The Official Bourne 5 Production Thread: Renner Not Welcomed

I can't tell if it was implied Bourne was on some kind of pills. I think it was frank Marshall during the filming of legacy it was possible, because in identity, before the professor dies, he said, "treadstone said pills...they said go to Paris.."

either way, I don't think Bourne was on any kind of meds. He and others were just very skilled and brainwashed.

I felt there were was a point in Legacy where it's kind of implied Bourne stopped the meds and managed to keep the bonuses from them. I haven't watched it in awhile, so I might be wrong, but I remember it as one of the things that rubbed me the wrong way about that movie considering I'm a huge fan of the first three.

Edit-here we go:

"Zev Vendel: Three years off program, non-med, first gen, still rolling. Is there any way we can score some data off of this? Have they caught him alive? I mean, even as a base line. I mean, even forensically"

did gilroy pen the script for supremacy?
what I loved about supremacy had to be the end-car chase. bourne had a bullet in him, but he still had this sense of emergence where he's literally thinking..."I have to get to this Russian girl to tell her the truth even if it's the last fucking thing I'm going to do."

it was intense, and thrilling. the other part that I found fantastic was the anonymous call he gave to the cia when pamela was running things when he happened to just be on the opposite building and telling pam that nicky was "standing right next to you"

chilling, man.
I love this one from Ultimatum
http://youtu.be/JRLNdcmRcFY

Bourne: "Where are you now?"
Vosen: "I'm sitting in my office."
"I doubt that."
"Why would you doubt that?"
"If you were in your office right now we'd be having this conversation face-to-face."

I don't remember any hints to Bourne being on chems in the first three films and then all of a sudden it's implied he was on chems and his body was just able to manage without being tested out or whatever Renner was trying to do in that movie. All the work Landy and Bourne did was essentially undone if you see the news report in the one scene. Maybe retcon was the wrong word, but it definitely fucked with shit from the first three films when it was completely unnecessary.
i don't think there was any implication that bourne was on meds. that was an outcome thing, and bourne was treadstone. i agree with your last statement though. legacy sucked ass.
Uh, yeah. Paz sniping Ross at waterloo, and vosen's right hand man calling bryer that Bourne was in new York.

and legacy did recon ultimatum's ending. In ultimatum landy faxed the black briar documents that would've revealed all the Americans and foreign targets that were illegal killed, and how the cia were conducting illegal operations. Ultimatum had anti-bush tones. In fact, the first two do, too.

at the end of legacy, vosen testifies saying they prevented landy from letting the documents get into the wrong hands, and how they stopped the fax.

I mean, seriously, how do you magically stop a fax? "better get yourself a good lawyer, vosen."

and vosen and heirsh all arrested according to the news Nicky was watching.
are you sure? I guess I need to see the end of legacy again but if the end of legacy has vosen state that they somehow stopped the fax then that is indeed a retcon. but from the way I remember it, him speaking to the supreme court is the only scene he's in (and he wouldn't be telling them he stopped a fax) unless he was saying it was a fax of cia secrets in which case it would make sense, but, we see him getting arrested at the end of ultimatum so that would indeed make it a retcon.

Well, we had a problem
with Treadstone six years ago.
The Blackbriar program,
detailed in the operations
report you have before you,
was activated solely to capture
a Treadstone operative
gone rogue.
Pam, what are you going to do?
We have nothing for you now.
I don't know
Pamela Landy's reasons
for criminally assisting an
enemy of the United States.
But the fact is, she lacked
the operational clearance
to access, much less interpret,
the information you have
in the classified
file before you.
Pam, there's a rumor that you're
going to be indicted, is it true?
Mike, can you comment? WOMAN:
Have you been subpoenaed?
We're here voluntarily.
We came for a meeting.
Have you had any
contact with Jason Bourne?
Did you receive
a target letter or not?
Are we going to
see you tomorrow?
I just thank God that
there were hands steady enough
to make sure that the documents
she tried to shop to the press
were contained
before they could
do any more harm
than they already have

I mean, its been brought up on internet how the ending was retconned. Landy became a whistleblower when she faxed the documents to the NYT.

I didn't know Vincent Cassel was in the movie. That's good news, he can play badass characters. :)

Don't know how trustworthy this site is, or even this person since he seems to be in the know, but John Powell not coming back:

And apparently all the composers for Captain Phillips had a very unpleasant time scoring that film. Even Zimmer had to come in to help.

That would really suck if true, since Powell's music not only elevated the films, but added new life to the films.

I love Zimmer but I don't know if he fits these types of movies.

Harry Gregson Williams would have been a great composer for this movie.

Other than totally negating Ultimatum's ending, of course!

I hated that and it made me immediately want to dismiss the movie as non canon, undoes Landy's work.

Completely unnecessary, just have the CHEMS program be an offshoot of Blackbriar and tell your own story.

I did enjoy the early scenes in the snow with Oscar Isaac, workplace shootout was disturbing, and the FBI scene in the house was decent.
But in general it was mediocre/middling at best and got less interesting as it went along, then it just kind of ends.

And I've never had a desire to rewatch it, unlike the first three, which are as rewatchable a series of movies as I can remember.

I'm all on aboard for the Bourne Enemy ignoring Legacy.

They're currently filming in London now:

They're also filming near Paddington Station.

Am I the only one not liking Bourne's clothes? Brown leather jacket and jeans, and some casual looking boots I can't see Bourne wearing as far as utilitarian clothes go.

Looks like a poor English citizen just in Bourne's way, lol. Looks like Bourne has a paper in his hand with some kind of info written on it.

I'm hoping Damon and Greengrass don't fail us. Bond failed us twice already with Skyfall and Spectre. I do have faith in Greengrass, since his track record has been good, except for Green Zone.

EDIT-Other pics from the link has Bourne holding a paper. Not the other guy's collar, lol.

Ok, here we go:

Hopefully he's not silent like that previous assets.

He's already scary looking dude in real life, and I'm wondering if he's going to be really lethal who gives no fucks about civilians.

That's a crying shame, Powel Borne music is iconic.

New details have popped up. The world of Bourne has also seen the financial collapse, the great recession and all the issues of cyberwarfare and civil liberties. We also find Jason Bourne in a dark and tortured place.

A photo have also been released by Entertainment Weekly.

The Bourne Legacy is canon and not some alternative timeline. It is set in the same universe and is still canon.
