Crazy. I've definitely gotten faster as I've built kits, but 3 kits in <6 hours seems really fast. I do slow things down by doing nub cleanup and panel lining at the same time.

How do you feel about Riddhe? I kind of like him...
he does stupid shit, but he's pretry cool most of the time. His final scene where he brings Banagher back is pretty legit. Sucks he killed the best character though

I love Newtype stuff, so of course I loved it in this. I do think it starts to go into Newtype ubermensch stuff, which is problematic and I don't think what Tomino is getting at, but still great.

Marida's death felt exactly like Amuro's death in the mobile suit gundam novel. I wonder if that's intentional.

Still not sure who/what Frontal is. I've read creator explanations but I still don't quite get it.

did you watch the dub or sub? You might not have noticed Amuro's voice if you watched the dub.

I liked Riddhe and then hated him and then liked him again.
He was really great after coming back to his senses in the last episode. And yeah, that scene where he was chasing after Banagher to bring him back was fantastic as far as redeeming the character goes.

The series could definitely benefit from reining in the Newtype stuff a little bit. That said it doesn't bother me too much and I think a lot of it can be rationalized in logical ways.

Oh shit, of course that was Amuro! I watched subtitled but I totally missed that, although noticed there were 3 ghosts. I like that this basically confirms they died in CCA and puts it all to rest.

Yep, F91 up next followed by Victory Gundam.

everyone magically started calling him FF though the whole plot build up throughout the series was everyone mistook him for
Char
. i love how everyone just had immediate clarity on his ID.

You handled that death A LOT BETTER than me and a shit load of other people. Amuro's ghost also hangs out with Char and Lalah, she can't escape those two obsessed thirsty ass men.

Who else would be hanging out with Char and Lalah, I caught that instantly. I actually loved it and found it hilarious at the same time. I don't remember much of F91, or Victory, but I at least like Victory...should just rewatch that instead of trying to suffer though Gundam SuffrAGE.

I only panel line the face for hg kits but that was way back.

Only build mg kits exclusively unless I see something that I just gotta have like the ibo hg stuff

Laplace Box makes sense, but it's effectively useless to the entire UC after that. Not the best retcon.
Full Frontal not getting fleshed out is a major problem, but he's some sort of memory/mental clone of Char made from the Sazabi's escape pod's psycho commu unit. Somehow a part of Char's soul was in it and went into Full Frontal. That's why he talked about being a vessel a lot, but I don't think he realized it himself.
FUCK RIDDHE.
No redemption exists for him! He was worse than Hathaway, at least he was a stupid kid.

To be honest , I was skeptical at first regarding HG kits since my prior experience was the shitty Wing Gundam 0 from 2000, I was surprised by how much HG kits have evolved in 16 years.

I'm actually considering custom painting the Wing 0 now since it lost it's eyes stickers

My bff went to a local shop back in june. He was knew I liked gundams and wanted to get me a bday present. He saw the pg unicorn and was gonna get it.

The store talked him out of it. Said it was too nice to give as a random gift

Watched a bit of F91, it was too late to watch it all though. The animation is really nice, but man does it feel rushed. At points during the first 30 minutes or so it felt like I was watching a movie in fast forward because everything was happening so quickly.

I think I heard it was originally planned to be a series? That would make a lot of sense.

yeah, it feels like a series in fast forward. crossbone really develops the characters. it's really good and F91 sets it up perfectly

The Formula Wars are so good, it's a shame so little of it is on film. F90,91,Crossbone tell a fantastic story about the fall of the Federation and the colonies getting powerful. The old guard falling.

You don't have to like or watch Gundam to want to build a kit because the robot design and robots in general is cool.

Plenty of people build without being invested in Gundam.

A huge portion of those who play Gundam EXVS don't even really follow gundam, they just really like the gameplay.

I don't understand how any of that is a "dick move"

In regards to building, a Master Grade without decals, but full cuts and sanding and building can take as soon as 4-5 hours if you're pretty experienced. NT Cutters are the best knife to use in my opinion.

I also find Gundam Markers to be such a waste and I'm a really big person on doing ink washes for panel lines.

Wouldn't PG Unicorn with the LED lights be a huge time consuming pain in the ass...not to mention expensive as a persons first build?

Well my friend who has never watched gundam jumped in basically because in his own words " why didn't u guys tell me about buying scale models earlier?"

and I was like "but you've never watched gundam...."

him : "who cares...building is a man's dream"

Fun fact, a few pages ago mentioned my friends and I've been roleplaying a gundam campaing, the thing is both of them are buying their gunplas just because they want to use them as their units for said campaing.

Also watched Thunderbolt for the first time today and boy that ost choice is superb, Also I don't find most of the suits desings like super advanced for 0079 , except for the backpacks on both sides and the way the psycho zaku works that shit is insane

That Astaroth Origin might be my favorite High Grade I've built. It needs a good amount of painting and sticker trimming to look right, but it's super solid, looks awesome, has a well-designed transformation gimmick, and it's stable and balanced while holding its giant weapon. Loved it.

I just have the finale left. This series is very poor. Going to need to rewatch 00 Season 2 to confirm whether or not it is the worst non UC show. I think it is. I can't imagine how bad it would have been if they had gone for a fourth generation to make it a 100 year saga and another 25 episodes.

This is probably the worst plot of any Gundam show. That is saying something. So the martians are pissed because they're all dying of spaceitis...that can be cured rather quickly by earth technology. They can build a massive death fleet and giant mobile colonies no problem...but then can't just move to the earth sphere and live peacefully in space not getting Mars sick?

Plus as many of you have pointed out...Flit kinda sorta acts like cold genocidal maniac for 90% of the series...how come he never just nuked the Vagans? He knew where they were! Mars! He was in control of the military for 30 years and even plotted a successful coup at one point. I kinda like how he softens up after Asemu disappeared. In fact grandpa space hitler is probably the best character on the show.

I think Gundam 00 S2 was worse because it has a good season 1 to compare it to. There was no build up for there to be a let down in AGE.

I'm going to have to watch 00 again, but I'd say Age was better if only because of the Genoace suits. If you want to really talk about worst series, look no further than G. Then Reconguista. Reconguista's only saving grace is some of the great MS designs, while G has zero merit.

Yeah, the switched around order for the first few episodes really fucks with the pacing. I do think it's worth rewatcing episode 1 after episode 4, because there's a lot of stuff in 1 that make a lot more sense after knowing the context of the 2-4.

Are people talking shit about my Tequila Gundam?

G Gundam at least has memes and a funny dub, I guess. It's just dumb fun to the point that I kind of just divorce it from Gundam altogether. It's the kind of show you watch drunk with a bunch of drunk friends.

As for Age, I didn't care for it. Like, at all. There are a couple of designs I like, but they're really few and far between.

At the same time I wanted to start Gundam X lol... the endless Gundam loop.
