Of course I would rather see it in the game for the first time. But it's not the end of the world as some in this thread are suggesting.
There are far worse moments in this game to spoil.
Nobody said it was the end of the world. Exaggerating to make it seem like people are being irrational is pretty dishonest. Unless your intent is to covertly deflate its importance so that the discussion doesn't inadvertently destroy its meaning. In that case, I guess you're being clever? Maybe?
There's a legitimate issue here, though. By pointing out how important this scene is in the context of the game, players who have yet to play have their expectations lifted. Its damaging to their experience if we continue to heap praise and importance on this scene knowing that their perception will be altered by those comments. Very few people entered the game knowing a scene with giraffes will become the most surreal and memorable point of the game for them. I have a feeling the experience would be different if you're TOLD that this scene is supposed to illicit those same reactions. I imagine they would then spend the entire game waiting for it to happen that they completely miss the natural build up. If that isn't the definition of a legit spoiler then I'm a bearded gnome.
