I don't understand what you mean exactly by this post? TLOU2 should win because why?.....because you liked that game more? But people who voted for P5 because they simply liked P5 more, its that simple.


There is no right or wrong answer here, it just mostly based on opinion and taste.

With all due respect my noble friend, I would recommend not engage with most of those arguments. In short terms, is like using a two edge sword.

I mean, they say people are voting on Persona 5 not because they like Persona 5, but because they hate TLOU2 so much that people are voting on the other game with IMO would be a valid point IF:
- Persona 5 was not a good game (not true)
- Calling Persona 5 a weebo game? (fire vs fire)

Looking back over your comments on this thread, you seem to be attacking anyone who has a different opinion. Perhaps you should reflect on your last statement and see if you actually agree with it.

When you LOOK at what you posted, it does indeed seem to be targeted at children. Neverland seems to be a reference to children's literature and the cover seems to only feature children. There are no weapons or suggestion of adult content or themes.

I'm sure you agree that you can't judge a book by its cover, a show by a single image, so maybe you could look past a gif of dinosaur shit and realise that I was expressing my personal view as well. Like you said it's opinion and taste.

I'm not trying to change votes or suggest that anyone is wrong or justify anything. I PERSONALLY think the results are shit.

It's crazy to see tlou2 loose. It's an amazing game
Maybe that's because I've never understood the persona hype and tlou2 requires You to play and finish for Yourself to overcome the false leaks negative hype

I don't think Blade Runner 2049 and TLoU2 are worth comparing. They're pretty different types of stories and settings.

"dark and miserable story, and a cast of miserable and hateful characters."

That describes Blade Runner pretty well, in my opinion. That's why I love those movies.

Sure they're totally different genres but they have very similar vibes.

Honestly happy to see TLoU2 get eliminated as early as possible. We're nipping the bud here, and destroying the controversial and drama inducing game right out of the gate.

This vote is not Persona 5 against TLOU2. It is a political battleground regarding ideologies at this point on Neogaf.
It would be very interesting to see the amount of people that voted out of spite against TLOU2 even though they never touched Persona 5.

My comment doesn't want to take anything away from Persona 5. It is an amazing game, but in this case it was used in a proxy war to keep the cycle of hate going.

Exactly, so many people voting out of spite against Weebs and anime here even though they never touched TLOU2, but it is what it is, the best game will win in the end.

Yes well not to me, at least not on the same level displayed in TLoU2. Also big difference being Agent K was likeable and I wanted to see him succeed, whereas by the end of TLoU2 I was just watching two angry women beat the shit outta each other, and I didn't care who won.

I walked out of BR2049 emotionally satisfied and pondered the value of artificial life and what it means to be human.

When TLoU2 ended I was like *shrug* "Ok...I'm gonna go play Ion Fury."

To be honest I'm surprised TLOU 2 got so many votes that it almost beat Persona 5.
Considering the general hate towards TLOU 2, it looks like a lot of people voted against Persona 5 just to spit on the weeb game.
If you think about it, both games are hated, just from different crowds.

Whatever it is. Persona 5 is going to win and the people that vote against something instead for something they like, whether it is because they hate weebs or are afraid of strong women, have to face the worst challenge out of all of us. Living with themselves full of hatred. :messenger_heart:

Huh? Persona 5 was incredibly well received both by reviewers and by players. TLoU2 wasn't.

And if you think it is the PS audience or gamers in general not liking women, it doesn't explain how so many other games starring women characters are received incredibly well. Not to mention that TLoU2 was this generations most anticipated game, and everyone knew beforehand it was starring a female character.

My post isn't directed at people that love Persona 5. I love Persona 5. My post has nothing to do with Persona 5.
 
Gamers love cartoonish anime stuff while I don't like it at all. What happened to darker anime like Akira or Ghost in the Shell. I watched a few playthroughs of Persona 5 and it reminds me of a saturday morning cartoon. Also being dark and depressing does not make something bad. In fact I wish music wasn't do happy and sugary these days.

Just admit that if any game was put against it and LoU2 lose, people would act the same way. Its not a problem with P5 , a fucking great game well spoken by most(fans and reviwers alike). The problem is that people don't want LoU2 to lose. Put any game against LoU2, I could be my money people would react the same way.

Also might also be worth explaining to people that voting one doesn't necessarily means hating the other. This hate is all in your heads.

It is so frustrating that you and Musky_cheese don't get the essence of what I am trying to say. I am not sure whether it is if you guys don't want to or if you haven't actually read what I said.
At no point I tried to discredit Persona 5 or any of the people that genuinely like this game. I think it is a fantastic game and it is amazing that so many people found a game they love. Like I did with TLOU2. We share a passion in videogames and for me it doesn't matter which one you prefer.
Also at no point I was talking about the result. If anything I am surprised TLOU2 even got to over 30% given what kind of people are active on Neogaf.

There is no point for you to get riled up over this, because I was talking about the people that haven't played either and thought they could send a message by voting against something instead of for.

You could Persona 5 against anything other than Bloodborne and it will win. A certain section of gamers love that game. Then again you could put TLOU2 against Superman 64 and some would vote for the latter. No way a gritty and dark game which is right up my alley will beat JRPG anime heaven on a game forum.

But how do you know that is happening in enough volume to effect the outcome. I could see your point if TLoU2 was up against Duke Nukem Forever, Paw Patrol, or a bottle of mustard.

But it's up against a universally well received game

First one was gritty, dark and GOTY in several sites. Second one was a poorly written story that even one of the most graphically impressive games of the generation couldn't save.

No, you are wrong. Your post didn't come in any point as respecting P5 sucess. You just use it as a manner to say that the end results here are due to people hating LoU2. You only use your likeness for P5 to deflect the usual "P5 hater".

P5 votes are result of a well and critically acclaimed made game and your post make it as to bettitle the game from its own merits. As if the results are mere a product of hate for LoU2 , not praise for the P5.
