Look at how enemies reacted and how the scene flowed. No way that was live gameplay man.

A ton of that was implemented in the first one, but they are very nice animations and a step up for sure. Oh course, they setup the best case scenario for the video.

What to me stands out is them putting evade moves in for TLOU2.

My issue here is the have bunch of concept artist working on this, why can’t one of them do beautiful cover art for this!!? In most Japanese games the lead artists always does the cover arts why can’t western developers do the same?

Joel looks amazing. Cant believe people thought The Halo Infinite guy looked next gen. Both character models look stunning but very current gen as far as cutscene models are concerned. Anyway, if games look this good now i cant even imagine how good next gen character models will look.

Nice, I'm definitely getting either edition with the statue. Due to the first game having a ton of Edition options, I didn't see the Joel and Ellie statue version when I placed my order all those years ago and I've regretted missing it ever since. Shame for this one it's just Ellie but still pretty awesome and the guitar is a nice touch.

It was pretty obvious from the Left Behind DLC that the relationship between Ellie and Riley was no mere friendship. Even the previous trailer made it very clear that Ellie and Dina were in a relationship. Honestly, fans of the game who still believed that Ellie was straight at this point are either homophobes in denial or really stupid. Possibly both.

Oh I know. I believe that the dlc is awesome. I love everything about it. I love how the reveal is such a tender way to show their love. I have no problems with Ellie being gay, but it's like she is now all about being gay.
The first one and the dlc show Ellie more like a survivor, a girl, someone who doesn't trust Joel, a very developed character. Now...it's just lesbian kisses.

Sure, maybe the finished product is more than that and now it's just marketing's fault.

First game: Ok, so in the dlc we are going to subtly expose the psyche of our main character, and how in this apocalyptic and desolated land, she finds solace, protection and a reason to feel alive in her best friend, Riley, who tragically dies. This is how we learn that our main character is in fact immune to the virus.

Second game: OH we full on gay now, bitches! Gay rampage coming thru!bam gay kiss! first scene, bam "how was all that tongue action, am i rite?"

I love the last of us. But come on, this is poor writing.

there are at least two pretty large open world/hub world like areas in the trailer. doesnt seem linear to me.

The animation on Joel's face tho, as someone mentioned, looks like he is having a stroke. First time i have a problem with ND animations.

The original won a truckload of GOTY awards and sold great over several years. At some point you have to accept that if you didn't think the game was really good, you're in a tiny minority and as such your opinion doesn't (and shouldn't) count for much.

Gotcha, opinions are only valid or "count" when they coalesce with the majority. Why even bother forming opinions at all? Lets just wait and see what the "majority" think and just default to that position.

I know. I played the DLC. It's not in the main game. Maybe some people didn't play the dlc. I felt that the dlc enriched the character.

Rewriting her as straight would be dumb at this point.

I never asked or even hinted that. I feel that the first game developed her character way better, and the dlc gave us even more info. Right now, all the trailers are just showing us that she is gay, her motivations are being gay, her hobby is being gay and she will embark on a revenge rampage because of the gayness in her life.
It's just poor writing. Or, worse yet, they made a complex and rich character, flat.
