The Gundam |OT2| Another 5 years of Gunpla, Origins, and GUNDAMUUUU!

I actually did like that the White Base was torn on what to do about Amuro on his return.

It's also probably for the best considering Shiro's ideology shifted so much he couldn't have possibly continued as a soldier, not with any real benefit to the federation. Also isn't he a
cripple
in the end if I recall correctly? Or am I misremembering?

Yeah, Shiro
loses his leg and never gets it replaced with a prosthetic.

Oh...yeah, statement makes a lot more sense now. Though he's the only one I can think of that isn't really emotionally handicapped in some way...him and Kou.

Yeah I guess psychologically they both make it out of their respective conflicts relatively unscathed. Kou is actually my favorite Gundam protagonist, I always wonder exactly what happened to him after 0083, especially as he would've lived through Zeta, CC and Unicorn.

Wasn't he thrown out of the military? I know Monsha was a Titan, and probably died at some point though.

I can't remember exactly what the ending text said, I know he was court-martialed at one point, but he might've gotten out of it due to the whole GP program getting erased/sealed, or something. He seemed passionate enough an individual that I feel like he would've participated in some capacity throughout the various conflicts that followed however. Or maybe he just got with Nina and fell off the map like Shiro.

Your ideology shifting doesn't justify dereliction of duty and not honoring your oath of service. He should have been caught and tried.

I'm sorry but Shiro just runs me the wrong way really bad.

I hope he just stayed with Nina, he probably would've gotten vaporized by the end of Zeta.

Banging Nina and not eating his carrots.

Kou had his sentence overturned and had his rank reinstated, however it's believed he was the only of the Albion crew not to be assigned orders to a Titans unit. Since he was commissioned in 0083, he was definitely still active during the Grypps and the first Neo ZEON War at least.

AFAIK he was never in any non 0083 side stories tho, so who knows.

I don't think Keith was either right? It looked in the final shots like he was back to being a test pilot. I wonder, considering their morals, which side of any of the conflicts they ended up on. Oh well, probably never know.

A big issue was that the original writer and director died during production, that's why the tonal shift is so sharp.

And yeah the epilogue is the worst. Shiro is a deserter and deserters deserve death. Speaking as a combat veteran of 10 years, Sonim a bit biased.
Okay, yeah, that makes a lot of sense that the writer and directors changed now. The tone did feel pretty inconsistent.

Just started Thunderbolt: December Sky. Only about 20 minutes in but holy crap the action is brutal, and all that free jazz in the soundtrack! I have a feeling I'm going to like this quite a bit.

Yeah at the end he was piloting a Gel goog Marine, not a Nemo and it wasn't painted I Titans colors. So probably not.

Yeah, probably will never know. He'll it was decades before we started seeing what Amuro was up to during ZZ and he's like the biggest character in the franchise aside from Char.

Which anime covers Amuro during ZZ? I never knew about that, that sounds cool.

Briefly in Evolve and the Green Divers film you can only see in Odaiba as it is a sFX show in a multi screen format.

It's where Amuro's Zeta Gundam came from. He piloted a white/pink Zeta.

Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam volume 3

Amg76eMl.jpg

Bad guy transferring himself though multiple androids, mutiny, the death gale, and Kinkedo piloting an armless X-1. A pretty good volume if I say so.

Just finished Hunter x Hunter, I'm about to start up Gundam Age. Pray for me. Why are there Digimon in my Gundam? Oh Flit, you think your mom died horribly? Ain't got shit on
Uso's
. What kind of fucking Gundam OP is this? Why does Vargas look like Dr. Eggman?

Thunderbolt is dark as fuck, wow. So many disturbing moments in such a short time. I'm not sure if I buy it fitting into the OYW... seems weird to see such advanced Mobile Suits and Gundams around during that war. It always seemed like the RX-78-2 was the only Gundam at that time.

But this was great - the animation and soundtrack were so on point.

I've got a few more days to finish AGE. It's bad. I don't think its the absolute worst though. Man 00 Season 2 and AGE back to back. What a dark time.

AGE looks bad. The first part is super boring. The second part is super dumb. The third part is even worse.

So Age focuses roughly on three different "teenage" protagonists. The problem is that the worst drawn characters in AGE's artstyle are kids. Flit and his dumb friends look horrible in part one. The 19-20 somethings look okay and the adults look...great!

Yeah, that's a common complaint against it. While I don't mind there being other variations of the Gundam that came later in the war as seen with the Alex and EZ-8 the Full Armor seems way ahead of anything else from that era.

I really need to watch Thunderbolt at some point. How many eps is Age again? 49? Fucking fuck.

The middle is a joy compared to the beginning. The beginning is ugly and beyond boring. Took me forever and I kept falling asleep watching it. The middle is dumb but at least it is usually dumb at a nice pace. The last part combines the bad pacing of the first part with the dumb of the second part.

I can see why nothing from this show is getting a MG. Kids look like ass design wise.

The second gen are 17-19 year olds and at least look somewhat normal. I don't know or care how old the third gen people are. 16? Maybe.

You could tell me Flit and Emily are 9 and I wouldn't blink.

Does the mech art get better? This starter mech isn't too great looking, looks like a GoBot or something.

Yes. Much. I still don't like it.

Third Gen enemy suits kinda look like a skinny Dragonite.

Honestly since BF/BFT is all remixed stuff I haven't like many designs at all since...Destiny as far as TV series go. Some of the OVA stuff has been good.

Definitely worth it, and it's only a little over an hour too.

Gonna start Unicorn today, decided to go with the OVAs over the recent TV cuts.
Ep 4 is the fucking high point.

I like the stuff in Unicorn, actual show stuff? That isn't stuff from Zeta? A couple from Victory, the aquatic stuff from UC, stuff from Stardust like the GP02 and Powered GM, Neu Ziel (shit's too good), Epyon...Kyrios was the bees knees in my opinion. Oddly I haven't seen too many shows more than once that aren't Wing, Seed, Destiny, Zeta, ZZ twice and the OVA's that were on Toonami that are now in my DVD collection minus 0080 so it's hard for me to remember too many suits.

I'm pretty hyped for it. It was my end goal when I first came into this thread awhile back. The timing actually ended up lining up perfectly with IBO Season 2 funnily enough. But Unicorn doesn't feel like an end goal anymore, I'll probably put off IBO for the time being to continue my chronological watch after Unicorn. Going into F91 > Victory > G Gundam > Wing > After War and then Turn A. Will probably check out Build Fighters as well at some point.

The suits in 00 look weird. AGE suits are bland, but a few of the non Gundam designs are nice. BF/BFT have a lot of great suits...but its almost all recycled due to the nature of the beast. I hate the suits in Reconguista or whatever and what I've seen of IBO hasn't impressed.

I meanwhile love most of the suits from the one year war era of shows, Every AC show before 00, Z/ZZ era shows.

Episode 4 is awesome.
Such a labor of love, I just loved that sequence.

I still need to see IBO. I'm probably going to wait till the dub is done.
