First MG and first attempt at panel lining. I am happy with how it turned out. MGs are amazing. I don't think I'll ever be able to go back to high grade. I want more. What are your favourite MGs?
Master Grade Epyon, Sinanju and Sazabi are all out of this world great.

Wing Proto Zero is fun easy build.

Unicorn is dated but good and always need to sell that Banshee.

Nicely done. My experience with MGs is kinda limited compared to others here as I built more Kotobukiya kits than Bandai ones but the MG The O is my favorite. Very detailed and solid. Only flaw is that for some reason they cheapened out and only put two beam saber effect parts when it should be and so two hilts will always be empty.

I am leaning toward the MG Hi-Nu Ver Ka or Nu Ver Ka just to get something very different from my Amazing Red. The Sinanju Stein is also interesting. I really really want to get the Sazabi eventually but that would be a lot of red twice in a row.

How are the Iron Blooded Orphans 1/100 kits compared to MGs?

Nu ver Ka is the best I've built. Would also recommend the Hyaku Shiki 2.0 and RX-78-02 Origin as great MG's.

Per Nozomi Entertainment's Facebook page, 0079 movie trilogy (blu ray) and 0083 are coming in April.

0083 fuck yes. I love the Gundam blu-ray renaissance that the West is getting.

Speaking of, I finally started watching my Origin blu-rays (the first two so far). Fun stuff. I haven't read much of the manga, but it seems to be a good adaptation. And the animation looks fantastic.

Never knew Gundam Battle Assault 2 had these hidden gameshark only unlockable characters.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xggLJ2gu1M

First suit - Meshymre Cello in the HAMMA-HAMMA
Second Suit - Haman Karn in the White Quebley
Third suit - Paptimus Scirocco in "The O"
Fourth suit - Kamille Bidan in the Zeta Gundam.

I believe they were there in the original JP release (without needing cheats) but when it came time to bring the game to the west they were really pushing Wing and G Gundam hard because they were on TV and for all intents and purposes Z/ZZ Gundam didn't exist here yet.

Gundam Seed Destiny Episode 46

Glorified recap episode, though Meer just makes me wish for an Idols x Gundam 50 episode iteration someday. Imagine the idols of UtaPri/Bpro/Tsukiuta singing and going to school at one moment then off to space to defend from the spanoids the next. Would be cool, and the person who does the insert songs in Gundam Seed/Destiny always makes such great music.

Yup, Noizumi is doing the lord's work. Because of them, I will own every Gundam (that i care about).

Just wish 0080 would happen. Eventually it will..right?

Man, I'm learning about all sorts of Mobile suits from SD G Gen. Today I discovered there was a Zaku II varient in Zeta Gundam called the Act Zaku

Nobody knows what's up with 0080. There's no sign of a Japanese Blu Ray incoming and it didn't even get a remastered DVD version like 0083 had. There's speculation it might have an issue with source materials but there's no way for us to know for sure.

Opinions on the Toonami thread are kind of interesting regarding Gundam Unicorn.

A lot were confused by it (since they weren't familiar with UC)

I don't love IBO but I do think it's pretty good. Olga and Mika have a good dynamic. Mech designs aren't my favorite.

Id probably put it below wing but above x.

I've reached a decision. SD Gundam is goty 2016

This is something keeping me from the show as well. Aside from being burned by the last few shows none of the mechas from the show click with me at all.

Just finished my third build (after a MG Proto Zero Wing Gundam I didn't post).

I got a great deal on 4 old master grade sets. The jewel of the collection in my eyes was the MG Zeong. Unfortunately it turned out to be a barely mitigated disaster. I don't know if its a product of the quality of the product at the time combined with age, or how the previous owner had it stored (maybe exposed to heat and cool in a garage?). But the kit has one large ABS runner, and two small ABS runners. Huge parts, fairly critical to the build.

But for whatever reason, the ABS is currently so brittle it will shatter for looking at it. So I ended up with two broken fingers, one broken hand, a few miscellaneous small parts, the left shoulder joint in the arm, and both shoulder joints inside the torso shattered in so many places I'm surprised they don't just completely fall out.

But, mitigated because it looks alright if I pose it once and don't move it again. The shoulder armor basically flops around if you don't have it pinching the chest armor.

Next up is a similarly aged Rick Dom. Very fortunately there is only Polystyrene and polycaps in this one, so it should go together just fine.

Super glue is your friend if you are ok with having it in one pose.

I built the rick dom not to long ago and it is a solid kit.

I really liked Victory Gundam. The main thing keeping me from loving it would be trying to understand the motivations for some of the characters. The most obvious being Katejina seemingly becoming a crazy person near the end. Regardless I found the overall story to be pretty good, along with the action, and music. I would say in terms of mobile suit design I am mixed. I liked all of the federation suits, but some of those Bespa suits like the Doggorla and the ones that are literal insects with nothing else going on I don't like.

Now the only mainline UC thing to watch would be The Origin as far as I know aside from things like IGLOO.

A small tube of krazy glue is the only reason I got as far as I did. I think I would need a large tube and some putty or something to make it any more solid than it is now. There is barely any surface area left to glue on the shoulder pivots they broke in so many places. I'm going to sticker, line, clear coat, pose and then never touch again.

On a side note, the Rick Don hands are amazing, especially considering the kit is 18 years old. Favorite I've done so far, including he 3.0. Larger size MS probably helps. This build is so much more fun it's washing out the bad taste of the last.

Katejina wasn't right in the head from ep 1. She gave no fucks when I think her hometown got carpet bombed.

I think I have lost my goddamn mind or I have hit a middle-age crisis. But Gundam Breaker 3 has gotten me interested in probably getting into Gunpla after avoiding it for so long.

So I guess I just stick with HG kits until I feel comfortable doing MG/PG? I would really like an F91 Metal Build one day. And I guess I don't pull an Exia Repair: Duckroll Custom, but I don't even know if what happened there was a pretty easy mistake for starting out Gunpla builders...

Lol you will be fine. Hg kits are easy. Start with the revive and ibo line.

I honestly find HG kits quite disappointing. Wish I had just started with MGs. Not much more difficult and so much nicer.

I pick up HGs when I really like a design but know there's zero chance of it getting an MG in the future, such as with Reconguista in G. I mean, G-Self has yet to get a MG while Age got 6!

MG just take patience and time, but telling someone to start off with a MG which normally cost twice the amount of a hg or more is a double edge sword. If they pull it off then yay they got a nice kit. If they don't it can easily turn them of the hobby.

but on the real for yah building a mg kit remember patience, awareness, and never force a piece. Also avoid building on carpet at all cost.

Same, other than that I am hooked on the MG's. Also the size difference for most kits.

But just asked my co-workers about buying a new camera and they just started ranting for a solid 20 minutes about them. I almost stopped them since I know nothing about cameras but had the sudden realization... "oh this is what it must be like when they say the word gundam when I'm in earshot"

What is your camera budget, and format choice? You want a mirrorless or dslr?

Whats the best way to paint a model kit?

Let's say i want to make a white part into grey, how many coating does it need?
