10 seconds in Photoshop. Is this any better?
I love that it never feels like a escort mission. ND embued Ellie with such good animations and AI scripting that she always feels like a partner. Most games where you're saddled with an AI, they mostly just get in the wayWas wondering why she didn't even try to hide (like always) as the Hunter is just around the corner
I was like: "Ellie!? What the fuck are you doing?!"
*Then she lunges at him to the stairwell*
Then I followed up with a steel pipe.
Soo good.
I remarked earlier that I think it's the greatest step forward since F.E.A.R. from right before this console generation began.Wait, so we all agree that this game has the greatest enemy AI ever, right?

Not just the sense of weight, but the sound effects and reactions. Gunplay is terrifyingly realistic and harsh. Everything sounds like it has massive impact. And you really feel every shot us coming from a cold hardened killing tool as oppose to some pea shooter. It's the Killzone gunplay of third person shooters, only with better sound design and level design aiding the shoot outs. Oh and no recharging health which is amazing.
Plus you can't just aim and shoot, you have to sync your aim with your movement sway, it's all about patience and precision, and I love that. There's more skill to getting a headshot in LoU than other shooters. You have recoil and sway and limited auto aim to content with, and that adds great realism and tension.
How many times can you possibly reuse the shiv? I have three uses currently.
But has anyone had the AI run and hide like in the E3 demo? Is that still possible?
I have never used it. I don't even recall the game acknowledging it's existence at the beginning. If it weren't for the internet I probably would have never knew it was even a thing.

But Ellie? She interacts with the environment, makes relevant small talk, looks around when you stop to search. Seems so real
Like at one point in the (Late Fall), we entered an area. I went one way and she opens a door and goes another. I'm scavenging and she's looking around the other areas, making comments. I never felt annoyed with her around. ND did a superb job with both her character and the companion AIUniversity
Yeah the gunplay is fantastic, love the feel of it. Also getting shot while rushing or when you're aiming actually feels painful, the way you stagger backwards. Great stuff.
True.
Also, anyone who didn't (somewhat of a tiny spoiler 60% through the game)is a horrible human being.high five Ellie
That feels like it would be yeah, thanks.I think 3 is the max.
Yup, I've had an enemy run away when I took one of his partners hostage.

Ashley Johnson seems to be ill prepared for all the questions that came her way, was it just a bad day or is she always like this in other interviews?Did you guys check out this interview with Naughty Dog people & the VA's..

I had to plug in headphones for just this reason.I have a soundbar setup with a big sub. Is there any way to make the dialogue when in control of your character not up front and blaring? In cut scenes it's perfectly balanced, but when in game it's horrendously out of place. A character can be far left, far right, or even behind me and it just has the worst sound placement ever.

Almost completely impossible to hear the dialogue in-game on my 5.1 speakers. And I'll be damned if I'm going to ruin this game with subtitles, of course.
Pretty sure you do have to kill them all to proceed. If you watch their patterns for a minute it should be pretty easy. My solution: From where you start, around the corner should be an armored dude, choke him out and then turn around and look back up the hallway until you see a second runner pass through that hallway from left to right. Run up there once he's past and turn left into the room he came from, get behind the wall in the middle and wait. He makes a full circuit around the floor, and when he comes back into that room you can choke him out. Then the other two runners should be easy to deal with, and for the clicker you can either crouch walk slowly right up to him and grab/shiv, or throw a brick and then melee him with the 2x4 for the instant kill
For all the complaints of its flaws, I can't think of a game that does it better. Certainly make's Dishonored's (which I also love) seem laughable.Wait, so we all agree that this game has the greatest enemy AI ever, right?
Absolutely. I actually had a guy go full-on "oh fuck everyone else has been picked off by Batman, time to cower shaking behind a bed" around the apartment building part shown in one of the demos. Honestly, I only went and found/killed him because I was still employing listen mode at that point in the game. If I had turned it off already he'd probably have saved his life by hiding.I love when you hear the AI say they're going to spread out and you go that way and I'll search over here. They work together so well

So apparently the game sold 1.3m first week
Oh ya, it was absolutely incredible in combat. But when two people are trying to talk to each other? Forget about it.Had the same issue when I wanted to play the game with the misses in the room. 5.1 was okay during gunfights but the dialogue was too quiet.

The source is... questionable, but even if it's in that ball park it's a fantastic launch
Completed the game today, didn't really like the ending, felt they should have cut out that last cutscene, but other than that the game was flawless
Never shouted so much at singleplayer in my life

You keep all upgrades, but you don't get stuff till you would last time. What does new game + do? Will it just start me back at the beginning but with all my previous weapons/skills?
Within hours of release last Friday, yes.Got this in the mail FINALLY!
Quick Q: has the autosave glitch been patched/solved already?
One kinda exploitive thing in normal mode I realized pretty early on is that you can easily tank damage from bullets and rush in and melee enemies with minimal risk, never really feared enemies with pistols because of this because they took their time to line up shots, I rarely get hit more than once before closing the distance. That and rags and alcohol were plentiful in normal mode. Anyone know what the difference is between normal and hard? Do enemies just do more damage or are supplies scarcer as well? Any AI differences?
Just saw Ellie playing darts, and man, I wish Bioshock Infinite was like this game. The pacing, narrative, exploration.

Had I not played through the game and witnessed what a great job she did with Ellie's voice acting, I almost would have mistaken her performance in this interview for a lack of passion for the project.
I played on hard and it was pretty difficult to just bum rush a guy if he was under cover. You would get hit quite a few times and there were a few times I didn't have enough supplies for first aid. Supplies are definitely more scarce on hard. (end game spoilers)good luck rushing the dudes in the hospital with assault rifles on Hard. You die almost instantly.
