I was trying to keep my notes short, so when I said "very much don't recommend the movie version" I meant I thought the movies were bad and don't recommend them. I really dislike how the ending changed (Tomino is maybe George Lucas's Japanese doppelgänger). I kind of think a lot of the changes were meant to retcon ZZ out of existence. As for the mobile suits, a lot of it just seemed like more guns and more spiky crap. Hyakushiki and Ass-hammer were cool.I can't wait to see your opinion on Victory Gundam...if you only watched the movie version of Zeta you really didn't watch the whole series since it cut a lot of stuff out, and changed the ending. CCA didn't do Char or Amuro any favors and the side characters are dumb as hell, soundtrack is great though. ZZ isn't even that bad and I enjoyed it more on my second watch of it actually Judau isn't my favorite protag, but he's a lot of fun since he's the least angsty of them with plenty of swag. I love Unicorn, but the two main protags are fucking annoying and Banagher is vanilla as fuck. There's nothing about him that really stands out outside of his Kamille Bidan haircut. The less said about Riddhe the better. I guess you didn't like the animal motiffs for some of the Zeta designs or was it the Macross levels of transforming suits?yo fuck Riddhe
The radiator fins are cool, I'll give you that.I'm only just starting on Victory as well after going through UC for the first time, and, while I agree with most of this, I would personally put F91 higher and Unicorn lower. Despite the pacing of F91, I thought it was relatively straightforward even with the somewhat open ending, and the suit designs were pretty neat. Especially liked F91 with the radiator fins. Unicorn started great and had great production values, but the whole mystery around Laplace's Box as well as the bullshit levels of Newtype/psychoframe magic just got way too ridiculous for me.
Oh yeah, so much incest rape imagery in ZZ, especially that creepy ass Glemy...keeping pre pubescent girls in a room nude in a see through tube. I should probably watch Unicorn again, it's been awhile. I don't hate it by any stretch of the imagination though. I think Glemy starts off as a mirror to Banagher a bit as the man that will do things that Banagher doesn't have the balls to do, but he starts to come off as a spoiled pain in the butt at around ep 5 I think. I still think Zinnerman should've shot his ass at the end though. Beecha and Mondo can go eat a dick, if Bright had any common sense in that series he would have tossed their asses into outer space. My only problem with Judau was how he handled Elpeo Puru's death, she acted like a sister to him and I do believe saved his life and he didn't shed a single tear for her. Kamille is quite outspoken and brash, but he cared for everybody, even shed a tear for Rosamia and went nuts at one point towards the end regarding all the death he was seeing. I guess that's actually how you can compare Banagher to Kamille, Banagher cared about everybody...and they both fell for the first woman they saw...luckily Kamille came back to hot ass Fa.I was trying to keep my notes short, so when I said "very much don't recommend the movie version" I meant I thought the movies were bad and don't recommend them. Judau definitely redeems his butthole tendencies in the first half of the series, but Beecha and Mondo can go to hell. Leina is maybe the best character in the whole series, so it's a shame she doesn't get more screen time. Also, holy crap is the level of loli, little sister love-on-the-brink-of-incest crap way too high. I get that it's a thing in a lot of anime, but it's gross, man. And Haman is such a badass.
I watched Unicorn as it was released, and often ended up rewatching each previous episode whenever a new one came out just to recap what happened. But this most recent time, after every episode, my wife and I were like "damn, this is really good!" Riddhe... I won't say I like him, but I think he's a great character. My wife hates him too, so we went back and forth about it for a while. Banagher, though, he's way awesome. I see why you'd compare him to Kamille, but maybe that's why he's so great?
The radiator fins are cool, I'll give you that.
Oh, and this is a crappy AG kit that I've had in a box for a couple years (got it for a couple hundred yen, mostly for the TryAge card). My wife did some nice work on it, though! She was going for an abandoned ruins look.
Beecha and Mondo
I'm convinced Bright lost his god damn mind at around Ep 1...the true ep 1, not the recap episode. Dude made poor decisions left and right. The space ass of the La vi en rose chick must've fucked with his head real good. These assholes are the reason why I can't like ZZ. I can handle the weird tonal shift from Zeta to Scooby-Doo and back to Zeta Gundam. Hell, the cheese of the first 20 episodes is actually kind of fun if you can separate it from the rest of the UC shows. Judeau is actually one of my favorite protagonists and the ZZ Gundam looks ace, but those two characters are insufferable. They try and steal the Gundam repeatedly, even after Judeau and the others decided to team up with the Argama. They betray the Argama several times to Neo-Zeon and almost get everyone killed. They should have been ejected into space ages ago, but instead Mondo is rewarded by given command of the Argama. Bright must have lost his mind when he decided that this was a good idea.
Was in Leeds for a conference today and swung by the gunpla shop there afterwards and got these.
And yay, more Crossbone Ghost in Gundam Ace.
Everyone talks about how awesome Domon and Master Asia are, but I forgot just what a badass Schwartz Bruder is.
And how hilarious his character design is.
[*]F91 - If you don't read the F90 and Crossbone mangas, you'll probably just be scratching your head most of the time, really bad mobile suit designs, poor man's Darth Vader is the worst.

