Not necessarily crash, just a bad run could lose it for them if the other teams put in some stellar final runs.

Bobsleigh can be very unpredictable.

I suppose, but USA has had the fastest run the first 3 times..they would have to make a huge huge mistake to lose that much time (.46).

Pretty epic what Canada has done the past 3-4 days. How did that dude win?

It's time for the Canadian men to pick up the slack, and they're certainly doing it in the past couple of days. Now they just need to finish this off tomorrow in the hockey game and send this city into a giant party frenzy :lol

At this point I'm hoping for a Martin match point choke!
Not possible ! He is a total clutch performer, moreso than even Cherl Bernard.

But the Americans back home wouldn't know it, because NBC is airing a 2 hour 9/11 special instead. :lol

Not so much! The same final in Salt Lake he missed the last shot, only had to get a point. No Olympic gold as far as I know.

1 more gold needed to tie the Soviet Union in 1976 and Norway in 2002 with the most gold medals ever in the Winter Olympics, and I think we've got 2 more gold left in us. What we've done these past 3 days is astounding. If we'd been on like this all two weeks, we would have won the Olmypics by ANY metric :lol

Wow, GOLD! this is probably going to put pressure on our mens curling team
Mmhmm, but I don't think Martin is as likely to choke when it matters like Bernard is. Then again, he did do so pretty badly in their first round robin game against Norway, almost costing the game.

Vancouver has more events than any Winter Olympics before, though. 8 more than Salt Lake. 49 more than 1976.

oh man, if Kevin Martin wins gold, then the USA vs Canada hockey game will not only be for the gold medal, but will determine whether or not Canada will set the record for most gold medals ever

as if there couldn't be any more pressure and hype in that fucking game

No doubt. Both Olympics seem to be expanding rather than contracting.

Still couldnt be any happier with how things have turned out. These past few days have been godly.

Ughhhhh just looking at that time by each team on Vancouver 2010. Team Canada is the only team that skated below 3:02 and they couldn't medal :( This has to be the biggest upset in this Olympics so far.

Balancing that out a bit is the fact that I think a lot more countries compete now, and seriously so. But it's certainly difficult to really place a lot of value on these numbers given all the variables.

Hopefully Canada can hang on to the silver position in the four man bobsleigh. I doubt anyone can catch the American team, unless they really screw up.

The Soviet performance at the 1976 Olympics will never be bested in terms of unbelievable percentage of gold medals won, I think. Too massive a lead. But Canada's surge these last days reveals some desperation in those who deemed it a failure early on!

We should be at like 13 golds if women's curling didn't shit the bed yesterday. Oh well atleast 2 more golds to come from mens curling and hockey!

With that 12th gold today, Canada already set the record for most golds in one Winter games!

You know what? At this point, you never know. The men have been nailing it since last night, bobsled gold isn't too out of the question.
