Anyone familiar or know good resources for resin kits? I'm going to order my first one tonight and I'm going in blind.

I've only built some resin accessories, but this tutorial helped me at least to get an idea where to start.

Learning how to pin parts was of course super important for resin and has even helped me a ton in regular modeling. Being able to repair a broken joint by pinning is awesome. I can't find the tutorial I used for that, but maybe someone else can dig one up.

Applying stickers to real grade is really as awful as I thought it was going to be. It deserves a special place in hell.

Oh man we need to link you duckroll's experience building his RG...

RG means regret. I am amazed you spent 50+ US dollars on him for your first RG.

yeah, special techniques are needed.

check out the links i shared to TheFlow, it will help immensely, took me 30 days to finish my first rg decals. so stressful. you definitely have to cut the decals down on the RG's

Cool thanks. I only had to apply one so far, and it looks like that will be the only that needed to be applied before fully building the gundam (the ankle guard).

I mean there are eye stickers, but I don't think I'm going to use them for them that part.

Honestly that and the red frame are the only ones I kinda want. I heard the RG 78-2 is kinda lacking now, compared to later models, which is the only one I really want.

Of course if they make more rainbow variants I"m in as well.

On the plus side if I fuck up, Gundam Planet has at least sixty more of them, so I'm set.

Given the way the MG transforms, no it can't. The leg sections needs to plug into the upper body before the core fighter can plug in. The plugs that hold the core fighter in place are on the top and bottom sections and there's no way to click it in without those pieces together as far as I can see.

This design is good. Actually, almost everything that isn't Barbatos i've seen is good. Maybe i'll start watching it again.

Based on videos it can transform from to other with the same amount time as a large transformer

The V2 can transform and can form the top and bottom fighters, it just can't do it like the GIF from what I've seen. The top fighter and bottom fighter need to be transformed and clicked together before the core fighter can go in.

So the rumor from people who would know is that the V2 Variants are going to be P-Bandai exclusive. Dammit. Why do you do this to me Bandai? At least separate them out into an upgrade kit. Given what they've done with P-Bandai in the past, that seems like the likely outcome. Still, if V2-AB only is released as a P-Bandai full kit I will be the saddest person ever.

I hope they are just upgrade kits like the wing effects because no way am I buying a full p-bandai kit. I can already picture the price of 100 dollars.

Given the way they've handled upgrades recently, I expect both options to be available. They'll probably do something like they did with the MG Turn A wings. You can get the wings separately, or get a version packed with the V2 and maybe a special finish on the kit or special decal set. I think the upgrade kit is 100% certain unless they need to remold huge parts of the frame or something to accommodate. Don't see why they would. Maybe that's me being too optimistic.

I'm buying V2 AB however I can get it, but that doesn't mean I'm going to be happy. Haha.

That would be for the best considering I just bought the effect wings and v2. I will have to see if the V2 has areas for upgrade parts on it

The V2 AB parts are weird. The shoulder and knee parts are easy clip ons. The front skirt piece is a complete replacement, but an easy one. The thing that is the most difficult is the backpack pieces. They might need major changes to the core fighter for that.

Since they included 2 fighters with the original kit, no reason they couldn't include another in an upgrade kit if needed.

but this is bandai mane. I don't expect logic from them

I can't think of an instance where a full exclusive variant was produced where an upgrade would've sufficed. Every P-Bandai variant has had a dramatic shift in mold or colors as far as I can recall. Anything that's just a weapon set, accessories, armor or effects has been offered as a separate kit.

hey, are those in U.S. residents streaming IBO on crunchyroll or something else?

youtube region locks it and i haven't tried a vpn. so jealous other people get it first.

So I understand why people might not like the RG Astray's waist connection. really finicky there. I don't mind it too much, but the build looks awesome so far (just head/weapons/backpack left).

I love the RG Astray. Once I got the waist snapped in well, it held up perfectly for me.

Only warning is watch out with the posable hands. One of the fingers snapped on mine. It's the first RG that I had that happen to. Not sure if the multi-color molding makes them more brittle or I just had bad luck.

The fixed hands are better at holding weapons anyway, but those are sadly molded in a single color and painting the white parts on hands that small can be tricky.

almost forgot to tell you guys I started and stopped watching:

Gundam Reconguista in G
the first episode was just a hot mess and the second episode made me stop. does it get better?

G Reco starts a bit slowly, but it gets better as it goes.

Whether you'll like where it goes is up to you. I personally enjoyed the series well enough. Could have certainly used more episodes, though.
