I think in Seed it was pretty much stated that Athrun is a bit shy and timid. Dude's a genius but I don't think he was alpha enough to be able to help Shinn. I think he wanted to and tried, but he just didn't really know how. He's not a manipulator or anything and Athrun has his own issues to contend with. Shinn wasn't on the Argama with Quattro and Emma and Fa and he didn't receive an epic Wong beat down or travel the world or meet and learn from Amuro, he got the Seed cast. Shinn's kind of like Sara with Paptimus.

Got Gundam Breaker 3 today and played for a few hours, really fun game I'm interested to see when kits I own in real life get unlocked. It makes me wish for an extreme vs. on PS4. Also reached the point in G Gundam when Domon gets the God Gundam so now I'm about to begin the tournament arc.

Man, I almost got into an accident this morning.

Some ass hole cut me off on the freeway, then breaker hsrd. Luckily I was paying full attention or else id probsbly be dead. I was able to maneuver out of harm"

Right after, the forest thing I said aloud to my self was "That was some Newtype level shit you did, bud"

I watch way too much gundam.

Glad your safe! But yeah I do similar things haha, I always have a random Gundam quote or moment pop into my head when things happen. Maybe we need to disconnect from this for a while...

The gundam movies are legit. And very fast paced.

I am definitely noticing stuff missing but the main stuff and characters are all there.


This is definitely a good way for people to to start gundam.

The cost is the only reason that I haven't bought The Origin yet; the cost for even half of it is already at PG prices, let alone the entire thing.

Prefer the TV series overall, but I will forever maintain that Movie 3 is how the last few episodes should be seen. The animation improvement is huge, and the ending is the GOAT.

It wasn't too bad purchasing them as they came out. Each one on amazon was like 21 when they released. And they only released like every three or four months, so it was spread out so the hit wasn't too bad.

Just finished up the last instalment of the MSG 0079 movie trilogy.

I really enjoyed it, it definitely shows its age but it has a certain charm to it because of this too.

Kycilia being decapitated by Char's rocket took me by surprise, pretty brutal death.

Really looking forward to starting on Gundam Z now.

Also what would be a good point to watch the ORIGIN OVAs? Would it be okay to watch these before stating on Gundam Z? Seems like it'd be something neat to see with MSG 0079 and its characters fresh in my mind.

i haven't got to origin yet but it's a prequel and shouldn't need to watch anything before it except the original series.

Yeah seems like it'll be a fun watch having just finished the original series. Seems like the final part comes out in November though so I might even just wait for that to do it all at once.

It's a pretty good OVA series if you want to know more about Char's... becoming Char. But it does not really ad much to the Gundam universe other than that, some early mobile suit development and prototypes are interesting too. Definitely character driven and some cool moments of interest for the other Zeon notables.

Just remember it was made decades after the original series so usual shenanigans are involved when stories like that pop up. Like a random Char passing Amuro in the airport -yeah right eyeroll, you couldn't resist could you- moment. That's my only actual complaint lol. I quite enjoyed all three so far and look forward to the 4th.

Ah yes, gotta love the shoe horned references obligatory to all prequels.

Screw it, if I'm going down the rabbit hole I'm going all in. I think I'll go for 08th MS Team next and follow that up with 0080 and 0083 OVAs before moving onto Zeta. Is this chronologically correct?

Edit: Will do Thunderbolt too - where does that best fit in chronologically speaking? I guess these kind of work in any order since they're just side stories to the One Year War?

0080 takes place November and December 0079. Thunderbolt is December of that year.

Go producton order dude. First > zeta > zz > cca > 0080 > 0083 > 08th > thunderbolt.

Okay yeah, guess that might make things a bit simpler and more consistent animation wise. Gonna start on Zeta tonight then.

I am going the chronological route.

Watched this year:

0079, 08th team, 0080(on last episode); thunderbolt, and all the origin movies so far.

0083 is the last thing I watch really before I buy all of zeta

Gundam 0083 Stardust Memory is too good... i think i must've watch it one summer once a week. i can't wait for the blu ray.

i'm not fond of newtypes so i'm glad it's all piloting skills.

Haha there was one of these within a minute or so of the first episode starting.

Liking it so far, only watched two episodes but I'm thinking that I'll enjoy this one.

I really like first gundam tv dub. Especially bright, Amuro and char. The movie dub sucks tho.

Zeta dub is mediocre. Feels amatuerish.

CCA dub, besides quess, is top notch

phew... give up. No more transformable suits for a while. This thing was pretty brutal to make lol. Some joints are amazingly stiff, not sure if some parts are made correctly lol. But main assembly is done. Weapons, decals, and top coat is all thats left.

I daresay the RG is the definitive kit of the 00 Qan[T]. The only thing the MG has over it is the Quantum Burst gimmick.

The thing I like most is that it doesn't lean to one side due to the weight of the shield, like the MG did.

Going to bed, may dig out my old HG and do a comparison pic tomorrow.

Is anyone who hates the Strike Freedom, but likes the Wings of Light/Skies, interested in a DIY mod to give the Freedom 2.0 the Wings of Light/Skies, giving it a voiture lumiere effect?

After building the Wing backpack portion I can kind of see a way to make it look more garish like how the Metal Build Destiny adds its effect parts.

All you would need to do is measure out how big the Effect Parts you want to come out of the space between each Wing, then have it cutout and add a hole to slot in between wings and rail cannons.

It would be similar to the Dragon Momoko ones

But slotted through the holes instead of inside the wing unit itself.

I'm thinking of getting clear file folders in a blue color like this

then using airbrush or spray paint to give it that spiky effect, and top it off with a pearl coat and gloss coat.

I wonder if it is possible to just put these plastic sheets in a printer and just print it to save me printing...

Just a thought but I will go try and experiment this soon and if anyone wants it I can go make a template for this.

Yes I did, I'm planning on giving it Strike Freedom like effect parts as well, thinking of ways to make it work.
