Played all night with joycons only and had no issues, felt great infact. Did three shrines and got some warmer clothing. I love how open this game feels everything just happens so organically.Playing with hud in pro mode is definitely the way to go.

What the heck, I went to where to get the Warm Doublet but the Old Man's not here. Is it because I did all the Great Plateau shines already?

Amazing game. My only complaint so far is that it's nearly freaking impossible to catch a fish. What I wouldn't give for a fishing rod...

Anyone want to give advice on what the final ingredient is for the recipe to get the warm doublet? I've looked around the first tower but haven't found anything yet, am I in the right location?

The best thing is when your goal becomes a self-imposed objective like "i want to get to the top of that mountain" and then you try twice and die both times and then have like 2 hours of hunting and gathering and cooking and buying better clothes and exploring and THEN you're set and THEN you try it and you do it and... that feel

This just happened to me and instead
there was a chest inside his house with the Doublet there

I completed all the shrines, left the plateau, explored, then wanted it and specifically went back to get it, then I was like "fuck, he's gone". I even went to the
top of Mount Hylia
or whatever first and nothing happened.

Read his book. There's a slightly (and frustratingly) ambiguous description of the third ingredient in his journal.

There are 2 things that dropped my jaw last night

1) I was fighting a giant bokoblin enemy kind of thing and it started to get dark so skeleton raised from the ground! So here I was, dealing with 3 hard enemies with only my spear and then I manged to hit the big one so he dropped his bat and took it! He started to look around for it and when he didn't find it he
took one of the skelletons and launched it at me
and almost killed me.

2) I reached a big enemy fortress so I stealthed my way to a giant rock overlooking the whole thing and noticed a bunch of explosive barrels but the enemies were kind of far from them and by accident I used an arrow on the ground and then the enemies apparently heard the sound and gathered near that spot so I then used a flame arrow on the explosive barrels to send them all to Bokoblin hell.

THIS GAME.

I guess everyone's too busy enjoying the game.

Everyone but me...

Now I'm the one looking through a rain covered window at a Nintendo console.

Pretty dumb question here, but how do you dodge in this game? I keep hearing my son downstairs get killed instantly and he can't figure out to dodge and I can't seem to find an answer online

The missing ingredient is
Hylian bass. Remember, the name of the dish mentions spicy meat and seafood, so that means raw meat, spicy peppers and fish. You can catch one in the pond the Temple of Time and the Old Man's original campsite.

It's a bit irritating. It's more like "jump away" than dodge.

Lock on to the enemy you want to dodge then press a direction and jump. You'll backflip or strafe-hop to dodge. You only ever have to jump backwards or side to side.

It's pretty irritating not having a roll/dive. Positioning in the field is v important, like keep distance from enemies, run away/around when you need to, throw items in a pinch for critical hits, etc.

I love this stuff.

I decided to throw all kinds of ingredients together along with some wood. The description is hilarious before you make it. This game lets you do so much.

Am I reading some of these replies right in that the wii u version actually looks better than the Switch? Not talking about performance.

I already bought the game (54 euros at mediamarkt intead of 65 yay!) and have to wait for the switch to come...
next week :(

The dad of a good friend was working on the canary islands this week, and there the console was 290 euros instead of 330, so nearly getting the zelda for free if I bought it in the mainland, he is coming back next week and thats when will be able to play.

Have fun everyone! I will be here in a corner playing divinity or something :(

these stories are always so interesting to me. The pains of living in remote places

You can dash away tho, that is how i do.

So far I've played this on Switch in Handheld mode and Tabletop mode but there isn't much in the way of Rumble. Very minor.

Does this improve?

Left trigger + jump

Ahh gottcha, thanks boys he's getting it figured out now. Dude is frustrated. I wish I was playing but nooooo I have to work :(

Oh man after switch setup and hunting down passwords I only hade time for a few minutes play. But so promising, getting out of the cave, seeing the big boulder, first thought, I want to push that down this hill. And you can! So simple but I love it.

I think most people are waiting for their Switch to arrive.

Playing Wii U version right now. Picture dont look muddled or washed out at all. Same colour as switch gameplay videos. Maybe bit more jaggies but i play on My old 720p 32" TV so looks good anyway. :)

Cleared 2 monster camps and gotten a traveler sword and fire arrows. The arrow gameplay is really satisfying .. just arrived at the first shrine.

ugh i want to go back. i'm only here because i'm working rn >_<

Not sure if it's been answered yet, but has anyone found out what's included in the 2 additional chests from the expansion pack?

Spoiler tag if necessary.

Just walking around the plateau shirtless. Little overwhelmed, but this game has no problem letting you go at your own pace. The broken
guardians
on the plateau scared the shit out of me.

Now that the game's finally out, I'm wondering if Nintendo plans on releasing performance updates for the game. For the most part the framerate isn't terrible, though the dips are noticeable, there is one area that is absolute framerate hell. Spoilers ahead. The location I'll be writing about somewhat late game. Unspoiler at your own risk.

The Lost Woods, but more specifically, the Korok Forest inside the Lost Woods, runs below 30fps almost the entire time. It's one of the prettiest places in the game with a lot of foliage, so it's understandable why it's chugging. Even on handheld mode is has issues. Thankfully, the area isn't action based at all so it's not like you'll need to be dodging enemies here,
but it's a shame that the performance is so bad here.

not sure if its the TV in my daughters room that the Wii u is connected to, but are the graphics bad looking in the wii u version?

I miss the GAF of old, where I can gwt away with Link to the Past on my thread title about nostalgia :'(. I can't wait to crack open Breath of the Wild soon. Will play the Wii U version first and maybr ay a future date the Switch version
