Ok thanks. Either in this thread or some other Jason Bourne thread that although the Renner version will continue on its own, it would be an alternate universe telling
where the fax machine got interrupted at the end of Bourne 3, so Pamela is framed/charged by Vosen. Since in the actual ending, the fax gets through, like normal, and Vosen is arrested and Ezra Kramer is under investigation.

Spoilers, even though it's been almost 10 fuckin years.

Damon was meant to be Bourne, I have faith Greengrass will pull out another gem.

I liked The Bourne Legacy and it's too bad that ultimately it amounted to nothing but a negotiation tactic to get Damon and Greengrass back. A movie with Damon and Renner teaming up would have been great.

Bourne in a dark and tortured place. Man I love the morality and Bourne fighting his demons still.

Look, I even posted pages back that Damon gave an interview and said legacy was its own universe or doing something their own way.

I don't think greengrass and Damon recognize legacy apart of their trilogy as far as progressing the plot.

Well, that's what I thought, but I have honestly never finished Legacy. Or at least I haven't noticed the whole fax stuff going on. So it's probably an alternate universe.

So I guess Damon and Renner won't ever meet?

right and i wrote in response to you here that I recalled such discussion happening. wouldn't have hurt if you cleared up above that legacy ain't canon.

The fax machine getting interrupted in legacy won't be in Bourne 5. Hell, I highly doubt it'll be brought or even landy being brought up. If landy is brought up, it'll be a reference to ultimatum.

As far as Legacy is concerned, it's a follow-up to the trilogy. As far as this movie is concerned, they'll probably ignore it. Being set 12 years later also helps to do that without necessarily erasing or retconning Legacy.

Gotta admit, legacy isn't a bad film, and has a lot of memorable moments, but the ending gives me goosebumps when the extreme ways plays:

landy was a convictive character though, shame she isn't tapped for this. it's coming out this year right? shouldn't they have released a trailer?

I think it's been established in this thread that bourne 4 is an alternate universe telling of the trilogy, not a proper followup; that's what bourne 5 will be. even if it is 12 years later, having the cia exposed would still be vital.

can't take Renner as a serious action movie hero. Andy Capp with a gun. Glad Damon is back

how is Cassel dominating him in combat though? Perhaps Blackbriar got an European branch?

huh? either your sentence is structured weirdly, or I don't you. you start off saying positive things about legacy, and then - are the goosebumps supposed to be a bad thing?

Bourne usually has the upper hand against treadstone or blackbriar assets, though in supremacy and ultimatum, Jarda and Desh still put a beating in Bourne.

I can't wait to see Cassel on screen. He's already a creepy looking guy in real life.

Jarda and Bourne looked like they were evenly matched but Desh was physically more capable. Got outmatched coz Bourne was a smarter fighter.

Legacy sequel with Renner is on the back burner. There's a director and writer attached.

Will there be a crossover? Hard to say, really. Never say never I guess, even though Greengrass, just a year (2013) before Damon and Greengrass were coming back, said he's done with the franchise. Either Greengrass and Damon fooled everyone, or it was relatively soon afterwards they came up with an idea.

But I can't see Damon doing a crossover with Renner unless Greengrass is back again. This seems to be Greengrass's last Bourne, since he really wants to work on other projects.

I don't get Damon's hard-on for Greengrass. Yes, he's a great director, but I'm sure Damon has MAJOR leverage with Universal on choosing another director if he wants to do Bourne 6/cross over with Renner.
