My friend told me that Twist leaked months before the actual album was released. I'm not sure how NB is keeping such a tight lid on this, but oh well. I guess maybe it's a good thing

We'll only have to wait until Friday at the latest anyway

And Tanelorn is so awesome that it should keep me happy until then

Going to see Rosetta on Wednesday!

The same day as the Russian Circles/Boris show though :/

I might try and see Russian Circles, then dart over to the Rosetta show.

I have to applaud Nuclear Blast, three days before release Blind Guardians album (finally) leaked. First impression? This album is Sacred.

Cathedral - not much of a fan, but my mates wanted to see them. Meh.

Heaven & Hell - caught the first 4 songs, Jorne Lande was providing vocals and did an admirable job with Mob Rules & I, then Glenn Hughes came out for Country Girl & Children of the Sea. At this point we left for BLS, but apparantly Lande & Hughes traded on and off with the rest of the set before they both came out along with Phil Anselmo to finish with Neon Knights.

UFO - day 2 was meant to kick off with Wishbone Ash, but some of us were a bit worse for wear and we arrived late, but thankfully in time to see UFO who kicked ass but didn't have much of a crowd that early in the day on the main stage (also, a lot of people seemed to be there just to hear Doctor Doctor played). They kept having technical difficulties with Vinnie Moore's amp stack, it kept cutting out mid-song and was dead for a good five minutes, so Phil Mogg kept the crowd entertained with some jokes and a few stories about growing up in the East End.

Down - my 5th time seeing Down, I have to say they're quite possibly the best live band i've had the pleasure of seeing. Phil complained about the smallish crowd and the amount of people standing motionless with their arms folded, but to be fair the festival wasn't really geared to metal and there were a lot of middle aged people there - he eventually managed to rouse the immediate crowd into action as the band kicked into gear. Down play with such energy and clearly feed off the crowd going metal for them, it feels wrong not to give something back. Pretty standard setlist consisting of all the fan favourites, along with a track or two from III (which Phil introduced as "here's a couple of songs from our third album, y'know...the one you guys don't like as much as the other two" :lol) before they finished, as usual, with Bury Me in Smoke.

Man, what a line-up! All of those on one festival is pretty crazy! The last "Heaven and Hell" concert would have been something I'd loved to see. I saw them last year with Dio. It must have been super emotional! :/
I still haven't managed to see Down or Cathedral live. :(

Btw, was Michael Schenker there with UFO or was it some other guitar player? I'd have gone for Schenker alone.

Nah, no Schenker unfourtunatly - Vinnie Moore was the main guitarist and the keyboard player Paul Raymond helped out on a few songs.

Vinnie Moore? WTF? Is he even capable of playing straight-up UFO-style rock'n'roll or did he shred all over the songs like an idiot?

He was quite restrained thankfully, I don't think the crowd would have appreciated him going too off track.

Anthrax, Slayer, Megadeth. I hate concerts, but I'm seriously considering getting out to this. Let's just say I am not so sure how being in this crowd would be. I feel like I'd need a tattoo or 10 to fit in.
Got tickets to the San Antonio show. Testament is opening. I'm an Anthrax nerd. :p

I'm listening to the whole album for the n-th time right now.
It's so so amazing.
Sacred Worlds is great. So so so great.
I didn't feel Tanelorn when listening to it for the first time but I'm loving it more and more on repeat hearings.
Wheel of Time is interesting and amazing too.
There are so many sooo gooood songs it's incredible. Sure, right now it's with hype and all but I feel it becoming one of my top three favorite Blind Guardian albums in favor of ANatO. It's just pure bliss. Nothing disappointing about it, at all. Certainly a surprise after ATitM.
If you didn't yet, go listen to it. Now. You won't be disappointed (except for yacobod).

AGH!!!! Album leaks and of course I'm stuck at work for the next 9 hours. FUCK.

Caught the 2 new songs on the Guardian's site last night, and loved them. I don't want to overhype myself, but I'm expecting album of the year material here. I MUST HAVE IT.

