Finally went back and paneled lined +decaled the front of my mg death scythe. I think the trick that worked for me was to fully press down on the dry rub fully before rubbing it across. Comes out perfect every time

Going to add the top for to it later and if I can find my screwdriver I will put it on the action base

Kira just gets worse and worse and oh god Seed Destiny. He eventually just becomes some creature that you can't even have a logical discussion with.

Oh boy. Sounds delightful. I'm starting to consider diving head-first into GSD once I'm done with SEED, so... I repeat: oh boy.

It was kinda cool, and also went hand in hand with the women being clothed, modestly chested and overall a pretty great set of designs of women. Thankfully Turn A had this with Dianna as well, just wish that SEED and OO had kept up the modest but quality character designs to go along with the broken women they had.

The camera's infatuation with Sumeragi's assets instantly pops to mind when I think about that. I seem to remember Nena Trinity getting lots of fanservice-y shots too. But there were some women who weren't so bad off; Maria was presented with a decent amount of dignity intact, as I recall.

Regarding Seed Destiny. Remember this sentence "but Cagali is crying" that is all. Marie was reduced to nothing more as a prize or something to be protected by Allelujah if I'm remembering part 2 right. She didn't get her time to shine till later I think. She was better handled as a younger kid in 00. At least Zeta didn't have any fan service.

Marie is one of my favorite characters in 00, so it's a real shame how much of a backseat she took for a long time in S2 after her relevance in S1 (and early S2). I'm quite disappointed by that. She has a few good scenes toward the end of S2, though, at least.

Hey guys. I just started getting into Gundam as it's something I've meant to do for ages. Watching MSG 00 as I've heard that's a pretty good starting point. Enjoying it a lot up to episode 3 and thinking about getting into Gunpla as well if I can find an Exia one in my local hobby shop.

Wondering what MSG games you guys would recommend? Even stuff I'd have to import because I'd like to have a look at some of them. I already have EXVS and it's pretty fantastic but I'm wondering what else is out there that's worth looking at.

Thanks!

Allelujah screaming Marie all the time really got annoying. Became annoying like a specific couple from Gundam Seed Destiny that I can't spoil for you. Andrew Waltfeld is great though. Best Ramba Ral that I can think of that is GBF Ramba Ral, whom is actually just some bum cosplaying as Ramba Ral probably.

(Laying it on a little thick, there, I know...)

Unfortunately I don't have much experience with Gundam gaming. All I've played are Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 and 3. Of those, I would sooner recommend 2, because 3 took out some things my friends and I enjoyed. However, I believe Reborn (which is essentially 4) righted the ship after the lackluster 3, if what I've heard is true. So maybe check that out instead.

Ha, I knew Waltfield reminded me of someone. (You can tell I'm still kind of new to the more hardcore side of Gundam fandom, heh.) Yes, he is totally a good Ramba Ral. I loved it when he took control of that MetalGarurumon-looking Cylon Raider four-legged mofo (I am so bad at this) and I loved it even more when he talked sauces.

Waltfeld is a total bro, he's pretty much an honorable general which really makes Ral Le Creuset a fucking nutcase when you think about it. You got cool dudes like Waltfeld in there taking order from a masked screaming nut job like Creuset? The Digimon mech is called a Baku.

Yea I pulled a duck roll but in my defense the mg deathsycthe is the worse constructed kit I have ever worked on... So fragile, overpriced, and don't get me started on the hands/weapons.

Haha this was my first mg that I ever bought so I decided to go back to it and clean it up/decal it.

the Altron is still to overpriced for me
I'd love to build some but money, work space and dexterity are keeping me from. My money goes to my photography hobby these days.

What's everyone's opinion on Gundam X?

IBO got me interested in watching some more Gundam (a couple years back I watched the original, Zeta, Wing, Turn A, and most of ZZ, need to finish that one) and so I wanna finish up a couple more series, wanted to start with X first since it's pretty short. On the other hand I never see anyone talk about this show, and even the games seem to barely focus on it---like I got DW Reborn yesterday, and all they still have is Gundam XX as the only MS from that series.

I don't have space to build them. I'd be on my bed building these things in my lap.

0083 and inject some of that Nina Purpleton into your veins. Then Victory Gundam which you'll probably hate me for recommending. Dude you should honestly watch G, that's a glaring omission on your part actually since it's a non Gundam Gundam show. If you like Shonen Jump shows you should like G.

I didn't watch it but from what I know it's not the most popular of shows. It doesn't help that it got cut short and the had to rush the ending because of it or that it came on the heels of the popular Gundam Wing show.
It still has its fans though and apparently handled some things rather cleverly. The most important thing for me is that it brought us Virsago Gundam.

my favorite villain of all time right there.
Lol, her mood swings and legs caused Kou to do some stupid things.

I found it average, overall. The characters were the strongest parts of it, but I can't really say I enjoyed much else, including the overall plot or mobile suit designs (most seemed like rehashes of Wing designs). I liked the premise and the setting, but it ended up being underutilized.

It really does make you wonder about the ZAFT power structure. I think half of Athrun's team are in there through nepotism alone.

MG Gundam X is a great kit so long as you have an action base.

GAT series is good, but Blitz is odd. Aegis was the only one to get its own frqme but some of the Blitz feels like it really needed it so it is qn awkward build....totes worth it though.

MG God, Shining, Master, Rising, and Speigel are worth it for the uniqueness of the build and they hold up better then most from that age.

MG Exia is meh but MG OOq is a total treat qnd while it sucks as a suit I lovevthe model kit.

