just a little better

The box should have just been documents showing that the earth government set up the entire Zeon Wars as a powerplay a whole 70 years in advance.
Going full 00, Zeon Deikun was just a part of their plan. God, that would have been so stupid.

I actually like what the box was, but the execution maybe could have been better.

I just finished episode 15 of G Gundam which finished the arc of episodes in Shinjuku. This show just keeps getting better. I would be get a MG of shining Gundam right now, but I believe that it gets another form or something at some point so I'll hold off on getting it, since I don't want to spoil myself trying to find out. I also want to grab a gouf and the ver. ka of Sazabi to go with my Nu Gundam.
