The Gundam |OT2| Another 5 years of Gunpla, Origins, and GUNDAMUUUU!

Neo Sweden comes with the best character and best mobile suit.
This is true. Though it wasn't until I saw the spelling on the model that I realized it must've been named after the Nobel Prize (which is awarded in Stockholm).

I find everything after 0080 hard to watch.

0083 least hard because its short, looks good, and has a rocking OT.

ZZ is my favorite series of the bunch. Victory/F91 my least favorite.

Master Asia and Allenby were the only good things to come out that show.

G Gundam was so stupid as a Gundam series, but passes off for Super Robot well.

Also I'm so conflicted on whether or not to pick up the Dragon Momoko Akatsuki. I've never done a knockoff kit but I REALLY want Akatsuki in that Hyaku Shiki 2.0 gold and I don't think Bannam is doing a print anytime soon.

It bothered me for a bit cause it looks too much like Strike but fuck this looks good for a 3rd party knockoff. I just hope that the quality isn't crap.

You find 08th MS Team hard to watch?

Besides the ending? No. Everything I've seen that happens during the One Year War I've liked pretty much without reservation. It's when they move past that.

Haven't seen Unicron yet.
Unicron would be dope if it just showed up in the UC.

Anyone else here built the RG Justice? Is yours as fragile as mine? Because I swear my kit falls apart just by holding it. Forget trying to pose it.

Yeah, it's super fragile. If I ever were to build it again ( to see how far I've ocme), I would think of the pose, pose the legs ahead of time, put em on a base... set it and forget it. It cannot be used without a base. Most fragile kit I've used.

Got the MkII Robot Damashii in this morning. Really awesome. Proportions are a bit strange since im used to the MG v1.0, but still looks good.

I see allot of people having trouble with this kit (you're not alone). I have not had these difficulties. I love mine. You can really do some amazing things with it.

The only things I don't like about it (off the top of my head):

1) The beam saber holsters have a neat mechanism to lock them into place that are unfortunately impossible to see and often result in splitting the side skirts instead of locking the beam sabers in.
2) The female end of the shield attachment was changed from the Freedom's for some reason. Bandai added a second hole, presumably for more posing options (It's not part of the original Justice design afaik), and it's more annoying to latch the shield on.
3) Uncolored clear parts with no stickers, which is a trend Bandai kept up for some of the RG Gundams for a while.

Otherwise it's great. I've got a spectacular pose out of mine. The best pose on my shelf imo.

heads up. Bluefin is starting to bring over some event exclusive kits and p-bandai kits to retail in the US! My hobbytown had a buttload of Gunpla Expo kits (clear versions) and a handful of p-bandai ones. I scored a P-Bandai Banshee Norn (Unicorn Mode) in Titanium Finish!

Oh wow, that's awesome.

Hope Barnes and Noble get some of them, there's no hobbytown anywhere near where I live.

I'm curious what kind of prices they listing these premium kits at... Care to share how much that Norn set you back?

43 bucks. Which seems to be a good price, because i see the same kit listed on some other sites for 70+.

The Gunpla Expo kits seemed to be about 5-10 bucks more than normal kits, judging on the two that I checked. Saw a Clear Ver. RG Zeta for 38 (regular version is about 33), a clear MG FAUC for 89 (regular version is about 80). Not sure about the others because I don't really like the clear kits and didnt bother looking at them. There were about 6 kits with p-bandai boxes, banshee norn was the only one that interested me.

Little chance of that happening. B&N only carries a handful of things, and I dont think they are selling well. Waiting for the axe to fall on gunpla @ B&N honestly. Most of the B&Ns around the metro atlanta area have already done away with their Gundam displays.

Yeah, my local Hobbytown got the Unicorn Banshee, the Destiny Gundam orange exclusive, and some other stuff.
Really thinking about getting that Banshee HG. :/

I opened the Titanium banshee this morning. Unfortunately this one suffers from the same problem as the rest of the HG Unicorn kits. STICKERS FOR EVERYTHING.

Unlike my Titanium Sinaju, where all the gold trim stickers were located on the jet black pieces - the stickers for the gold trim on the banshee go directly onto pieces that are the same color as the main suit or on pieces of the main suit itself. So it would be impossible to match with paint. Which means I can't do the reverse wash on these pieces. Which means I'll have to use the shitty gold stickers. Ugh.

