The Gundam |OT2| Another 5 years of Gunpla, Origins, and GUNDAMUUUU!

He dropped a bomb and said G-Reco takes place after, even though during production it was marketed as before. And with all the liberal references to UC, it makes sense as sometime after UC as well.

Probably just wanted to mess with the fandom.

There is stuff to like in this show. It's quite good. I can tell is better thought out then say, seed or age.

I do like the setting and the grit. But I haven't really fallen in love with it yet though.

Does Loran have the lowest body count of any Gundam protag? I think he has destroyed a grand total of 2 suits in a lethal way so far and I'm through episode 40. I guess there is 10 more episodes for things to go crazy.

Loran is not Heero and Turn A isn't that kind of show any way. Unless the last couple of episodes turn into a complete bloodbath since I got side tracked at around the point you're at now and never finished it.

Loran easily has the lowest kill count of any main Gundam protag. I don't think he actually gets a lethal kill until the very last arc.

Now I'm wondering who has the most.

For sure, it is actually one of the reasons I like Turn A so much. It focuses a lot more on the characters and politics of the situation than the action sequences.

My money is on either Heero, Setsuna, Amuro or Kamille.

Yeah that was the most jarring aspect of the show for me, but once I settled down and paid attention to how they handled Kihel and Dianna I just sat back and enjoyed it.

Flit Asuno from AGE because he basically wanted to commit genocide up until the last 2 episodes.

Domon technically kills only like 2 people. Kyoji.

I think that comes down to how most characters actually do want to settle things peacefully and diplomatical, without war, aside from a few extremists.

I keep forgetting about him. I can never remember how many people that kid dropped in that show.
Yo god damn!!!

Based Uso. Him pulling the trigger on the Big Cannon probably accounts for a lot of it.

Usso has seen some shit. You count individuals on each battleship and his numbers might be 1k+.

I wanted to say Quatre but I don't know if anyone was in that colony when he blew it up.

At one point I was considering making gunpla for each of the main Gundams in every series + my favorite antagonist/secondary MS from each series. That will get expensive/take up a ton of room quickly, so I was considering narrowing it down to my favorite MS from each series.

Here's what I got so far.
MS Gundam: RX-78-2
08th MS Team: Ez8
War in the Pocket: Between Alex, Hygogg, or Kampfer
Stardust Memory: GP01 or GM Custom (I might just do both because of how much I like both of these suits)
Zeta: Zeta
ZZ: Queen Mansa (if only...), guess I'll just do the ZZ then.
Char's Counterattack: Nu and Sazabi (both are too good to pass up
Unicorn: Unicorn
F91: F91 (need to look over the Crossbone suits again)
Victory: V2 (Are there any models for the tire?)
G: ??? (Maybe none)
Wing: Tallgeese
X: Original version of X
Turn A: Turn A
SEED: Aile Strike or Aegis
Destiny: ??? (haven't watched the show yet)
00: ??? (need to look over the suits again, it has been too long)
AGE: ??? (Haven't seen it)
G-Reco: ??? (Haven't seen it)

Some series are in flux because I need to refresh myself on the other suits. Most likely I won't do this at all and only build my favorite suits, but it would be neat.

HGs or MGs? Some of these have REALLY good MGs and though it's gonna be twice as expensive as an HG, they're much more fun in my opinion.

Also go watch G Reco, the BD Set is easily GOAT with the art and extras.

That depends on how much I like the suit and space considerations. I'm for sure getting a MG RX-78-2, but I might just get a RG for the GP01. I think I'll do MG for the suits I like the most, RGs for those that have them, and HGs for the rest. I only suspect I will get MG for a few suits.

MG I'm leaning towards getting
RX-78-2
Nu and Sazabi
Unicorn

Any MGs that really stand out? Or are there any HGs that are so old that picking up the MG would just be better?

Wing HGs are terrible. Get the MG Tallgeese.