Listened to some clips, sounds awesome! But I'm gonna be a good boy and wait for it to release.

*looks at american release date*

Why the hell did they delay the release a month for america? :/

Seriously, there are some weaker tracks but of the non-prereleased ones Sacred Worlds and Wheel of Time really stand out. Not because the rest is weak, but it's because these two are absolutely astounding.

just give them a one listen on youtube and buy once it's released in the USA or something like that. It's sooo worth it. I'm definitely buying it as soon as it's available

Been listening to At The Edge of Time a lot today. I wish Wheel of Time was longer, eight minutes goes by too fast! Songs I would love to hear live right now would be:

Sacred Worlds: It's good enough to replace Into the Storm. I will miss that intro though, but it's been the opening song for 12 years. :lol

Tanelorn could replace Welcome to Dying as an early song, maybe directly after Sacred Worlds.

Curse my Name could be the second ballad next to The Bard Song, replacing Lord of the Rings, A Past and Future Secret and Skalds and Shadows. Maybe it's too hard to pull off though? So much happening in that one.

Ride into Obsession needs to be played live.

A voice in the Dark will probably be in there too somewhere, as it is the single.

I would also love to hear Wheel of Time, maybe in the encore? I really hope it won't topple And Then There Was Silence. :( The set can have two epic songs.

So that's six songs I would love to hear. How many did they play from A Twist in the Myth? Two? :lol I hope they won't shy away from this album. It's really good.

Recommendation-age: Anyone know more bands like Textures, Periphery, Scarve, Hacride, Fellsilent, Benea Reach, etc.? I.e. technical death stuff but with good vocals and some melodic bits.

Back into my symphonic metal now, listening to Delain a lot. I got Lucidity in the post yesterday, and I really love "The Gathering", especially the vocals, though I would like a bonus track where the male vocals are removed.

Still need to get round to buying Dark Passion Play but I don't know which version to get >_<

I ask you to please have an open mind and let the evidence speak for itself. At least watch all the videos with an open mind if you are going to make posts about this is all nonsense.

It's uncanny how music can influence people http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRPxkkP-ZGM&feature=related

The whole VMA 2009 awards was one big Satanic ritual.

Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAvoyUBzVdk&feature=related

Part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgk0yJ676WQ&feature=related If you are skeptical please explain the words in the background at 5:28?

Many music videos are heavy with Satanic symbolism. The following are just a few examples (there are many, many more):

Michael Jackson music video explained http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71F5oc5SAxM

Rihanna's Umbrella video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBZiAk5A1JY

Jay Z http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7XqKuP6GR0&feature=related

In fact, the spirit behind most secular music is Satanic. Many artists have admitted to selling their souls to Satan for fame and fortune. Many artists have admitted to channeling evil spirits to create their music.

John Lennon is believed to sold his soul, in fact he said it himself. There is even a book about it called The Lennon Prophecy. The Beatles channeled evil spirits http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00W93kE-ZE0

Brian Wilson was believed to channel spirits and be possessed http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKmh1mmjHV0&feature=related

Kurt Kobain channeled evil spirits to create music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LspYPyNydTg&feature=related

The Eagles http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYjkV1iWlQU&feature=related

The so called father of Rock and Roll Robert Johnson believed to sold his soul for guitar playing abilities and fame http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ku4zOtYd-Is

Jimi Hendrex believed he was possessed by demonic spirits. His girlfriend admitted it as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruTnkMVx5jU&feature=related

Michael Jackson http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=811AQTeHI7c&feature=related

Black Sabbath http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rT4Hm9u_RaU&feature=related

Prince admitted he had another person [evil spirit] living inside him

Elvis Presley is believed to have been demonic possessed Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e10Wv373uKA&feature=related

Part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MftkmYWpqKU&feature=related

Bob Dylan implied he sold his soul to Satan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqvvOD4bdRs

Katy Perry admitted she sold her soul http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8MTaltXEuQ&feature=related

Eminem said he sold his soul in his rap song "Goodbye Hollywood"

"What about math, how come I wasn't ever good at that
It's like the boy in the bubble, who never could adapt, i'm trapped
If I could go back, I never woulda rapped
I sold my soul to the devil, i'll never get it back
I just wanna leave this game with level head intact"

Also in his song "My Darling http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONxUje4EJgU&feature=related

In his autobiography "The Doggfather", Snoop Dogg says the devil came
to him to make a deal that he would be rich and famous in exchange for
his soul. Snoop accepted the devil's offer (by his own words) and identifies that the point at which Calvin Broadus dies Snoop Dog was born.

