I think Victory is over hated. I can see why people hate it, but it's not that bad at all.
I'm enjoying it so far, although it feels a bit disjointed. I guess it's too early to judge though.
I'd read, and someone can correct me if I'm wrong, that there's a feature on one of the DVD releases (or video CD) for Victory that's just Tomino recommending you not watch it and calling it his worst work or something. I don't really like Victory, but good grief when I read that I felt like he was being perhaps a tad hard on himself.
Haha yeah. Apparently he said people shouldn't buy the DVDs and the series is not meant to be seen by anyone. Recently he said something similar about the BluRays, saying that buying them would be a mistake and if you did you would only find out what is wrong with the show.

Jokes on him. I've seen and don't like Victory but I'll buy it anyway since I love the franchise.

The pacing in Victory is so weird. Like you'll have an awesome episode like the defense of Gibraltar and then you'll have something so weird, disjointed and pointless as episode 15.

More of Shakti's nagging to go back to Kasarelia... wait why are Odelo and Warren dressing Marbet up as a terrorist? Where did they even get those pantyhose from? Oh nope, now that Uso is gone Shakti suddenly wants to go to space too. That was quick. What is Fuala even being exiled for again? Is Uso just giving these guys oxygen to prolong their suffering as they drift through space?
That's weird since episode 15 is probably one of the non-action episodes I remember most clearly in Victory.

Shakti is pretty attached to Uso, considering he's the closest thing to family she has left. She makes a lot of naive and stupid decisions, but it's almost always for what she thinks is best for him. Which is why she tries to convince him to not fight and just go back, and then to follow after he does go. As for Fuala, I believe she was being punished for guillotining the League Militaire prisoner in the earlier episode. Higher ups probably wanted more time to interrogate him since he was a notable figure, but she jumped the gun and offed him too quickly.

And that's a morbid way of looking at Uso's actions. Despite the kill count, he's still a naive and kind-hearted kid, who would easily help stranded strangers regardless of affiliation. I really liked the scene where Uso interacted with a hardened dude like Godwald, willing to die instead of just accepting help. It's just so cheesy, I can't help but love it.

Yeah I understand that's how Shakti is, in fact I got it the first time. It just got tiring hearing it every episode, sometimes multiple times.

Yeah the reasoning they give is for her executing the Count but it all came across as a bit strange to me.

I was mostly joking with the last thing about Uso, I know his intentions were good. That said, giving them a single oxygen tank isn't going to do much good for their predicament.

I honestly think the theme of Victory is how your attachments to people can have either a beneficial or adverse effect on the people in your life cause people do a lot of weird shit to the people they care about the most in Victory.

So Victory is the first Gundam to do mid season recap episodes? Not counting the first episode of ZZ.

It's definitely got better since getting into space. Although it doesn't feel as if there's as much driving force behind the story as there was in early UC shows.

I think it starts ramping up in the 30's I can never remember. It's not even in peak weird yet. I assume Uso's looking for his parents now?

Just started the Gundam The Origin manga this morning. Man I love the art and all the little story changes that help to flesh out/modernize the story. Why didn't I read this sooner? I've had the first two volumes for a solid month now.

Oh goddess I'm sorry Zero.

It's the same stand as Proto Zero isn't it?

Sorta. The Proto Zero at least plugs into the backpack, whereas the one for Freedom just has the backpack sort of sit in the attachment piece. And if you're posing it in Full Burst mode like I did the weight is more towards the front. The back part of the stand being (albeit very) slightly elevated proves as much.

Re:damage, it probably would have been fixable if it hadn't startled me and I instinctively blocked it with my arm and flung it into my door >.> It's fallen before from the top of my bookshelf but never right after I get into bed and never right on top of me.

I'm surprisingly not that upset. I guess at the end of the day, it is just a thing. I can always replace it some day.

Ep 3 of Victory...Uso was not thinking straight when he flew that Shokew into Woowig right after it was carpet bombed by BESPA Units. God damn Woowig is getting fucked up. I think normally they wouldn't been showing a town get it's shit pushed in with this little resistance, even Unicorn when Banagher's colony got wrecked there was more resistance than this. How old is Uso again? This kid watches a lot of people die. At times Victory Gundam sounds like Wing Gundam. How long were they using the same sound effects for?

