i had a question re UC vs. AU, is it really true that beam sabers that clash in UC don't have the same effect and go right through each other in AU? so AU suits have to defect beam sabers w/ other conventions?

I don't think so. Beam sabers always clash as far as I remember.

Beam Sabers are light sabers, and the point of lightsabers is to:

Cut through metal

and

Clash with each other to give off cool noises and sparks

Lol no, that isn't the case.

AU is different with each one and they very wildy.

Wing for instance has one of the strongest Beam Melee weapons when you factor in Epyon's nuclear powered beam sword and even it clashes,

That said each universe has its own unique properties.

I swear Wing has the best beam melee weapons.

Thanks that helps. I have done a lot of modeling in the past but I'm pretty rusty. Still not sure exactly when I would want to fill in the torso seams but I haven't dealt with the fancy new joints either. Fully assembling it first sounded like it would make detailing daunting, but I'll give it a try on my next one.

You can shave off the peg at a 45 degree angle to make disassembled easier.

I love Epyon's and Deathscythe Hell EW multi directional beam scythe.

Having a Beam Sword that can from just slightly bigger then a Saber all the way to large enough to slice the Space Fortress barge in half was amazing.
Any thoughts on the Rg red astray and wing gundam

RG Wing Gundam EW?

Been out just a couple of days, and I have not received mine yet.

Same basic kit as Wing Zero EW and that kit is one of the very RG's as far as quality and stability. Wing Gundam EW should be as good if not better given the color and I prefer that design lol.

Sorry should of said wing zero^

I wanted the mg wing zero but I here bad things about it
MG Wing Zero is a pretty great suit given it was made in 2004.

Most of its issues are a product of the time and even still it holds up remarkably well.

The biggest issues are the TBR which it can hold separately with ease and you can manage the combined form. The wings are heavy but they hold posses amazing well, I've had mine possed in it current form for months with zero change in wing position,

Is the RG better? In some ways yes, but honestly I hate the redesign of Wing Zero EW and I was actually very happy with the Wing Zero and Wing Gundam Ver Ka build.

I've built it three times so far and each time so long as you expect it to have some issues, it will leave you pleased.

Proto Zero though if you like it far surpasses Zero EW's build.

Wing Zero RG - back heavy as hell, but then with its back pack, and to allow it to be multiple pieces with a moving waist joint it's nearly impossible to avoid so I don't mind that.

Weapons are good, decals are good. Solid, it is one of the top three RG's as far as stability and just playability.

As I mentioned above I really hate the redesign, and don't listen to some people who say it didn't change much as it has been pretty heavily if your familiar with the suit. Nicks and lines are completely different, completely changes the over all clean and smooth look it once had. They also ditched the all white hands it's had in recent years and also ditched the Violet/purple sensor that was housed in the head.

Really simple build as well all things considered and certainly one of the easiest amoung the line with only Exia being as simpleof my latest builds (Exia has given some people some hell, and one piece - the head vents - did me, but overall I'm confused by those who have a problem with it.) in the line.

Amazing write up and will take it in consideration because I wanna finish my wing gundam collection.

Also thank you guys for the awesome opinions on victory gundam. Can't wait to start that this year

don't forget those feathers on a stand, that's what made the RG hot =P hahaha

apologizes:

more specifically wanted to know if CE beam sabers can't clash and will go through each other.

this is interesting: guy claims that CE beam sabers can't repel.
just re-quoting:

so gundam theory fans, is this true? Cosmic Era beam sabers go right through each other?

I think JadedWriter and I are the only two people here who like Victory. Well, I think it is just middling for a Gundam series, but I don't dislike it. I think Victory does a good job showing the atrocities of war and how that can affect people. Uso is one of the youngest protagonists in Gundam and he sees more terrible crap than any other. Sadly, the mech design is flat out terrible besides the V2 and the villains aren't great.

I don't hate Victory. I think it does far more wrong than it does right, but what it does right I find to be very interesting. I also like some of the mech design in it quite a bit, even if I hate a good chunk of them as well.

It has the V2 AB. Can't hate it because of that. Such a fantastic design. Isn't the V2 the first unit to have the Wings of Light design idea? That's become one of my favorite design cliches, so I'm predisposed to be more forgiving to the series.

Lol stand is nice. It can go with either Wing or Wing Zero EW, and could easily work with Proto Zero, Snow White, or Black Zero should they ever release them as well.

Of course you can still watch it but know that you'll be putting your health at risk and a part of gundamgaf did try to stop you. It was so bad I started watching SCHOOL DAYS instead and that was an UPGRADE.

Ended up deciding against getting the Long Range Booster Barbatos and went with just he normal one. Given how I'd like to display Barbatos, I honestly am not sure how I'd even use the booster so I can't see it's worth the extra to buy and ship to me. Also grabbed the Gusion, because at that price why not.

Going to grab the weapon pack with the cannon once that gets out of backorder. Barbatos looks way too cool with the cannon to not.

Picked up the RG Blue Frame Astray popped and open and was intimidated by the sticker sheet.

I'll stick with high grades for a while, probably going to head back and pick up the HG Barbatos.

The sad truth of victory Gundam is that its an awful show about child rape and yet is still better than shit like 00 S2.

We know you think that Cross Ange is the best Sunrise Robot Show ever.

Blue Frame is just a Red Frame without the Gerbera Straight and with a Bazooka instead.

For a limited P-Bandai Kit I would have recommended you get the MG Astray Blue Frame instead of the RG one due the the price and the extras that the MG has, but it's a nice kit regardless.

Red Frame is a nice build, it just has issues with the torso falling apart and the face mask not being as sharp as other depictions of the frame.

Plus there is pretty much zero chance we don't see a Blue Frame Second L/Revise or Frame D as a standard release in the future.

Boss Doggie

all my loli wolf companions are so moe
I'm kinda disappointed with the Tryon-3 kit. But I guess maybe it's my fault because I had some... uh... high expectations.

I honestly prefer the 144 scale, which is why i'm ignoring masters for now. I really like the Astray designs (up there with the grandpappy RG-78-X 2 for me)so I'd probably go for both MG laters on.

And I much prefer the zooka over the sword, but I digress going to putz around with some hgs before doing so.

I haven't bought any kits here so far other than the iDOLM@STER Typhoon. I shouldn't tho, I have a big backlog. I spent money on other shit.

Just throwing that out there since the Astray doesn't really come with many extras.

Feel free to let us know if you need help with Gunpla since it can be intimidating at first.

question: how do you get pictures to post small and when you click, it resizes to a larger image?

Just hide them in quotes.

so it'll be quo.img url ./img./quo

There's no proper thumbnail function in gaf.

Thanks I should be good, my buddy's gotten the bug real hard core and's draggin me with him in hell (he just built the RG raiser and MK II A.E.U.G recently and won't shut up about them), so I think I should be good just want to dip my legs in the kiddy pool before going further in.

If you are sticking with 1/144 then:

Ibo kits: best build quality and rubbery frame

35th revive: updated older kits with better build quality. I own the freedom but they are all solid.

origin: fan of 0079? If yes then boom insta buy

But to be honest don't let mg 1/100 intimidate you at all. My first mg was a deathsytche and all I had to build it with was literally a hobby knife.

When it comes to hg kits I will basically buy anything since they are so cheap.
