The Gundam |OT2| Another 5 years of Gunpla, Origins, and GUNDAMUUUU!

Started on Wing yesterday. I'm liking it so far but holy crap are these Gundams/pilots OP. In UC even taking down 15 guys in their career was a big deal but here they're taking out entire facilities on their own.

Not to mention Heero jumping out of a building and surviving without his parachute haha.

Everytime i heard something about wing, I inmediatly remenber the phrase

"IT'S A GUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNDAM" lol

Gundams in this universe are named such because they use a rare space alloy to make them, which in turn makes them practically invulnerable to conventional weapons. Space battleships aren't a big thing in this universe either so until someone makes a mass produced suit with a beam weapon on it the only thing people have that can touch them are Leos/Aries with Beam Sabers. So they have to get close to the bigger, faster, better armored suits and hit them with a sword when most of those suits could just shred them with the vulcans in their head, or their much better projectile weapons, or their much better and longer ranged melee weapons, in their bigger, faster, tougher, more agile, Gundams. Oh and they're also five child soldiers, trained for years to do this.

Instead of all of those you could probably brought in the Sazabi. You and your friends could have had great fun each building a limb.

Mine are only four of those ,the shiping price for all of this was allmost the same as the sazabi however, in this case we split the shipping so I spent less than 50 bucks...

edit: there's also a second box with a RG and HG zaku and a MG exia, reason for the second box is because my friend in charge of the orders, bought them and forgot of the tax here in Peru (orders that pass the 200$ value and so on)

So I started reading Ecole du Ciel, and I'm wondering if this is actually the first time a mobile suit pilot academy is actually a setting in a Gundam spinoff. Seems like it would be a more popular/generic concept, but I don't recall it ever being used in any other spinoff or series.

And the headless GMs look pretty weird.

Too bad they axed it and it never finished.

I've been rewatching Gundam 00. I'm about half way through the first season. I remember really liking the start of 00, but I forgot just how good it is. The premise and characters are great. Graham Aker and Sergei Smirnov (best name) are excellent antagonists. I can't put my finger on why, but I am not a fan of the Gundam designs. Why does Exia have a sword and beam sabers? The sword seems to cut through things just as well as beam sabers. What's so special about it?

I think they explain the purpose of the GN Blade towards the end. I like the first season and it's soundtrack. It's just brought down as a whole a bit cause of how bad the second season became.

The main cast of Wing really does nothing for me.

I don't care about any of these characters.
Yeah that seems to be the consensus. A lot of their back story is told in a prequel novel or something. It's mainly good for the side characters, probably most boring Gundam ship cause Releena is crazy and Heero is a borderline robot until he gets his emotional firmware updated.

It has started to look up in Episode 7 and 8 with the coup and all the Gundam pilots finally meeting and starting to (Kind of) work together.

Don't know how I feel about these Gundam designs. Wing is fine generally, Deathscythe looks great but Sandrock, Heavyarms and Shenlong I'm not sold on. Shenlong especially almost feels like something out of Voltron.

Sandrock has the same color scheme as the Nu Gundam. I'm no fan at all of Heavy Arms and the Shenlong series of suits are my favorite for some odd reason, guess I like dragon themes. Believe it or not I think the Shenlong series and another suit further down the line have the greatest close counters capabilities in GW.

Same colour scheme but Nu Gundam looked so much better. I guess I'm just really fond of the bulky, clunky designs of the original UC suits. Not too fond of how curvy and sleek some of the suits are in Wing.

That said I quite liked Barbatos in IBO so maybe it's just the 90s styling that's throwing me off.

Yeah Wing is pretty damn 90's that at the proportions are different, Wing suits are a lot smaller than UC suits, Beth has a better explanation of it that I can't remember. The best designed suits are actually the non Gundams if you can believe that.

Wait for the Endless Waltz redesigns, that's one of the reasons they're so popular.

And anyway the best thing to come out of Wing is the Tallgeese.

Tallgeese looks pretty boss. I haven't seen it in action yet but I think that's coming next episode from the looks of the preview.

It was really season 2 when the show took a nosedive and devolved into beam spamming and Graham turning into a weaboo

00 really shines in its action direction, voice acting, and pace of its story. Especially season 1. Does not matter how nonsense the story gets in the second season and how much it asks the viewer to "just go with it" , I really liked it for the previously mentioned reasons. It's just straight up well made.

Decided to stop working on the RG Gelgoog and focus on the MG Turn X instead. It actually seems easier than what I expected considering how large it is.

Anyone here have a MG char's zaku manual? I need to see the decal guide since a lost mine lol

Dalong has all the manuals on his site. Check out the info section of a kit to find it.

thanks man, i wish i had more room. are you watching victory right now?

I took a break from Gundam building/watching. outside of IBO.

I have a ton of kits literally half finished. I am waiting for better nippers to come in the mail before I start up. I ordered zeta blu-ray part 1.

My interest in Gunpla has suddenly just...died. Not permanently, just for now.

Guess it's time for a hiatus until something sparks my desire to build again.

fuck it, I give up been 6 stickers broken since I started,i'm putting the MG zaku decals on hiatus and starting the RG Sinanju since that seems funnier