Damn and I just bought a RX-78 SD. Both of these look great. So they just announced a new line of SD gunpla called EX-Standard.

More pose-able than a average SD and going along the most popular gundams. Pretty excited for it.
Love it!!!Oh, and this is a crappy AG kit that I've had in a box for a couple years (got it for a couple hundred yen, mostly for the TryAge card). My wife did some nice work on it, though! She was going for an abandoned ruins look.

Wasn't the song sung to him by his multi racial band women? Yeah G Gundam was not afraid to go ham on the cheese. I can't wait till you get a scene so cheesy it's endorsed by Kraft. So Chibodee Crocket, the real American hero who pilots a cowboy boxer surfer football player Gundam, has to fight a clown piloting a clown-shaped Gundam as his next opponent. Problem is, Chibodee is afraid of clowns. Understandable, but the show's writers don't stop there. He's afraid of clowns because when he was five his mother was gunned down by clown terrorists in front of his eyes and he is traumatized by the memory. The only thing that can give him the strength to face his fears is the song his mother sang to him every night as a child... America the Beautiful.
holy shit this is poetry

Graham became a lame samurai in season 2. Chibodee Crocket is the best.Graham Aker was a bit more tasteful portrayal of Americans.
I honestly think it's the best episode of G-Gundam so far because it's so ridiculous. I can't think of anything that can top this episode.I was just thinking about this scene while trying to plan out my review of the series. I can't not cover it after all and that episode feels weird compared to the other ones going on around the same time in the series.

Forgive me if this is late, didn't see a post about it, but...
*deep breath*
IT'S FINALLY COMING!

Also hopefully it's Heavyarms god-tier build quality and not Deathscythe garbage-tier quality
G gundam is the best
It is. How can people not enjoy a Windmill Gundam or another one with a Sombrero taht is called Tequila Gundam or a German ninja with Nazi aesthetic inspirations gundam? I'll never understand it.
G Gundam is great as long as you don't take it seriously. Sadly some people take it too seriously. I really do need to watch that hot blooded cheese fest again. "BECAUSE OF THIS GUY!!!" "Kyooooooooojiiiiiiiii!!!"Some people just aren't interested in having fun. It's weird
What season 2? Gundam 00 only had 25 episodes.Graham became a lame samurai in season 2. Chibodee Crocket is the best.

That Altron looks pretty great. I wonder if it comes with the backpack since it's the Glory of the Losers version?

That Altron looks really good.
Can't stress this enough.
I can't imagine it'll be much different than the Shenlong. So basically the best.
Also, there's an announcement for The Origin RX-78-2 due on the 22nd if I'm not mistaken.
I'm personally very, very excited.
It's like the perfect grill cheese sandwich.Obviously you aren't meant to take it seriously. The main ingredients of G gundam are ham and cheese after all LOL
The MG Altron is a P-Bandai exclusive.

So I guess my gunpla haul for the year will have been the Origin Zaku II and hopefully the Origin RX-78-2.

Really? Hahahahah. At least P-Bandai stuff has gotten easier to get, but still fuck that.
Assuming I can get it a decent priced shipped, I'll probably bite. It's such a good looking suit.
What's the best place to order it right now?
What's the best place to order it right now?
Gentei Kits
Kenbill
and of course from Premium Bandai shop itself. Easy to order, just is premium cost.
That said, so many P-Bandai exclusive so far. I'm still surprised Banshee/Norn and Tallgeese III is P-Bandai...
Gonna pass on the Altron unless I can find it for good price. I like the design but it suffers from the same issues as Wing Zero Custom and other EW suits in that the colorway sucks. Altron needs more red to go with the green.

Nippon-Yassan is my go-to ever since they started carrying premium Gunpla as well as the Tamashii Webshop stuff. Best prices I've found.
Wait, you can order direct from Bandai Premium? Do you need a middleman? I thought this was like the Tamshii Webshop and Japan exclusive.
