It is not about the outcome. I said that. It is right in my post. Please read it carefully. I am also calling out both. The people that vote for TLOU2 because they hate anime/weebs without having played either, but also the people that vote for Persona 5 without having played either. There are people patheticly admitting to doing so in this very thread. I called those people out, because I think it is disrespectful towards .Pennywise .Pennywise who puts in many hours into organizing and formatting this competition.

I hate that I have to repeat that. Unless you two guys are trolling me then job well done.

Not literally, but yes, I think their vibes have many parallels. I know your brain might have trouble processing that, it's ok.

And I said P5 and TLOU were relatively close, do you know what relatively means?

It's wasn't a complete blowout like other polls for game of the generation.

Many people will have TLOU2 is GOTY. On this board it is pretty neck and neck with GOT in the other thread.
 
TLOU2 is similar in tone to the Joker movie. They are both dark and gritty kind of stories but one is loved by a certain set and the other is hated by that same set.

It has to do with the culture of hate regarding a certain few games on this message board. TLOU2 never stood a chance in this well spirited voting contest. People who frequent the TLOU2 threads know exactly what I am taking about.
Yes the same kind of discussions would've happened here regardless of the game. Like others have pointed out even if TLOU2 went against Superman 64 or Aliens Colonial Marines it would be a shitshow again.

BR was nowhere bleak and hopeless as TLOU2, even if we consider the flashbacks to "bring the audience some fresh air". Dystopian future vs post apocalyptic and we have very different settings and tone. Genuinely interested in the parallels that you believe existing between the two.

Ask anyone if they think 7 is relatively close to 10. Maybe I'm not the one that doesn't know what relatively means. Let me help you on this one:

i think this vote is less about the game and more an indictment about how gaf feels about the handful of TLOU2 "fans" and their obnoxious and dickriding behavior

Not just gaf, if the TLOU2 fans weren't so damn vocal and domineering, they might have won. But instead they assert their arrogance to everything they don't agree with, e.g. Uzaki getting decapitated by Abby. Well it looks like Uzaki-chan called for some backup in the form of Persona, with Joker decapitating Abby. So you know TLOU2 fans are getting a taste of their own salt right now! :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I finished one three times while I couldn't get past ten hours in the other one.

So yeah, my vote goes for Persona 5.

I think doing it without cyberpunk is actually good because it is a cross-gen game that many people will associate with the new generation of hardware.

Yes I feel people may be underestimating the popularity of P5 and just how far it can go off of fan's sincere enthusiasm for the game. I personally still have some complaints about it, but it was greatly enhanced by the changes made to Royal and critic scores and nerd praise reflect that.

Well, it definitely is a cross-gen game. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe people will think of it as a PS4/XBONE game for some reason. I suppose if the new consoles are delayed or nobody can afford them things could shake out that way.

It's gonna be another GTAV. People will be amazed that it can even on these old ass machines, talk about sorcery and whatnot, but say imagine what it would be like if it was a real next-gen game.

Hmm well GTAV was released in 2013 during the PS3/360 era and then came to PS4/XBONE in 2015. So I consider that a port of a PS3/360 game, not a cross-gen release because of the time difference.

I certainly agree that if there is more than a year between Cyberpunk's release on PS4 and PS5, then most people would think of it as a current-gen game because that's where everyone would originally experience it. But I don't believe that will happen.

You should see how some upset TLOU2 fans are that one made a drawing of Abby punching Uzaki's head off.

Yeah, Red Cross Japan using Uzaki to advertise their blood drive happened over a year ago. Some still have a major axe to grind with Uzaki, for some creepy reason...
 
For me, it's going to be Persona 5.

TLoU2 isn't a bad game by any means (except for the fuck up in the story), but Persona 5 being a better game and having a great OST.
 
A little surprised at the results with some making TLOU 2 GotG, but I'm happy that the Persona series is still crazy popular these days.
