MG Altron and PG Banshee (in some capacity) P-Bandai exclusive? So I can cry right?

I'll just build my MG Astray Red Frame Kai while I sulk.

Bandai made the right move by making the OVA Ver of Banshee the exclusive. Norn is so much better. That railgun and dumb claw look terrible.

Oh no I mean it is easy if you have an address to send to. It isn't that difficult.

Another option is Email Sameuldecal, the person who runs it can order basically any limited kit from special Gundam events or P-Bandai. He ordered my friend the limited Gold Hong Kong Gundam Unicorn Ver Ka. Give him an item you want and he will quote and try to get for you.

There are tons of alternatives for those unable to order directly from the site.

I always noticed him advertising them, but I never actually ordered. If Nippon-Yassan's shipping is as hilariously high on Altron as it was on the Turn A Wings, I might give him a go. I've bought some decals from him before and he seems like a pretty awesome guy.

We're getting a new G-Tekketsu PV today and the cast announcement I think. Anyone excited?!

I can't wait to see Mitsuishi Kotono get casted as the best female chara in the show and Kamiya Hiroshi casted as the best male chara in the show.

MG The Origin RX-78. YES. So excited. Hopefully it has all the modular equipment it deserves. As is, it's gorgeous already. Day 0 buy. The Origin edition should've been the 3.0 release, but better late than never. Looks like it has Ver. Ka style hands, which means it should be a high budget kit like the Hyaku-Shiki ver 2. Surprised it's November kit, though. What's December? MG XI Ver Ka seems like the most likely bet I guess. Maybe the G-Self, but I don't think that'll be a December unless they do something crazy with it.

4860 yen seems pretty high for a kit that size. Hopefully that means he's getting all those accessories.

That's pretty badass looking. Is this the Gundam Amuro gets or a prototype version of it?

The RX-78-2 gets upgraded over the course of the manga. The version you see there is the final modification made to do well in space combat. That's why it has the extra thrusters. It also is much more modular than the original RX-78. That cannon, for example, is an optional backpack accessory it can ditch one of its beam sabers for.

Man I should start reading The Origin too bad I'm cheap...a lot more brains were put behind it than in the original series. They got rid of that Victory Gundam combining mechanic for The Origin right? Cause I always thought that was a bit stupid.

The Origin is my favorite Gundam series. You should totally read it. The vertical releases are also really high quality for the price (in the US). Worth the cost, easily for me.

As for ditching the combining mechanic, the sort of do it. You never see them deploy the RX-78 in different components and have it combine outside like in the original. They also ditch the G-Fighter for the Core Boosters like the movies. I really like the G-Fighter, but it's definitely one of the more sillier mechs in the series.

The RX-78-2 still has a core fighter, though. I believe it's just for escape use.

Holy hell, straight to MG!

Can't wait to see more. Also, more images of the Altron showed up, and I may end up buckling and picking it up anyway. My favorite Gundam from Wing, second only to the Tallgeese II. Curious if the Origin RX-78 will take the GFFMC route and include all the options.

Either way, great day for gunpla!

Altron looks great. I'm surprised it's able to hold stable poses on those dragon heads without stands for them. I'm interested to see what engineering wizardry is behind that.

I've been staring at the MG Origin RX-78. The parts that are modular on the manga suit do look interchangeable here. You see seems on the knees and the tops of the shoulders where those could be replaced with the space-use armor. The chest vents also look like they can be switched out. Hopefully that means you can replicate all the variations of the chest design. I want to be able to have my 1 vent + vulcan and my 2 vents for space use.

Here's the link to the video on GundamInfo's YouTube channel.
So the MC (Mikazuki Augus) is voiced by Kengo Kawanishi?... Actually had to look up who that is and apparently I've only heard him in Aldnoah.Zero.
The premise seems somewhat familiar but I'm interested in seeing how it is.

Gundam Tekketsu is back on TBS (Tokyo Broadcast System), so Bandai/Sunrise must be confident that this Gundam will be a commercial success since it returned to its original airing time slot. If that's the case it might end up being a pretty good series?