The fight makes its way to earth and Tobia emerges as a badass with the X-3. The fights in this series have been great I love how creative they get. My favorite example so far is Seabrook blocking the VSBR shot from the F91 using two beam sheilds, followed by his saber, simply awesome.

Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam volume 6 (Final)

For a six volume series Crossbone Gundam was fantastic. I can now become one of those people that want to see it animated. I see that there are a fair amount more volumes of sequel series, but I will hold off on those for now. I'm not sure when I will watch another show, but when I do it will either be the other UC OVAs I haven't seen, or Turn A.

Well in the earlier episodes, she commented on being glad that Woowig was burned to the ground, as well as trying to dissuade Uso from helping the caravan from being toasted by Zanscare. And a lot of other little things about her interactions with them that I only picked up on during a rewatch.

I wouldn't say crazy, but definitely not right in the head.

Welcome to the church of Tobia. :)

Smells like fresh rosebuds
Crossbone Gundam Ghost is really good and worth reading, it is a V Gundam side story starring an old, blind Tobia.

Nicely done.
However I can't help but notice what seems to be an unsafe number of power cables plugged into the hub once under the tv.

Heh very few of those are on at the same time, the access to power button or whatever it's called is off for basically everything but the laptop when not in use.

The rest are extra cables for things like USB cellphone charger, controllers, lan cables ect haha. Messy cable situation at the moment since I moved stuff around but did not put it back :p it's my day off as my excuse lol

That is some quality paint, really slick looking. Wait, you put off making the action base?!? It's like three pieces dude

Also, Laputa, you should watch Turn A. You really, really should watch Turn A.

If one of the UC OVAs he mentioned is 0080 or 0083 he should watch those first.

I decided to watch some of the original SD Gundam show, and turns out that show is pretty funny.

Welcome to the church of Tobia. :)

I gladly accept the invitation. Tobia gets shit done.

Also, Laputa, you should watch Turn A. You really, really should watch Turn A.

I'd believe you since it sounds like something I would really enjoy. Then again I have enjoyed everything Gundam that I have read or watched so far, with a mild exception of ZZ only due to the first bit being such a tone shift.

If one of the UC OVAs he mentioned in 0080 or 0083 he should watch those first.

Those are in fact the two. I figure that your right on that since it would take less time to watch and probably has better quality animation.

Oh god. The Gedlav units with the tires are so dumb.

Oliver telling Marbet out of nowhere that he wants her to bear his child when they're trying to recapture the Gundams. When the writing is bad in this it's REALLY bad.

I'm not sure what I just watched.

Why was Lupe getting naked in the bath with Uso? Ho--

You know what? Fuck it, this episode made no sense so there's no point trying to understand it.

Victory 2 looks great.

RG Build Strike:

I still need Exia but I'm too busy with my Star Trek ship obsession :/
Can't stand Build as its the worst Strike variant to me at this point.

That said I'm happy it's an RG. Now Bandai has set the flames for Tryon 3 and Tri Zeta after we get the ZZ.

Hurry and get to ZZ damn it.

Mobile Suit Gundam 0080 - War in the Pocket Episode 1:

Pretty well animated. The first scene with the Hy-Goggs was fantastic. After that it was alright. I am interested to see where it goes.

I love that first battle scene, it has my favorite mobile suit ever: Cold Weather GM, ah to die in style. That's the stuff.

I ended up getting a bit further into ZZ (like late 30s, early 40s, dunno which), and the show is getting fucking stupid again.
RETURN OF MOON MOON WHY
. I am not liking it nearly as much as Zeta, even though it has it's strengths. ZZ will have to be the fucking GOAT at this point to make it surpass Zeta in my eyes.

Also, ordered the V Gundam blu-ray first set.

I mean, I remember some major plot points for the show, but I believe I only initially watched HK bootlegs back in like Junior year or high school, so this should be entertaining.

Or I guess I could have used the money for G Reco.
