Lmfao boys you need to bring everyone from era to vote if you want TLOU2 to win. No way that "game" can stand up to Persona 5 (not even counting Royal) in any circumstance.

Persona 5 had rich and colorful visuals, and a fun story and cast of characters to cheer for.

TLoU2 looks like a holocaust, with a dark and miserable story, and a cast of miserable and hateful characters.

For me this ain't a real choice.

How can you think that's bad thing, as a Blade Runner fan?

Not hatting on P5, though, it's just not for me. Also I fucking LOVE both Blade Runner films.

TLOU2 by fucking long margin as the other game looks like its designed for kids

TLOU2 fanboy is salty that people aren't agreeing with him. News at 11.

Y'all need some new material. Also, if you try to disparage a game because it "looks like its designed for kids", that says more about you than it does the game. Try not to project your juvenile view of the world onto others.

When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty, I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.

I found both disappointing and I think both suffer from slow pacing and bloat due to being too long and stretched out. Both would be a lot better IMO if they cut like a third of their length (it's just that in TLOU2 that translated to it being 10 hours too long....and Persona is more like 30 hours too long).

Overall though I'd go with Persona. It's 30 hours too long but it's still a really fun game with enjoyable characters, a great unique style and great combat. It also improved a lot of things I didn't like about Persona 4 (the dungeons in particular are much better).

TLOU2 wasn't bad, but to me it was really disappointing. Half of the appeal of the franchise is the story and I just didn't find it nearly as compelling as the one in the original (I also didn't find it particularly good even if you don't compare it to TLOU1), add to that some serious pacing issues and a lack of multiplayer and you have a game that IMO isn't nearly as good as the original.

Persona 5 easily. TLOU2 isn't anywhere near as good as the fanboys are making it out to be. Terrible pacing, horribly structured story, awfully written characters. Sure it's gorgeous, but just about everything else makes it a miserable experience. Persona at least achieves what a good game should always aim for - fun.

you are right, my post came off like the very thing i hate whilst simultaneously putting down something simply cause it doesn't interest me, duly noted lad.

Good poll.

Allows me to vote against the game I hate, and vote for the other game no matter what it is.

Both of which I have never played.

Yeah this is why these polls are fucking retarded lol.

BS tournament anyway couldn't you at least hang tight until after CP2077 comes out, that's still a PS4/XB1 game at heart even if it releases by the time PS5/XSX rolls around...

You seem biased towards anything with anime art style though (not that the games you seem to like are bad by any means).
I own both Persona 5 and TLOU2 and even enjoy the TLOU2 even tho I have some issues with it but I simply enjoyed Persona 5 much more. That game is 100+ long but not only I played the original game multiple times but I bought and play Royal version as well.

Also you see people say "weeb shit", couldn't you say they are biased against games with anime artstyle?

Is there a way to actually vote in these threads? I still can't find that feature and it's not explained anywhere, I also can't see results.

Whilst I have some issues with the direction of the story/characters in TLoU 2, it is still an exceptional game, IMO, and handily takes this round as far as I'm concerned.

There's no denying that TLOU2 is a technical marvel and a highly polished game; it also has great voice acting and you could see that there was a lot of passion put into it.

However, I don't think the game excels at anything else other than that, characters are bland, gameplay is good, but it needs a good narrative to bind everything together; some creative choices are also very questionable, don't even need to mention them.

Persona 5 (and specially Royal) sets the bar high in almost every aspect: soundtrack, gameplay, narrative, characters, art design, level design. While there are flaws in it (some of them fixed in Royal), the game is a huge package with lots of content and, most importantly, fun.

P5R and GoW are the top tier of PS4 exclusives, IMO.

TLOU2 is great, but it didn't even reach the greatness of the first one, let alone the top tier of this gen.

I just cannot understand how some people in this thread can say that TLOU2 is a mediocre and poorly written game. That's like saying RDR2 is a bad open world game or that MGSV sucks as a stealth game - it's just not true.

That aside, I just voted for Persona 5 because it was the nicest surprise I got this gen, as I didn't expected it to be my kind of game when I started playing it on PS Now earlier this year.

Persona 5, great game, amazing soundtrack.

TLOU 2 was better than I first thought but I don't think I will ever replay it.

I dont get Persona at all, played 15 hours and it was perhaps the worst "game" I have ever played. Maybe it is because I was never into anime, but wow was it boring.

I'm sure a lot of people who voted against TLoU2 did so as a fuck you to Druckman and ND in general, more than anything. I couldn't care less for the politics, I just enjoyed it for it's great visuals, great performances, post apocalyptic setting, extreme violence. It had me on the edge of my seat more times than not, I get that the gameplay wasn't revolutionary but I enjoyed it quite a bit. P5 just isn't anywhere near up my alley, I know it's a good game from all the love it gets. I just can't.

Generic anime writing, terrible level design, annoying limited day time activities mechanic.

Yes I very much never liked the Persona series. xD

I loved both games, can't decide who is better.
If I have to choose, I'd vote for P5 bc I'm sure that this tournament will have a lot of Sony first party games and to be honest TLoU2 isn't even my favourite Sony game of the gen.
