One of my favorite games of all time, what a joy it was to play this game.
P5+P5R will end up selling more than the rest of Persona games combined, it brought Atlus to center stage and we are seeing the changes that came with such a successful game, one of them being P4G releasing on PC and SMT5 getting simultaneous worldwide release.

Can't wait to play it again when Atlus decides to bring Royal to PC.

I can't deny that TLOU 2 is far superior from a technical and performance standpoint, but for me, I had way more fun playing P5/P5R than I did TLOU 2.

Persona 5, and it's not even close. It was my first Persona game, and now I'll buy every game this series puts out in the future.

Last of Us 2 was great though. It had some FANTASTIC horror sections, and the gameplay was a huge improvement over the first (though still linear encounters)

I'm also not denying that ND do have talent but they also have big budget and big team, P-studio in other hand only has half the budget and man power of ND, and yet managed to make great games.

Takumi with his small team made one the most fun and most iconic games (Ace Attorney). Even big studio like R* managed to make good game with small budget with GTA China Town on DS.

To me thats impresses much more than having high tech in games.

If current ND can make a great game with same budget as Yoko Taro gets for his games then I will be impressed.

Persona 5 is a very good JRPG.
I played the original Last of Us and got bored after a couple of hours or so.
My understanding is that TLOU2 is more of the same with some woke stuff supposedly. Also the characters look ugly.
I enjoy playing Persona 5 on and off, hopefully will get to the end at some point.
I will never touch TLOU2 because I have zero interest in it.

Naughty Dog is my favorite studio and I adored TLOU2, but I still give it up to Persona 5 Royal. It was my biggest surprise and favorite game of this gen (so far, let's see about Cyberpunk).

I still listen to the soundtrack almost daily.

P5 is a great game but feels meh compared to 4. TLOU2 has some issues but generationally speaking it is leaps and bounds above P5 from a technical perspective.

Wow, tough choice.

I went TLOU because it's really my kind of game.

I haven't finished Persona yet but I like it a lot too.

Persona 5 fans- "We just want to have fun playing a game"

TLoU2 fans- "JOKER SHOULD GET CLUBBED LIKE JOEL REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"

edit: I rarely stand with weebs, but with Persona 5.

All Nintendo games are weeb games. Since they are Japanese. Also they have himes (princess you gaijin) Where is your god now? In Japan.

This is the most ridiculous comparison between games - ever.

It's like asking what's the better game: Street Fighter II or Super Mario World. Both too different to compare and both too great (especially for a first round).

Disappointing! :messenger_confused:

P5 easy for me. One of the best RPGS I've played in years against a sequel to a game I did not enjoy. I see why people enjoy TLOU2, but I know I would not and loved every long hour of P5. Maybe I should pony up for P5R and play it again, but the painful platinum of 5 has me worried I don't have the amount of hours to do it again.

Panther will always be my favorite Phantom Thief.

A series that is actually fun and improves game over game or more of the same but now with woke and more violence because we are MATURE. Yeah hard choice.

To me GOTG comes down to three games and three games only.
God of War
TLOU2
FF7:R

I feel that will make more sense when FFVII remake is completely done, but overall...no debate from me. 3 of the most solid titles this generation easily.

Don't want to give you too much of a push but they really did add a lot of amazing new stuff to P5R that changes the game impressively.

Also since you mention the pain of platinum, platinuming P5R is actually much easier than P5. You no longer need to defeat the twins or even max out all confidants, for example.
