$60 is just crazy for a 1 year late port. last gen we got 3 games on disc for half the price now with Tomb Raider and this game we get full price for one game.

Sony and other publishers really need to lower the price for late ports.
But when we got 3 games on one disc they were usually 5-10 year old games, comparing the two isn't really the same.

And everybody keeps seeming to ignore that this version will come with all the DLC, which is supposed to be worth £20+ in of itself.

Can't wait for the first screens. I played and loved TLoU on my PS3 back in June. After one playthrough swore to never touch it again until at least a year passed so a replay in Survivor can feel fresh. I only picked it up again in Febraury for Left Behind and that was it. I'm glad I didn't play TLoU that much 'cause I'm so double dipping this on PS4.

My only ONLY real request is that TLoU Remastered has all the difficulties unlocked from the get go so I don't have to beat it again just to be able to play on Survivor.

Please Naughty Dog! All difficulties unlocked, please!

That's not always the case though.

Personally, I have no problem with it being full price, but the MGS HD Collection came with Peace Walker, a game that was only about eighteen months old.

Believable. However, it seems like a placeholder to "Summer".

June would be the perfect time. Pump it up at E3, and release it a week later. Or release it a week before E3 and pump it up on stage talking about " millions sold".

I'm pretty sure I read they will be releasing more info 'over the coming weeks' so June/July seems much more likely IMHO

Weren't Fallout 3 GotY Edition, Uncharted 3 GotY Edition, Borderlands 2 GotY Edition all full price a year after with the DLC. What makes this case different to the previous examples besides coming on a different platform with better graphics.

To people that are upset about this remake being full price, or even existing. Don't fucking buy it, or wait for a sale. I don't understand how people get so mad about things like this, Sony and ND are running a business. They are going to make/price things based on what they think people will pay. If you don't like it, wait or ignore it.

They chose one of the most challenging parts visually to debut realtime footage. Looks great apart from the one standout shimmering building.

It's like I posted on the other page. There are several different audiences that will snag this up.

1. PS3 -> PS4 converts who didn't buy it the first go around.
2. 360 converts who never played it.
3. Die hard fans who will buy this in every fashion.

It's not even confirmed 60 bucks!

Eh I guess, but it was a port of a portable game and it wasn't exactly the norm for HD collections, hence why I said 'usually'.

I want to be able to upload my PS3 save and download it to PS4 so I can unlock the hardest difficulty from the off. Either that or just let me choose the new harder setting from the beginning.

PS3 game is still $60, so there is no way that PS4 version would be cheaper. Honestly people have no idea what they talk about sometimes.

Why would they choose one of the games biggest "surprises" and one of the most surreal moments I've had in a game in a long time and spoil it in a trailer? Did they think this game was just for double dippers? I feel bad for anyone who hasn't played it yet watching this.

I haven't played it and would've had no idea that was supposed to be some sort of spoiler if not for your post.

Is it still one of the most surreal moments in a game if somebody with no expectations or knowledge of the product sees this? I'm finding it hard to think so. I feel like fans making a big deal about the 'surprise' being ruined in a trailer are more likely to ruin that surprise than the trailer itself. You probably should have spoiler tagged that.

Will not buy, too soon for me. I enjoyed the original very much. Targeting higher resolutions and frame rates - but the same general experience? If I want that, I'll just play the PS3 version again.

I have my fingered crossed for a 4k patch! I have a 4k tv. The upscaling is ok, i guess. It just makes 1080p look more clear.

PS4 doesn't support HDMI 2.0 so it'll be limited to 24fps and 4k is 4 times 1080p so it's not happening anyway. 4k content won't be attainable for a very long time, especially in games.

But that'd make it extra cinematic! That's what everyone wants right?

PS3 didn't "support" HDMI 1.4 yet it has the bandwidth to support 1080p24 and 720p60 stereo3D framepacking. Unless there's been a recent development, I don't think its known what PS4 will support at 4K. It should be at least 4K30.

So the new version on PS4 is all about catching those 360->PS4 movers who never played TLOU on PS3? ND laughs at the puny amounts coming from "big fan" double dippers who think they are the center of everything, and want to focus on more important markets (puny amounts that they still expect to get every penny of by denying discounts to PSN buyers) ...

Sorry, but your perspective is very naive. Double dipping is serious business and marketing to encourage it is understandable from the point of view of video game company executives who want to exploit fans and make as much money as possible.

I never implied that double dipping itself wasn't a serious business, just that for this case specifically it likely wasn't a primary focus - whether they felt the need to or not is on them. This is what I meant by entitled, suddenly when the double dippers aren't necessarily factored into the equation (read: aren't the ones who this game is being marketed to) it's anti-consumerism full stop. The game being 40 bucks with the additional 20 being on the DLC + time spent on the technical upgrades is without a doubt, an exploitative measure for those who never did get into TLOU. Surely.

If the fact that they didn't offer enough incentive for double dippers like yourself to buy the remaster upsets you, or rather the fact that they didn't market the game for double dippers like yourself upsets you, then as I said earlier - make a stand and simply don't support it.

The surprising thing is not that video game companies are driven by greed, but how some of their fans go to absurd lengths to defend their exploitative practices.
See, this is what I hate the most about these discussions of price. It doesn't matter if what we're defending is of merit to our own beliefs and our own opinions, it has to be because we're corporate shills. It has to be because we've exchanged our souls to our corporate overlords for more games. It's never about how we can judge for ourselves, as human beings with no strings attached, the value a content has.

It's not a spoiler. Not even close to it.
I think it is, that was my favourite scene in the entire game.

(Although me drawing more attention to it in this way is also a spoiler, so I'll say no more)

For everyone else who hasn't played the game yet, I'd say don't watch the trailer.

It's got context for you though. Without context it's far from a spoiler.

The giraffe scene is only a spoiler in the context of the game. You have to play through everything up to that point to understand why.

Watching the scene outside the context of the game is not a spoiler.

Is it bad that the only deal breaker for me would be if they put to many fucking game of the year stickers on the cover? Pardon my language but I hate when they ruin stuff by over emphasizing how "good" a game is on the cover.

That being said I hope there's a collectors edition full of shit I don't really need. Take my money!!

Sure it is a spoiler. It is the one scene in the game that has this excitement "come here watch this very special thing" and players ask themselves what important thing they might see. Now they just think, now comes the scene from the trailer...great...

ask yourself if you would rather have seen the scene before you played the game or experienced it for the first time while playing.

Of course I would rather see it in the game for the first time. But it's not the end of the world as some in this thread are suggesting.

There are far worse moments in this game to spoil.

This will break the game (which already easy on all difficulties).
I think a lot more work goes into those, although you are right, those remasters are like FFXHD, the HD collections are straight ports.