FROM THE SONG "LET ME FLY". In this song, DMX explains that he sold his soul to the devil and exactly why he did it etc.

"I sold my soul to the devil, and the price was cheap. A yo it's cold on this level cause it's twice as deep. But you don't hear me, ignorance is blisning and so on Sometimes it's better to be taught dumb. Shall I go on. You don't want no real, what the deal is a mystery. How is it I can live and make history If you don't see it then it, wasn't ment for you to see
If you wasn't born wit' it then, it wasn't ment for you to be But you can't blame me for not wantin' to be hound lock down in a cell wit' a soul gettin' dwelled This is hell, go get the devil and get me the key but can't be worst than the curse that was given ta me It's what I live for, you take away that and I'm gone "

Apparently, it turns out Satan was not happy that Heavy Metal was not reaching Black people. So he created that Hip Hop to reach 'brothers' and cross all kinds of ethnic & cultural barriers.

Pastor Craig Lewis speaks about it here

Watch this wonderful testimony of a rapper who was close to selling his soul for a money but chose to walk with Christ. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aM1CkXxwf0Y&feature=player_embedded

Heavy metal band leader said he sold his soul to Satan but God stepped in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7dpGWYZMDc&feature=player_embedded

A former Satan worshiper, John Todd, explains how record companies conjure up evil spirits and use witchcraft to brainwash people through Rock and Roll. Mind you this was taped around 40 years ago.

Jesus said "And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?" (Mark 8:36)

The Bible is clear that Satan has control of the world until Christ returns. Satan even offered Jesus the kingdoms of the world if Jesus worshiped him.

Satan tried to make the same deal with Jesus Christ when Jesus was
tempted in the wilderness. The bible reads "Matthew 4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; Matthew 4:9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Matthew 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve"

Satan certainly has musical abilities. In Ezekiel 28:13 - "Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: THE WORKMANSHIP OF THY TIMBRELS AND OF THY PIPES WAS PREPARED IN THE DAY THAT THOU WAST CREATED."

Isaiah14:11-12 "Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols [stringed instruments]: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee. How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

We only have to look around us at the music industry and its "Rock, rap and Pop stars" to see how much of an influence Satan has on music and its corruption, it is most certainly one of the devils strongest tools to corrupt the Word of God and influence the lost away from Godliness and to place strongholds on them via music.

Spiritual warfare is certainly going on: "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." -- Ephesians 6:12

Jesus said "And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?" (Mark 8:36)

Jesus wants all to come to him ""Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)

What do you think?

You realize that the Bible was written by a bunch of sheep herders who were wandering the dessert. Who ripped off Sumerian myths, and tried to destroy all knowledge of Asherah?

When I was in sixth or seventh grade going to a Christian school they sat us down for a presentation that told us about all the satanic messages in music. The only thing they accomplished was turning me onto Van Halen and Motley Crue.

I loved the first two albums, but then the last two they put out were kinda garbage. This one seems much more refined.

They were tight as always, but the sound sucked for them that night. Seen them quite a few times now. They are full on hippies now playing in yoga pants and no shoes on.

Started with the Focus album from start to finish. Played about 3 songs off Traced In Air. Played an acoustic song off of Re-Traced (which is a remix/re-interpretation of Traced In Air). And played one Portal song (their demo stuff after Cynic's Focus)

As far as their output I can't listen to anything past Clayman anymore, and rarely listen to anything aside from Jester Race, Black Ash Inheritance, and Whoracle. Just not my cup of tea.

I love JR, BAI and Whoracle, but aside from them I don't care about In Flames at all.
