Does '"It can't be for nothing" ring a bell? Or "you can't deny the view"

Last I remember before the
hospital is coming out of the sewers (If I'm remembering that right), then getting there and you know the rest
. I looked it up and it takes place after that, I can't believe I missed it!

People saying the game shouldn't be 60fps? I am confused.

It's almost the same as watching a movie at 48fps...shit just looks weird and the majority of people are not used to it.

I prefer most games to be at 60fps but TLoU is fine at 30...hopefully they will give people the option of locking the framerate to 30 or 60.

my cake, fuck off
It can look weird. Like sped up.

I'm going to wait until I can actually play the game on the PS4 to see how it looks. That trailer is so compressed and stuff.

Ahh, I see.

I hope GAF will strip The Last of Us of it's GOTY title.

And when the Journey PS4 port is announced, that that too will lose the GOTY title for its respective year.

It's a disgusting practice and anyone that is buying this game again is a horrible human being, even though 60 fps is the best thing that has ever happened to video games OMG OMG OMG.
You are no longer flaccid ! And look at you fishing like a Pro Bass

It takes time for a proper port. They can't just emulate it on the PS4. It must be completely re-coded to function on the PS4's inherently different architecture. In addition, like so many people love to worry about, the team size for this project most likely isn't very large, with a modest group of staff at best. Remember also, they are upping the quality of textures, character models and level geometry, lighting, and shadows, updated gameplay and multiplayer, and net code, which likely introduce a plethora of new technical issues, bugs, optimization, and tweaks that are required as a result. Did I mention this is happening at the same time they are learning how to port exotic programming to an entirely new console?

So no, they are not just "upping the resolution" and slapping in some AA, because they can't. It isn't that easy.

Link? I'm not doubting you, I've just heard that the list of improvements includes lighting, character models, resolution and frame rate, with no mention of textures.

They're not going to spell everything out for you. Maybe not every single texture will get get an upgrade but we've already seen evidence of textures being reworked in the trailer.

Look at the wall on the bottom compared to the first, particularly around Ellie.

From some of these posts, I am expecting a "Naughty Dog, please add a 1080/30 option to PS4 TLoU" thread just like with the Driveclub and MK8 ones.

Lost all credibility.
It would be so incredible if they got this to run at 60fps. I'm already impressed they're going the extra mile and improving the models and lighting because often they just increase the resolution and AA and call it a day with the re-releases.

Dunno if it was posted but, here´s a trailer of the game rendered at 60fps to see how it could look remastered.

How do I open this on an iPad?

i'm getting depressed seeing all the people who say games shouldn't run at 60fps or above. this is what happens when you're exposed to inferior products for so long, you get used to them.

Well its more of would you rather have 60fps or better image quality, lighting, textures, etc. For a game like TLOU many people are willing to give up 60fps for the latter which i personally can understand. Its not just a blatant "no 60fps!" as you put it.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
This should sell for $40 retail.

I was just at Target and they had the PS3 version priced at $59.99. A lot of places sell it for $40, but it still doesn't come with any of the DLC. And it's PS3.

No, there are actually people saying that 60fps looks worse than 30fps, which is insane.

Hmm. I hope it's more of a Director's Cut than a remastering. I would love then to add things they couldn't add before due to processing power or time constraint.

Female hunters would be nice too? Lets see.

Actually I should probably start not reading this thread. I haven't actually played the game yet since I assumed it would come to the PS4 eventually.

I'm well used to 60FPS, and in fact I can't stand when certain games/genres are not 60, but I still think this game (especially its cutscenes) will look kind of dumb at 60FPS. I've seen that interpolated trailer linked above, and to me that looked incredibly similar to actual UC3 60FPS footage - that is to say, it looked weird and bad. In UC3 footage running at 60FPS, it became pretty obvious how there's all these little animation flaws and floatiness, and I have no reason to think it will be any different here. On top of that, they will have to tone down that motion blur the game originally had if it will run at 60, and I really liked how the blur looked.

I know it's a far reach but I wish they would have taken the time to add things to the game a little more gruesome just little addition's. Since they have said there was some things they couldn't do cause of memory constrain.

It's not for everything. I watched a movie on a standard 60hz TV and then watched it on a 120hz or so TV and it was a jarring difference. 120hz made it feel like you were watching real life, and I felt uncomfortable. lol.

This is a prime example of marketing BS doing its damage. Both of those displays are 60hz displays. The 120hz TV is just interpolating flames. That video file was probably mastered at 24/30 fps anyway.

That couldn't any more different than framerates in videogames.

Well, the reason you make a remaster is to change things. You then sell it by explaining to people what's different from the version they already paid for, especially if you're asking for full price again. So yeah, they should spell everything out, because that's what marketing entails. Try not sounding so salty next time someone asks a simple question.

It shouldn't be too hard to have the Re-mastered version of the game running in Native 1080p w/60 FPS. We're talking about a system that has:

8 GB's of unified GDDR5 RAM, & a 1.84 TFLOP GPU on PS4,

Vs.

The Cell Processor, a 192 GFLOP GPU, & a paltry 512 MB's of shared RAM on the PS3.

Especially when PS4's more developer friendly than the PS3 is due to the CPU being a x86 architecture that's from PC.

Fuck, I just watched the trailer with the remastered clip.

... Glorious.

Even with the remaster, I didn't think they'd be able to come so close to how the in-game cinematics looked. Now I'm thinking they could pull it off.

Maybe not the lighting, but the textures and character models. Turn around so I can get a good look at you two! What a tease.

Quick question, and I apologize if this has already been answered: will my PS3 saves carry over?

Doubt it. Even games like Cod Ghosts which you can upgrade to PS4/X1 versions only let you carry over your online progress not your saves.

Another question would be does your online stats carry over?

I really wish YouTube supported 60fps, it'd give 60fps games a much better opportunity to shine since that's where many people go to see gameplay footage.
