Of course I would rather see it in the game for the first time. But it's not the end of the world as some in this thread are suggesting.

There are far worse moments in this game to spoil.

Nobody said it was the end of the world. Exaggerating to make it seem like people are being irrational is pretty dishonest. Unless your intent is to covertly deflate its importance so that the discussion doesn't inadvertently destroy its meaning. In that case, I guess you're being clever? Maybe?

There's a legitimate issue here, though. By pointing out how important this scene is in the context of the game, players who have yet to play have their expectations lifted. Its damaging to their experience if we continue to heap praise and importance on this scene knowing that their perception will be altered by those comments. Very few people entered the game knowing a scene with giraffes will become the most surreal and memorable point of the game for them. I have a feeling the experience would be different if you're TOLD that this scene is supposed to illicit those same reactions. I imagine they would then spend the entire game waiting for it to happen that they completely miss the natural build up. If that isn't the definition of a legit spoiler then I'm a bearded gnome.

Ugh.. So I didn't watch the trailer due to potential spoilers and yet people here actually discusses what's in the trailer, further promoting exactly what was supposed to be spoiler-ish making it impossible to ignore.

Good job guys :)

Pre-order Bonuses
Increased Crafting Speed for use in the Single Player Campaign
Increased Healing Speed for use in the Single Player Campaign
9mm Reload Speed Increase Upgrade for use in the Single Player Campaign
Rifle Clip Capacity Increase Upgrade for use in the Single Player Campaign
This will break the game (which already easy on all difficulties).

I'm guessing you've never played it? These are just upgrades in the game. You can unlock them early with a code...Just like the initial release.

female hunters' absence was explained through the narrative though, would be odd seeing them in there.
Wouldn't be too odd. And wasn't the explanation in some readable codec anyways? They could go change two words or something.

Also doesn't explain why there can't be female militia, or female villagers in the third act.

I am okay with this.

I tried playing a couple of weeks ago... I literally got molested by a level 100+ and 200+ team(I believe that was the number ranges next to their names).

They both tea bagged me in asynchronous tandem. I silently quit after that picture of joy.

Maybe with this version, I can try to actually keep up with how the hell to play.

The only people who feel spoiled are the people who know the context already. If they would shut up it's not a problem for people who don't

That's not always the case though.

Personally, I have no problem with it being full price, but the MGS HD Collection came with Peace Walker, a game that was only about eighteen months old.

18 months is end of life for most games, not surprising, TLOU on ps3 will have a much longer tail than peace walker. I get it though, however TLOU is still 60 bucks, even if it drops to 30 or 40 on ps3 and you figure in the minimum of 10 bucks for left behind, it really isn't a bad deal at 60. If they deliver a much upgraded version I see no reason to complain, if you've already bought the game, sell it to recoup the cost a bit, just my two cents.

It would have been far more amazing if they just had a collection of their PS3 library in one package, Uncharted 1-3 +TLOU, that would have been perfect.

5 bucks says you could stamp Corrine Yu's name on the front and her small legion of Internet worshippers would buy it if they thought she helped rework the code. Lol

So if they started working on this after getting it released on PS3 how come its taking so long?

Surely it must not be that hard to port it over and just up the resolution and AA.

You have to remember that the PS3 and PS4 architectures are different enough to be somewhat complex. Having a game that took advantage of a unique Cell processor and then just trying to dump that on a X86 would probably take a bit of work.

That being said I hope there's a collectors edition full of shit I don't really need. Take my money!!

I paid 80€ for the Joel edition, and depending on content (Left Behind soundtrack would be nice) I might buy another special edition of this. It's my all-time favorite game along with Silent Hill 2, and I've bought that game twice as well, along with its soundtrack.

Can't wait to start the second playthrough, which I postponed after the rumors about the PS4 version started to surface.

I KNEW IT!!! I FRIGGIN KNEW IT!!!!

I didn't buy the PS3 version because I just had a feeling that they were going to port this to the next gen console after seeing what happened with tomb raider.

I KNEW IT!!! Glad I betted on this happeneing, and it did.

I didnt buy dark souls either because I'm hoping Dark Souls goes next gen too.

Yea, now I get to play this on the PS4, a brand new game i never playd I know nothing about. I advoided any content about this game like the plague. AAWWWW YISS!!!

Sensing a lot of resentment in here. It's obvious people want it on their next-gen consoles, just not at the price Sony's asking for. And to you I say: wait it out like you would any other new releases.

I'll probably end up caving myself, because I aims to double plat this sumbitch.

What makes you think it's not hard?

Anything can be easy when you haven't done it before.

Less snarky answer: We have no clue how many people have been working on it. They've also been creating the DLC for the game. Might not be a question of whether it is hard or not, and more of how much manpower was put on it.

female hunters' absence was explained through the narrative though, would be odd seeing them in there.

Weren't David's hunters just talking about the women in their specific group in the cutscene? Doens't mean that female hunters can't be inserted into other areas of the game; or even in that group, if David's hunters were referring specifically to civilian women constrasted with hunter women etc. I'm hoping we get female hunters for sure.

A good friend of mine just sent me this on FB.
"Also, Last of Us remastered....don't like it. I understand the motive, and with all that's been going on, it will probably make some profit to tide over what ever is happening at the studio. Don't mind it, just don't think it is necessary. Also, they can't make it look full next-gen, only clean up the base. and 60 FPS--don't like it. Saw the little trailer they released, and that brief footage is too clean and artificial looking. There's not a problem with 60 FPS, but people shouldn't think it's a gold standard by any means. I'm afraid it may take away from grit of the images--but we'll see.

I'm not the only one a little anxious about how 60FPS is going to look it seems when it comes to visual tone.

But like I said, I have to see it in motion before I make up my mind either way.

60fps in that scene looks weird.

60fps is good, but its good in some games, and not so good in others.

I don't think it works very well for the last of us. I would rather they spend that power on something else.

No one has seen The Last of Us in 60fps yet.

A month after release and it will be $30. People are really killing me with the "omg $60 lawll" . This isn't for people who own TLOU already , it's for new comers to ps4 who haven't played. It's also a great deal. I've already spent around $90 on dlc plus the game . I my self wouldn't buy it unless it's cross save or it's price drops to $30 (which it will guaranteed )

I smell a new ps4 game on ps plus

is doubling the frame rate for this remaster the easy way out? or easy way "in"

Surely it must not be that hard to port it over and just up the resolution and AA.

It takes time for a proper port. They can't just emulate it on the PS4. It must be completely re-coded to function on the PS4's inherently different architecture. In addition, like so many people love to worry about, the team size for this project most likely isn't very large, with a modest group of staff at best. Remember also, they are upping the quality of textures, character models and level geometry, lighting, and shadows, updated gameplay and multiplayer, and net code, which likely introduce a plethora of new technical issues, bugs, optimization, and tweaks that are required as a result. Did I mention this is happening at the same time they are learning how to port exotic programming to an entirely new console?

So no, they are not just "upping the resolution" and slapping in some AA, because they can't. It isn't that easy.
