More like an hour after release knowing this place. Someone will say it's the worst game they've ever played.

Yeah. 7.5 out of 10 is a good score.
There score stands out like a shit stain on the mona lisa.
OP, you forgot to link to Polygon.
Saw this on your Twitter, christ. Not linking to the Polygon review is really one of the pettiest things I've ever seen on this forum, and that's saying a lot.
So gamespot and polygon overly harsh? Click-hunting? Legitimate?
I just love Naughty God so much right now currently the best developer around at the moment. Can I get an amen!?

To be fair, it's VERY RARELY thrown around as much as we're seeing here. When this many super high scores show up I think it's safe to say that the game in question will be pretty good at the very minimum.
if you want the review you can easily go to there site and read it there.

Tell that to all the ivy leagues that rejected me.Yeah. 7.5 out of 10 is a good score.
Maybe he just sucks at his job then. My bad!
Seems like you are trying to change the system but it isn't changing with you. It would be nice if everyone used the whole scale but that definitely isn't the case at Gamespot. Personally when I go to a site, a score means nothing on its own. I evaluate it relative to scores from other games, especially those I've played. And when I do that I expect a level of consistency so I know what to expect. Seems like you are reviewing on a totally different scale to everybody else at Gamespot, and that is where people are raising their eyebrows with your reviewsGigglepoo said:You can understand why scoring is my least favorite part of my job. I am harsh. We have a 10 point scale, after all, and I try to use it. Worthwhile games can exist in a range outside of the top 1%. I have given my personal Game of the Year an 8.5 on three separate occasions (Dead Rising 2, Terraria, and Ratchet: Crack in Time), so you can see how much value I put on 8-range games.
The Last of Us didn't earn a 9 (or higher) in my eyes. However, it's still an incredible experience.
... pretty sure Naughty Dog will hit their Metacritic bonus levels, if that's what's concerning you.

Just saw the OP - You seriously don't have a link to Polygon? Come on man, it's just a review score. I'm not a fan of Polygon either, but that's just kind of petty, don't you think?

The OP conspiracy makes to fucking sense. He also left out the IGN review you know the one that game the game a 10/10.

Exactly. They wouldn't even know what the consensus is or will be. I actually ripped that question right from Evilore's thread after the UC3 embarrassment, which ends up applying to a crazy amount of these threads.
You could make a brand new thread when a lower review hits, and the gut reaction to many posters would be anger while entering the thread, before reading anything. Way too much emotional attachment to a product that hasn't been experienced yet is a serious problem.
I really don't trust reviews for Naughty Dog games since Uncharted 2 (and to a lesser extent, 3), but I am significantly more excited for the direction of TLoU.
Can you imagine if this were true for all reviews in all media? So a movie reviewer would give Twilight five stars because the target audience for the film would love it, regardless of how the reviewer felt about it? Reviews are personal, and the very definition of subjective. Objectivity has no place.
People have issues.People are crazy, I was adding missing links for IGN, OPM UK and Empire which all gave 10/10.