Turn A made me respect the suit more, interesting build.

Oh, you mean Yzak, Not-Yzak, and Green-Haired Sheep Boy?

...hey, I got one in three. I'm improving...
Yes Yzak, Dearka and Nicole. I can't remember about Dearka but I know Yzak's mother is a higher up and I think Nicole's parents as well. And well Athrun's dad runs the damn thing if I'm not mistaken.
Well, Kou needed to grow up and eat his damn carrots.
I love how Anavel Cat made fun of him in the second episode I think it was. Kou called him Sir I think.

Virsago is Epyon and Altron with a chest gimmick (hence the Chest Breaker Name) the Arm connections are identical to that of Altron, didn't even try to make it unique like the shift from Dragon to Shenlong.

Airmaster and Airmaster Burst are Wing Gundam with an even lamer transformation and Leapord is Heavyarms but Destroy has a better color scheme (though HA took that back with the Teal vs Leapords Blue).

The only unique one of the lot is Hermitcrab.

It's hard to deny how some of the Mobile Suits from that show shared a little it too much elements with Gundams from the show before it. I think that was a common complaint as well.

Oh, while checking it again I was reminded of the Bertigo. I rather like its design as well, though it's no where near as popular as the Gundams apparently, unlike the Tallgeese.

Airmaster Burst reminds me of a Gen 1 Transformer. These designs aren't too great, have fun holding your breath for a 2.0 version of anything that isn't Double X.
Yup, he does!
Thank God Athrun was still an ace pilot, all of them actually.

Eh honestly X would be the one to get it before DX.

Hell X was in Perfect Mission despite it being final leads, and even aside from that aside from Extreme Vs most of the time X is used above DX to promote.

Sadly I comment on it from personal experience.

Ive yet to build the DX. Sorry Flow, but I think we have a few here who have.

From everything ive been told its even better then X which is easy, fun and great looking kit. My issue is I hate the DX's amG head design.

All good and I am looking at the reviews and picks right now. They are saying it is a good kit but I can already tell the shoulder cannons and reflecting panel are going to be a pain to build

One of my favorites. X is atypical for a Gundam show - Mecha design is overall its weakest element. Most of the designs look like rejects from other shows of the period, and I found myself really liking only a few of them: All of the lead's suits, particularly the original Gundam X (I wish I'd written down exactly why, but I like the white color scheme that fits with the moon motif and the design choices that makes it look like something that could be mass-produced but still strong and unique, like the assymetrical build and having a rifle/shield combo piece of equipment rather than two separate pieces of gear), and the Bertigo, this show's Quebley-type MS that has a super-cool boss pigeon theme going. Most people really like the X Divider (I agree it's cool) and the Virsago (for some reason).

The thing about X I see most people cite about liking it is its cast. I personally had been going on a Gundam spree when I watched it, and this is the only one from the era that really got me invested in its characters. The only ones from the main cast that I don't like are the Frost Brothers, who seem like obvious fujoshi bait and never really rise above it. Everyone else is great, and there are lots of characters moments that make them feel like real people. I was pretty used to crazy and/or unrelatable after binging on UC Gundam, and this was a nice repreive. The storytelling is pretty '90s, so YMMV. I also remember some early episodes kinda messing around not making much advancement, but I could let it fly.

The other thing I see people cite is that they like the fights. Spoiler, I suppose, but the main character is not a newtype. 'Newtypes' play a big role in the story, but thankfully newtype shenanigans aren't a driving force in combat for our heroes.

I also really like the music, which is something I almost never see anyone talk about. It's a softer, orchestral score compared to the more intense soundtracks of the shows that had preceeded it like Wing. Several pieces are beautifully composed, and I was surprised to learn that Yasuo Higuchi, the man behind it, has done almost nothing before and since then. It's a shame.

I considered that....but then it Xhoose Strike, Wing Gundam and Astray, which are the first leads so I don't think that its them choosing X over DX.

Its actually amazing they even choose X.

I think it was mostly for the merchandise potential. Don't forget that BF wasn't just for old fans.

I wrote a lengthy review of this kit on gundamplanet, but to sum it up, I really like it. The only things I don't like are that the aimsights for the twin satellite cannons don't neatly snap in to place and that the gold for the wrist and leg panels is too dull (I painted over it but during my initial build it felt adequate). I also would have liked a few more panel lines as some areas feel bare but I can let that pass. The important stuff for this kit works great. All the accessories work, the cannons look great when everything's deployed, and surprisingly, even with all the crap on its back, this thing can still stand up and hold grounded poses, even if you don't have the cannons out front (most people I imagine would want an action base for the iconic DX pose though). It also has a good set of decals.

Anavel Gato is the greatest non new type pilot. Kou looked up to him in awe.
I love that Nightmare of Solomon monologue, so good.

Oh thank god. I still need to see passed the first IBO episode though. I'm trying to get through Naruto...which is taking FUUUUUCCCKKKIING forever ugh...I swear I've watched what feels like 200 eps of that show...IBO is on my to do list at least, but times a rather rare commodity for me now. IBO is really good. I'd like a bit more fighting but it's still the best Gundam show in a very long time imo (I don't like Build Fighters, by the way). The first episode is a real hurdle - It throws everything at you at once, way more jargon and politics than you can reasonably be expected to absorb. It gets easier.

Edit: Before I incur the wrath of Shun, I didn't watch G-Reco, or AGE although I don't think anybody in this topic cares about AGE.