So I've only started to get into Gunpla recently and have focused mostly on just HG 1/144 and hopefully get better at it, atm I'm happy with doing just straight assembly.lol Anyway I'm a Freedom Gundam fan who just finished the Remastered HG kit and I plan to pick up an RG of it as well as the HG REVIVE, then I came across this post about Robot Spirits Freedom Gundam at gundam guy. From what I understand no assembly is needed and I plan to get this just for collection, but just for added information how is the quality? Are they as good as the HG line or not worth the price?

Since your getting in Gunpla, I suggest trying out some LBX models as well. The designs are great and the kits themselves are very well thought out making finding pieces you need at the time quick and painless. I also like how they molded the pieces to the runners so that nubs are very small making it easy to get rid of them. I posted a couple of mine on here if want to get a good reference. I think I actually own more LBX models than Gundam now haha!

Their selection is pretty limited most of the time.

I don't deny it but it's the only location that's a reasonable distance from where I live (60 miles) that physically stocks gunpla. It sucks living in a town that's in the ass end of Alabama. It's why I always order online.

I think maybe I just got lucky finding the RG Wing Zero there.

I think you're better off importing anyway. Amazon gets great prices and even discounted for models.

So good, makes me so wet. Bannam come out with an MG of this please. I would eat this up so fast if this kit fixed all the issues with colors and stickers. Too bad you can tell there's a nasty sticker decal on the shield already...

You shut your filthy mouth. Allenby doesn't have anything on the greatness that is a German Japanese ninja also more commonly known as SCHWARZ BRUDER or when he's helping: KYOJI.

Robot Damashii are fantastic. In the last year or so i've picked up 14 of them. Somewhat addicted.

Amuro obsessed when he has the perfect one in front of him. You got someone better, Lalah died for Char. Take the L.

Dude goes on to father Beltorchika's child and dies, leaving her to raise the kid on her own.

Same for Sayla. Scumbag's gotta carry on that Gundam tradition of bad fathers.

I've done a little research on this. From the reviews and impressions I've read, the bad includes 1) the hips are crap 2) it has some bad nubs, particularly on the the thighs and front(!) of the ankle guards 3) the rail guns on the flight backpack have a weak connection 4) I've seen some trouble keeping up the beam rifle but that's just one instance and the others look fine 5) the head looks a little fonky (one reviewer said it's too high on the head and a little misshapen - I haven't dwelt on it enough to say)

The rest of it looks really neat though. A good non-chrome gold (with a second, different gold here and there). Both backpacks. Waterslides. Lots of cool beam effect parts. And a sharp look overall. Apparently the whole kit is undergated too, which is nice, and some of the connections are very solid - One review mentioned how tightly the rifle/beam saber hilts attach to the side skirts. Also, the hand options include fully articulated fingers.

I finished 0079 last night, I'm really impressed how solid those last couple of episodes are. I watched the first episode of Zeta and the leap in animation is ridiculous. I'm super excited to go through it.

But didn't the teaser for the new Gundam animu say something about
adding on more parts as it defeats enemies
?

Yea and I'm interested in seeing where that goes story-wise. When that was first mentioned my initial thought was "easy way to get more kits out".

But the idea of an evolving or slowly upgraded Gundam can make for some nice story elements. I'm sure we'll get a Flight Pack version, an Assault/Heavy version, etc... but in one of the clips it
seemed to show the suit without any legs and more tank like
so it could be interesting seeing that evolution from battle to battle.

I think that the action figures actually have better quality and details in comparison to the kits.

Out of the box yes, at least for high grades. Real grade and up however, blows figures away.

To be honest, the only Gundam figures that didn't end up disappointing me were the Gundam Fix Figuration line. Pricey, but very, very beautifully detailed. I have an issue with Robot Damashii figures looking like toys and being priced like collector items, not to mention the occasional defect, paint quality control screw up, and excessively loose joint..

I think they're great figures that suffer from being overpriced, but since I always end up posing them in some kind of standing position, it was easy for me to sell off my collection.

Too late, I caved and I'm gonna be doing this side by side with the Hyaku Shiki 2.0 when the Akatsuki arrives in a couple weeks.

I haven't heard too many issues other than the ones you pointed out and it seems like this suit is praised pretty well in regards to quality for a third party.