I guess that the Altron arms fold out through a joint and copper wire is used to reinforce the dragon fangs and make them flexible much like the Kampfer's Chain Mine. The hands might be pretty light so that's why it works or it only works at that angle. It seems very flexible and Bandai's wire that they use with the Evangelion plugs are pretty strong.

Tho the retractable arms means something good since Bandai might be able to use that tech for a Gundam Virsago model.

The RX-78 seems to have similar parts to the 2.0? With alterations that allow it to interchange parts easily? Seems like they might do what they can so that they can recycle runners.

So if the G-Fighter isn't there then what does Sayla do? I did like her as combat personnel so hopefully she's still able to shoot down some zeons or job some Zakus.

Just realized the promo information for the Altron spells it "Walts" .... when the word "Waltz" from the title font is literally next to it lol. Japan will never change.

The GM 2 Striker is so great, I love the beam glaive.

Seriously, what the fuck happened to 00.

I remember frequenting a bunch of anime community sites back in the day, and we were all so fucking convinced during season one that this was going to be a god-tier, GoAT non-UC franchise. We got to the end of the first season, spent the whole break speculating at how things would pan out... and we got the abortion that was S2.

I mean, I think people forget just how good season one was, because of how shitty everything was after it.

You can't forget when season one was so good in comparison.

The ending of G Gundam is great. Love conquers all by shooting laser hearts that inexplicably transform into giant bearded kings.

I didn't even like season 1 very much, but season 2 certainly dropped the ball on everyone but Tierria.

The proportions and the head on the MG RX-78-02 Origin look way off. I hope it's not the final model

It looks good to me. It's just at an awkward low camera angle and a terrible pose. I'm not sure why anyone thought putting it that wide legged with one leg twisted was a good idea.

I sure hope this leads to a MG The Origin line. I'd love to have an Origin Zaku or Guntank and it'd be a great excuse to redo the Guncannon, Dom, Gelgoog, Z'Gok, GM etc. Most of the origin designs are much improved anyway. I love The Origin's Guncannon in particular.

It's so beefy.

Ordered this today. Will be here Monday. Awwww yeah

You're in for a treat, I have that figure and the quality is superb. Easily, easily worth the price tag. It's one of very few figures I've ever considered or bought that I felt were premium enough for their premium price tag.

Help me out GunplaGAF, I must choose one MG. Altron or RX-78? Both have a place in my collection, and both are very well liked designs.

Altron.

Origin is a main release and will be easily gotten should you get more room.

Altron will only get harder and more expensive.

If they were both normal releases, the RX-78 Origin would be my pick. One of the greatest of all time designs.

They aren't, though, so you're only going to reasonably get one or two shots at Altron before the price shoots through the roof. Get Altron now and grab the RX-78 later on.

It's both incredibly goofy and awesome at the same time, which sort of describes the series in a sense. I always loved that shot where they zoom out from the Burning Gundam till you see the attack left a heart shaped hole in the Dark Gundam.

Finished the head and torso so far. Liking the kit a lot so far with everything being mostly undergated and with a tight fit. Undergated pieces means not many bad nubs at all. Seriously the gold finish is strong and you won't scratch the finish at all unless you use a knife.

The tight fit so far means nothing is really loose but it takes a little force to put things together.

The biggest bullshit so far was just building the head in that you will need to shave/sand the eye piece a little bit so that it fits. For the most part the head is okay but it can get a little frustrating because of how tight it can get.

Seems like it has multiple weapons, if I remember right there was a mace... or spear or something in one preview. Maybe I just saw it wrong.

The gimmick is that it's a salvaged mech which builds up an arsenal and different modes as the show progresses by further salvaging parts and equipment from defeated enemies. So in the same way, the Barbatos gunpla is fully compatible with a range of parts and equipment from other gunpla in the same line. Shoulder parts, some armor parts, weapons, etc. Collect em all.

What kit for the RX-78-2 is your favorite? There are a lot out there and I'm curious what you all think is the best one? I was considering picking up the RG. What's different about this Origin one coming out? I haven't watched/read the Origin stuff yet so I'm not familiar with the changes.

For me personally I enjoy the OYW version.

That said the 3.0 is the best model for the more detailed styled 78-2, and the 2.0 if you want it more chunky and Anime style.
