Gusion Rebake is seriously the best gundam from that show. Bar none... Then again I have not seen what else lies in wait for season 2 so I'm just assuming.

Ima Wa Oyasumi is a better song than Beginning. Both are good, but ima wa oyasumi is great.
After Wing I've got Gundam X and then Turn A Gundam, need to get around to G Gundam too once all the Blurays are out.
I've already seen SEED, Destiny, 00 etc ages ago but I may do a rewatch of those eventually.

Have fun with Shinn and Jesus Yamato on those rewatches. Turn A has a much different pace than the rest of the franchise.
Turn A sounds right up my alley, really looking forward to getting to it.

I think I've seen Seed and Destiny at least three or four times each. It's fun to watch if I have no idea what to watch for my next anime. It's familiar, like wearing the same pair of underwear for two days straight.
Turn A has two of the best written females in the franchise.

Need to watch Turn A at some point as well. Same with X and finishing my rewatch of G. Really hope we get a God Gundam 2.0 MG soon. Itching to build it, one of my favorite suits.

Probably should lol. I have it sitting in my "to watch" pile for whenever I get to it. Just finished Kancolle Collection and Jojo's Season 1... maybe going to do one more 12 episode series before I'm ready to do a Gundam again.

Cause it's stupid fun which is appropriate for a morning before work. I don't think I was watching subbed Zeta and Victory during my pre work anime watches. I watched Zeta dubbed before work and the tone of Zeta didn't resonate with me properly. The sub though when you have time to absorb it hits me fucking hard.

The best SEED things are in Astray anyway. I'm confident that there is nothing in Gundam that is worse than the Gundam EX A manga that ties in with EXVS.
No I didn't really like the colors and head outside of the Ifrit decal. I like building kits and keeping some, giving away others.
The other kit I'm looking at is the Messer custom or the Draken 1/72 kits.
I think they're really nice kits, sturdy, and the transformation is pretty good because of the locking mechanisms.

Gundam Marathon With My Aging Father Part 3: "His Accomplishments Are All Luck."
So I've been doing a Marathon with my dad of chronological U.C. Gundam. We started with Origin Parts 1-3 and he generally loved those. In fact, at this point it's looking like they're his favorite interpretation of the series as a whole, although we're still quite early on.
We'd finished the first movie, which we'd started with the old school dub I'd originally watched it with. He didn't like the dub so we switched to subtitles and that made it better. He'd criticized the first thirty minutes of the dub as making it feel like "War for Teens." After the switch to Japanese his opinion improved a little.
But the second movie, with how jovial it can be, sent him back to feeling like Original Gundam was really more aimed at teens than something entirely approachable for more general audiences. He felt that the childish antics, and the lack of reprisal for Amuro's actions (stealing the Gundam) made it feel tame and kiddish. One other issue he developed was how undefined Newtypes still feel by the end of the movie, like the idea doesn't how much weight, substance, or definition behind it.
The third movie though, which is my favorite, turned him around. He didn't feel there was really much of a point to Amuro discovering his dad again, or Sleggar Law's romance with Mirai, but really liked the Lalah component and the final forty or so minutes of the film. It all sort of turned him around again on Original Gundam and left him feeling more positive, closer to where we'd left off with Gundam The Origin Part 3 and eager to eventually see where Char and Amuro end up as characters. (More Char than Amuro, I don't think he cares about him all that much to be honest.)
So with that we've jumped onto 8th MS Team. This one is not going well so far. He actively dislikes Shiro Amada (There's someone in here that will be pleased by that, I think right?) who he feels is too happy, cocky, and full of himself, with no real ability for teamwork and is mostly a hotshot flying by the seat of his pants. Things do take some bad turns of course, as I remember when I watched it some years ago, but I wonder if that'll be enough for him, as he wants to see Shiro really learn some tough lessons and display actual leadership skill. My Wife also sat in on the first episode and only wants to continue watching to see Shiro suffer.
It's fun though sort of reseeing Gundam through his eyes, since a lot of this stuff I'd watched years and years ago.

Let's a have start date and post some impressions. We can go at our own pace. i know i get pretty tired after work and it's hard for me to binge on a lot at a time. at the same time this will give me some motivation to watch consistently.
Maybe when ramyeon and Valkerionseven are done with their series would be good timing to begin Turn A =)
i can't wait for the DX version of Messer, i'm going to try and get 3 or 4 copies =P

I believe so, though it wasn't very plot-relevant beyond his supplementing his piloting skills and whatever Angel Halo fuckery that happened.
All the Newtype ghosts helped him at the very end, as well.

I'm finding it interesting that so far Maria Armonia isn't the one responsible for Zanscare being fucking insane. She loves her daughter and wants to help Uso be friends with her and wants Shakti to help repair the faults of Zanscare and bring down the guillotine. Mostly seems to be the higher up tied to Fonse Kagatie that are the nut jobs. Maria going full Ragyo Kiryuin in ep 26 with all that light shining off of her.
I thought he was the strongest Newtype Gundam pilot up to that point. Unicorn might have changed that.

I would definitely consider him one of the strongest Gundam pilots who happen to be a Newtype, but his Newtype powers were pretty normal. He never really did anything on par with the crazy stuff like Kamille's mass telepathy or Judau's gigantic psychic projection in ZZ, and none of his mobile suits ever really had funnels, bio-sensors, or psychoframe to make use of his powers.

What the fuck am I fucking watching at this fucking Lupe Cineau bubble bath? How is this even torture and do other people of the Zanscare military know about this? Lupe told this dude that Uso bit her boob and he didn't even second guess how it even managed to happen.