The SEED MGs are pretty good too. Strike and Aegis especially.

To be honest I just prefer MGs so I would go MGs and RGs of the leftovers. The builds and details are much more fun, whether or not you paint. It's worth it.

Unicorn has problems because it transforms so if you do get Unicorn, you mind as well get the Full Armor Unicorn. Sure it's green instead of red but the extras are worth it and it's a stupid long, if maybe tedious build. I love how cool FAUC looks when you're done, but building it takes a ton of time.

The extra parts can be shared and given to other MGs with few accessories.

Oh, I remember this one. One of the G-Self's wings was cut off in the previous scene, but looked good as new in this scene. Glad they fixed it in the BD.

The MG MKII (Ver. 2.0) is really nice in my opinion. It's my favorit UC MS design outside of maybe the Gouf, but I don't think the Gouf kits are that good.
I like the MG Turn A as well, tall and real solidly built.

When a guy needs a multi-part kill video, you know he's the winner.
Usso's enemies just couldn't stand up to the Victory, he'll always be a winner forever.

Usso has seen the most shit, he's the only one I can think of that had the privilege of
seeing his mothers head knocked off by the wheel of the giant battleship and then carrying her head around like a god damn bowling ball.

Now that we all agree that Barbatos is ugly and the worst– I have an optimistic, hopeful theory.

Human's technology has regressed, and inevitably Barbatos will be destroyed and cannot be recreated. Instead they build something with what they have, and good news for us, it resembles the Gundam we know and love.

RIP Eureka 7 monstrosity.

I like Barbatos just fine! I'm holding off on buying a kit for now because I want to see what the mid-season upgrade looks like. Or does this modularity/scavenging plot gimmick mean there'll be like 3-4 versions of the hero MS? Or just a bunch of accessory kits to attach onto the base frame?

I suggest picking some of the RGs since they're top quaility and some being better than their MG counterparts with the Exia being a prime example of that.

No, I quite like the Barbatos' designs.

Sure looking like MG RX-78 The Origin doesn't have all the different option parts. I'm severely disappointed. Still my favorite RX-78, but the way it gets upgraded over time is one of my favorite things.

Barbatos is fantastic. So is anything from the original E7. The new designs from the movie and AO are trash, but OG E7 has got amazing original design work.

Don't watch a review of the current Barbatos Gunpla. I was actually okay with Barbatos until I watched one and now I can see only the source designs flaws.

I don't know anything about E7, and have no problem with it, I just think Barbatos looks like it's out of anything besides Gundam. I'm actually relieved everyone (EVERYONE!) in this thread also thinks the design is bad. :))))

Finally finished MG Sazabi Ver. Ka, he is gigantic for a MG.

Took me more than a month to finish him, I took multiple long break because of all the thrusters that I had to sand. The thrusters are tiny, round, pain in the ass to sand, and Sazabi had millions of them.

Sorry for the shitty photo, had to use my Nexus 4 since I no longer have a camera.

It already looks so good without decal or detail lines.

Sazabi ver Ka is my favorite MG. The only thing that even comes close is the Nu ver Ka. I'm really hoping the V2 is something special as well. It's looking great so far.

Nice, my Sazabi Ver. Ka is collecting dust unbuilt. I need to make time for it or find a way to trade or sell it.

Hoping RE1/100 Kshatriya comes out soon and MG G Self so I can trade off my Sazabi for those two.

I want to keep the Sazabi but so much...

Ok ( ._.)

I miss the days where I was ok with just building a kit oob.

Sazabi is one of the best MGs too. Must think I'm crazy to hold onto Sazabi to trade for Kshatriya and G Self or something...

I have a big backlog and a lot on my plate and need to get in right attitude before I start building again. The most complex ones and biggest part counts are on the bottom of my list as of right now...

Full Armor Unicorn really sucked out a lot of my motivation with all the weapons and amount of decals and work. I'm still not done doing it...
