I was thinking the same thing Expendable.

Two months sound excellent, good sir. It's a bet.Okay, so an avatar bet then. But an avatar of the winner's choosing. And whomever loses has to use it for a month or two months?
And that is total gross WW. Not opening weekends or days. I know DKR will win opening weekend over Hobbit. But Hobbit will have stronger legs.
I'll watch any movie that includes Taylor Swift.

wat, GRRM is an excellent writer.
THE HUNGER GAMES is the most exciting - thematically, technically, emotionally - American SF film since THE MATRIX.

Whoa. James is usually pretty critical as well.
My wife just started reading the book and she's devouring it. Looks like I should plan to be there opening night.
Awesome. I've been itching for a new event movie.
I avoided it for a while based on it being the new "teen" book that people that liked Twilight were into.. But they're actually really good. I recommend checking it out.
Did you miss this gem in ADWD friend, "The more she drank, the more she shat."
Damn, movie is surprisingly long
142 minutes runtime
I thought they were described as kind of likeAny word on how the movie is handling thetowards the end? Still worried about how that will play with general audiences, as it is laughable enough in book form.dogs with people faces
Might be the first book I buy to read on the new iPad!

I'm trying to remember if I was emotionally moved by the Matrix. If they did this right, it can't help but have emotional impact.RT @jamesrocchi:

Sounds like some BIG hyperbole. Is Sunshine considered a British Sci-fi film? It was made with Fox Searchlight. You're telling me this is a better Sci-fi than Sunshine. That is a big fucking call and not one I'm ready to believe.

He also considers Children of Men a British sci-fi film, so you can probably assume the same for Sunshine.Sounds like some BIG hyperbole. Is Sunshine considered a British Sci-fi film? If you look through his feed he goes through and defends his claim and mentions just about every other sci-fi film. And yes, Sunshine is not considered American AFAIK.
I'll take you up on that bet.Dark Knight Rises > Hobbit worldwide thanks to a monster domestic difference.
For the record, I also believe DKR will taking home the opening day and weekend records, with $100m and $205m, respectively.
And...off the top of my head:
AI
Minority Report
The Fountain
Children of Men
Inception
I'm gonna go with lol no
Wouldn't Children of Men be considered British?

Also, some violence was toned down to reach a 12a certificate in the UK, and about 7 seconds were completely removed as well

Not surprised by the reviews. The first book was the type of book that would make a great movie. Its the other two...
The hype for this movie is going stratospheric, and we're not even in the week leading to opening day when advertising kicks into high gear.
I'm thinking this might shatter even the optimistic expectations.

The second book is my favorite of the three and I think it will be the most loved of the movie trilogy.

I wouldn't be too surprised to see this come close to the Twilight sequels openings. It's got a rabid fanbase like those movies and the crossover appeal they lacked.
